It was a cold and dark night. Theo was nowhere to be seen, and a howl came from behind the house. Diane and I had no idea what was happening but one of us had to take action. I took a torch, and a shovel from the fireplace and headed out the back.I moved cautiously due to circumstances. How the hell did someone successfully come into the compound with his dog? I kept thinking of possible scenarios as I went forward. The more I walked, the more I saw how forest-like his house looked.Then I heard the howl again. I listened for a moment and went in the direction of the sound. If there is someone there, would this shovel do the trick, or am I'm just walking to my doom?I kept moving deeper as I hoped Diane had called for help just in case it was something I couldn't handle. As I moved, I realized that it got more quiet than usual, which was suspicious. "Who's there?" I pointed towards the trees and turned around.
