Unexpected Promotion

NICHOLAS POV

I went back to my room upstairs and thought of what to do next. I need no more investigations now. I already know all I should and procrastination could be very dangerous.

I called out a maid and ordered her to call Renata for me. She asked if I would want anything and I replied - Just Renata. The maid took heed and left to carry out my instructions when Ava walked inside the room.

"What now?" She asked curiously as she traced my hands to the paper on it.

I quickly dumped it inside my pocket before inviting her to sit.

"Where have you been?" I asked, trying to change the topic.

"The Prime Minister summoned me. He wanted to talk about finding my mate." She replied and I was elated by the news.

"Woah! That's great. I can't wait to find out who your mate will be. Since you barely attend any function, you're attending the next full moon festival?" I asked curiously.
