The silence in the grand hall didn't last long. Denial is a powerful thing, and Regina had too much pride to accept defeat.

"Ridiculous!" Regina shrieked, breaking the suffocating tension. Her voice echoed sharply off the high ceilings as she marched toward Julian. "Stop spouting nonsense, Julian! Have you lost your mind? Look at her!"

Regina jabbed a finger in my direction, her face twisted in an ugly sneer. "Her husband is the pack blacksmith! He is a filthy, soot-covered peasant with no wolf form! He swings a hammer for a living. He doesn’t have access to royal vaults!"

Julian narrowed his eyes, clearly offended by her tone. "I have worked with the finest fabrics in the realm for three decades. I know the Aurora Silk when I see it."

"Then she stole it!" Regina spat, her eyes flashing with venomous triumph. She turned to the crowd, raising her voice. "She must have stolen a cheap replica! Look at her! She stands here wearing a stolen dress, and where is the groom? He isn't even here!"

The murmurs returned, this time filled with mocking laughter.

"The coward probably realized he couldn't afford the rent on this hall and ran off," Victor chuckled, wrapping a possessive arm around Regina's waist.

"My husband is coming," I said, my voice steady, though my heart beat nervously against my ribs. "You don't need to worry about him."

Regina threw her head back and laughed—a harsh, grating sound. "Oh, Amy. So pathetic. Ditched at the altar by a beggar. If you get on your knees and beg Victor right now, maybe he’ll take pity on you and find one of the crippled guards from the outer perimeter to marry you instead!"

The elders chuckled. The elite guests snickered behind their champagne flutes. I stood alone at the altar, my jaw locked tight.

Then, the heavy doors of the grand hall creaked open again.

The laughter died instantly as every head snapped toward the entrance.

Standing in the doorway was my mate.

He didn't arrive in a convoy of armored luxury SUVs. He wasn't flanked by terrifying Lycan guards. He was standing beside a massive, shaggy, dirt-streaked ox.

He was dressed simply, the sleeves of his rough tunic rolled up to expose the thick, scarred muscles of his forearms. His heavy boots tracked dirt onto the pristine marble floor.

For a moment, the room was stunned into absolute silence. And then, the hall erupted.

The laughter was deafening. The pack royals howled, pointing at the massive beast standing placidly in the doorway.

"An ox?!" Victor wheezed, practically doubling over. "He brought a farm animal to a wedding hall!"

"Good Goddess, the stench!" Regina gagged loudly, covering her nose with a manicured hand. "He smells like a barnyard! Get that filthy beast out of here before it ruins the marble!"

They mocked him, hurling insults and crude jokes. But my mate didn't flinch. His golden-amber eyes swept over the laughing crowd with utter indifference, as if he were looking at a room full of squawking birds rather than powerful royals. Then, his gaze found me.

His eyes softened instantly. He didn't care about the dress or the venue. He only cared that I was there, waiting for him.

I didn't care about the laughter. I didn't care about the mud. I picked up the hem of my priceless, mythical gown, and I walked straight down the aisle, past my furious sister, past the mocking elders, until I reached him.

I stopped in front of the massive ox, reaching out to gently stroke its coarse, shaggy neck.

"I love it," I said softly, looking up into my mate's eyes. And I meant it.

The corner of his mouth twitched upward into a rare, breathtaking smirk. He didn't say a word to the laughing royals. He didn't need to. He simply stepped forward, his massive hands wrapping around my waist. With effortless strength, he lifted me off the ground and settled me securely onto the broad back of the ox.

"It's time to go home, little beast," he rumbled, his deep voice carrying over the noise.

He grabbed the lead rope, turning his back on the entire grand hall without a second glance.

"You can't be serious!" Regina shrieked, her voice cracking with fury as we began to walk away. "You're leaving?! You're choosing to live in the dirt with that... that animal?!"

We didn't look back. As we stepped out of the hall and into the cool evening air, the sound of my sister's furious, hysterical screaming faded behind us, leaving only the steady, rhythmic plodding of hooves and the comforting, dark scent of my mate.

The heavy, silver-loaded firearm trembled in Regina’s blood-soaked hands. The metallic click of the hammer pulling back echoed like a death knell in the ruined blacksmith shop. "Regina, you are out of your mind!" I shouted, my voice tearing through my throat. I tried to step forward, but Lycan’s massive, unyielding arm wrapped around my waist, keeping me firmly pinned behind him. Regina let out a shrill, hysterical laugh that sounded like shattering glass. Her eyes were wide, bloodshot, and completely devoid of sanity. "Out of my mind?" Regina spat, her chest heaving as she kept the barrel aimed directly at Lycan’s heart. "Victor and I paid dearly for this! Look at the humiliation you’ve caused us! Look at the fortune we lost today, all because of your pathetic defiance! Now, I am going to make the two of you suffer for every single bit of it."Realizing that Lycan’s Shadow Guard was momentarily frozen by the threat of the silver bullets, Victor finally found a shred of his rotten

