10. THE PACK

The dinner had gone well other than that baffling tarot reading. Luna went home and was deep in thought. Thought about it all night. The next morning she was going to bring it up in conversation with her pack run to her cousin. 

She woke up at the crack of dawn and got ready for her run. She and Trae always paired up on their run. She thought if anyone was going to be honest and protect her. So as they were running she decided she would ask him some questions then." So cuz , I have some questions, just being curious. " " Ok why are you asking permission to ask a question tho cuz?" Trae said " Ok so I was just thinking have you ever seen a gay wolf? "Are you calling my gay cuz? not cool. " siad Trae now confused. " nooooo not you just in general? Like have you ever heard of any wolves being gay?" asked Luna "No cuz never thats against traditions. Hasn't anyone told you what the rules are and consequences of breaking them?" said Trae. " No what rules and what are the consequences? asked Luna. tey werer almost finished with their run. " Hey why dont we go through all this tonight. I can't believe no one talked to you about this." said Trae. " Ok " said Luna. Thank goodness he didn't see the look of panic on her face as they were running. She got back to the house showered and head to work. Before she left she text Tala good morning knowing shed just be waking up. 

So the day continued Luna's work day went well despite being distracted. Before she knew it the day was over and it was time to talk more with Trae. After dinner Trae met Luna on the back porch. " Ok cuz let's go over these rules and consequences. we only have 5 so no big deal right.

1. Always stay loyal to the pack

2. No sex prior to being paired with your appointed mate

3. No homosexual relationships

4. No illegal drug use

5. obey the packs alpha

See easy just be a good little wolf and you don't need to worry." said Trae, " And what if I am a bad little wolf and break one of these easy rules? asked Luna. " Well cuz that's the part that's not so easy. If you break the rules you will either be banished and you walk away from the pack with your tail tucked. Or the other option is to fight the alpha and if you in the fair chance wins then you can sit sown and come up with a middle ground to continue being a member of the pact. But if you leave and try to return one hve to figt the alpha to return. " 

" So anymore questions cuz?" Asked Trae" 

" Well maybe another. Has my mate already been chosen? " asked Luna

" Actually the fight for you is this coming weekend. I was already planning to discuss this with you tonight." said Trae

" A fight for me and I don't even have a say or see who my options are?! I am just a prize for some male." said Luna extremely upset.

"I am sorry cuz that this is new to you. But it is just how things are. We cant chage what we were born into and what the rules are. But they are in place for a reason. You just have to do whats right and obey them. These rules keep our specices alive. Please what ever you're thinking please just leave things alone. Ok ? Just promise me that you won't jepordize us.

This was s9o much for Luna to take in. Being treated as a prize rather than a person. These rules they just seem so outdated. But this is her pack she already had to leave her old pack. She really has no one else. But she also waants tue love. Things have been going so well. This is so much to think about.
