Chapter five — Am I seeing things?

The last place the dog traced Imogen's saint to was the woods.

Looking for Imogen was not a big deal for the dog since it knew every nook and cranny of the woods.

Three werewolves suddenly dashed into the woods in search of Imogen and the alpha, the dog quickly hid himself behind a wood from being seen.

It knows for sure that if he was found he would be dead.

Before they could find him, he got out of the woods. On his way out, he retracted Imogen's saint and set to trace her to her current location

* * *

Pulling over at Imogen's house, she hopped out of the car and slammed the door behind her.

"Now that's worth it,"Oliver said, zooming off.

He knows for the fact that Imogen has got some attitudes ever since he met her.

He is left with no choice but to put up with some of her attitude.

With her teeth clenching in annoyance. She made her way into the house.

"If that freak had not shown up in the first place none of this would have happened"she muffled turning the lights on. she was startled for the second time.

                        "Am I seeing things?"

Thank God she is safe! The dog thought to himself groaning silently in pain.

Imogen looked down to see the dog she treated lying on her sofa completely exhausted. She dropped her bag on a table and scurried towards it. She fondled it dearly as It hummed silently.

As if the dog was going to give her a response "Did Catherine drop you off?" She asked

Imogen saw that it's bandage had loosen, exposing him to all kinds of infections.

She reached for the first aid kit in her room and removed the bandage. She refreshed the surface with a new solution and wrapped it with a new badge.

Overwhelmed by his little innocent eyes, Imogen fondled him gently as he started to fall asleep.

Just then she heard a noise in her room like a broken glass. She was shocked and frightened.

All she could think of was her encounter with the werewolf who kidnapped her recently.

She walked to her room slowly reaching for her usual self defence, the thick hockey stick as she was ready to attack from any angle even though she was damn scared.

Getting to the room, Imogen couldn't find any trace of a living soul, not even a piece of glass, she was so relieved. She felt like a heavy little burden was lifted from her mind.

"I guess I've been too disturbed lately," she said.

Returning back to the sitting room, she heard the noise again. This time it was so loud that it woke up the dog.

She rushed to her room to see her mirror disrupting and arranging itself. It stopped suddenly.

She screamed as she fell to the floor clutching backwards. The dog ran over to her, making her feel somewhat safe. It stepped away suddenly and jumped out of her window just when he sensed one of his kinds close by.

Imogen scurried towards the window trying to stop him from leaving but she was too late, it had gone far.

She felt more scared seeing herself alone in the house. She secluded herself to a corner of her room shivering slightly as she could feel the coldness of her palms and feets.

Immediately, Oliver jumped into the room through the window. she was startled and she clutched backwards.

Oliver could see every bit of her fear in her eyes.

Embracing her in his arms, "Hey, it's okay! It's me," he assured as Imogen tried to catch her breath.

She could feel his warmth with her head placed on his muscular body. His heartbeat sent sensations down her spine and his arms wrapped around her tiny body reassuring her that she was safe.

She calmed down as her palm and feet returned to its normal temperature.

Returning to her senses, she let herself off his grip and tilted her hair back to her ear. She cleared the lump in her throat as she became nervous about the atmosphere.

Oliver rested his back against the wall near Imogen and cleared his throat.

"Why are you here? You dropped me off earlier," Imogen asked

"Well I heard you screaming." He replied as Imogen chuckled.

"You heard me screaming? Is your house closer to mine or you are stalking me?"

"Don't think too far, I am not jobless enough to stalk you. And besides, why will I be interested in you? It's a werewolf power, got it?" He explained just as Imogen nodded mockingly to every word he said.

"Then why did you come into my house in the first place if you were not stalking me?"

"Well I just happened to find myself here" he shrugged sniffing.

Oliver suddenly caught a glimpse of the dog's smell, he became curious "Was anyone in your house before I arrived?" He asked.

"Anyone? Yeah a dog" she nodded

                "Is that why you screamed?"

"No, it's the mirror! The mirror was strange,  it was like a puzzle arranging itself then it stopped suddenly"

Oliver continued to nod and stare at her like she was pouring him a cup of coffee full of lies.

This time, intentionally doing the same thing she did to him.

Having noticed that he was mocking her, Imogen became annoyed "I am serious!" She shouted.

"After that?" He asked as her brows furrowed.
