My shirt adhered to my body like a second skin. There was no source of fresh air in the parking garage. Surely, I knew Mr Dean would throw a fit since I couldn't make the one week deadline but I never thought he would actually fire me.

It was almost five and I stood by Mr Dean Anderson's car, sweaty and extremely frustrated. Every sound made me flinch. If Diane found me, she would kill me. It was bad enough that we lied to her, disregarding her was way worse. But I just couldn't bring myself to say anything. What would I even say? 'oh hey Diane, funny story, the night we went to see Theo I got bit by a vampire and became one. I'm also supposed to fulfill a prophecy but, no big deal'? Yeah that sounds stupid.

My brows subtly hinted at surprise as Mr. Dean finally graced me with his presence. "I thought I told you to leave my building Russell," he said haughtily while walking towards me. Well, technically to his car.