  • The Wolf Kings choice    Blood, Silver, and the Sister's Delusion

Time seemed to grind to a suffocating halt. The image of Regina lunging toward me was permanently burned into my retinas. Her beautiful, expensive silk gown was torn to rags, her face contorted into a mask of pure, ugly malice. But the most terrifying detail was her hands. The bones had violently cracked and shifted, her manicured fingers elongating into thick, razor-sharp wolf claws meant for tearing flesh from bone. She was completely blinded by her psychotic break, aiming directly for my throat. She didn't care about the heavily armed soldiers. She didn't care about the terrifying Shadow Guard who had just decimated her future father-in-law's mercenaries in seconds. All she saw was the sister she believed was supposed to remain beneath her forever.I froze, my lungs seizing in my chest. I had no time to dodge. I had no time to even raise my arms to shield my face. But I didn't need to. Before Regina’s lethal claws could even graze the fabric of my collar, a massive wall of soli

  • The Wolf Kings choice    The Shadow's Blade and the Sister's Madness

My stepmother lay crumpled against the splintered wall, coughing up blood from the violent kinetic shockwave of Lycan's shield. Yet, even with her body broken and her pride shattered, her survival instincts remained as toxic as ever. Seeing Lord Silas raising his sword and signaling his heavily armed squad to advance, she panicked. She knew that associating with us right now was a guaranteed death sentence. Ignoring the agony in her ribs, she dragged herself across the dusty, blood stained floorboards. Her heavy iron chains rattled against the wood as she crawled toward Lord Silas’s boots like a pathetic, wounded animal. "Lord Silas, please... wait!" she wheezed, leaving a trail of smeared blood behind her. She craned her neck to look up at the furious Armory Lord, completely turning her back on me. "You heard her! You heard the ungrateful wretch! Amy is no longer a member of my family. I have formally disowned her!"Silas paused, his cruel eyes flicking down to the groveling woman

  • The Wolf Kings choice    Severed Ties and Shattered Bonds

The sheer, suffocating pressure of Lycan’s aura continued to rattle the foundation of the ruined blacksmith shop violently. The wooden beams groaned in protest, and the dust on the floorboards danced as the terrifying power of the Silver Wolf Prince leaked into the physical world. Lord Silas and his elite soldiers, previously so eager to charge, suddenly found their boots glued to the dirt. A primal, instinctual terror washed over the armed men. Wolves were creatures of hierarchy, and every cell in their bodies was screaming at them to submit to the apocalyptic predator standing in front of them. But my stepmother was too consumed by her own toxic panic to sense the danger. Seeing me stand firmly beside Lycan, openly defying Lord Silas and the Royal Army, pushed her completely over the edge. In her twisted mind, my loyalty to my husband was a death sentence for her and Regina. If Silas decided to slaughter us all for treason, she needed to prove right here, right now, that she was

  • The Wolf Kings choice    The Golden carriage and the Traitorous Family

Hundreds of miles away from the blood-stained mud of the forest cottage, at the absolute pinnacle of the continent, stood the glittering, unassailable fortress of the Imperial Palace. Here, the air didn't smell of burning sap and wet dirt. It smelled of imported jasmine, polished marble, and absolute, unchallenged power. In the heart of the great throne room, surrounded by towering pillars of pure white gold, sat the Overall Emperor of the realm—Lycan’s grandfather. The ancient, battle-scarred ruler sat upon a throne forged from the legendary weapons of his fallen enemies. For five long years, a heavy, suffocating shadow of worry had loomed over the Emperor's heart. His grandson, the fiercest and most powerful heir the Silver Wolf bloodline had ever produced, had locked himself away in self-imposed exile. But today, the ancestral magic that connected the royal bloodline was practically singing. The Emperor could feel it thrumming in his very veins. The Crown Prince's soul had final

  • The Wolf Kings choice    The Impostor's Treason

The sight of Lord Silas the mighty, feared commander of the Royal Armory, groveling face-down in the mud should have been enough to silence anyone. But Victor’s arrogance was a disease that completely blinded him to reality. "Dad, are you out of your mind?!" Victor shrieked from the depths of the Blood-Thorn patch. He thrashed wildly, the razor-sharp briars tearing deeper into his expensive clothes and flesh, but his bruised ego overshadowed his physical agony. "Get up! What are you doing?! Do you honestly think some rusty, dirt-poor blacksmith is a royal prince?!"Regina, her face scratched and bleeding from the burning sap of the thorns, immediately joined in. Her shrill voice grated against the cold morning air. "You have got to be kidding me! Lord Silas, open your eyes! This punk is just a pro at faking the high life. He is nothing but a peasant!"Silas slowly lifted his head from the mud. His face was pale, his eyes wide with terror as he stared at the midnight-black armor ador
