On the lamb

I am not strong. Those are my thoughts, as I lug Loss into the back of his car. He's so big, he just barely fits into the backseat; I have to bend his knees to be able to close the door.

Once inside of the driver's side, I blow the hair off my face, shaking hands struggling to get into the ignition.

I start the car, and peel out. I have no idea where we're going, but far from here sounds pretty good to me.

We're in Tacoma, Washington, and it's about to snow. I have the windshield wipers going, and I'm driving at a much slower pace.

People behind me start to honk, but I wave them off to go around me; I'm not about to risk my life for the sake of others. Loss doesn't wake up, though he does snore so loud, it vibrates the car. And on the plus side, he emits heat, so I don't even have to have the heater on.

I decide that the best place to stay would either be a hotel or motel.

The events of today have exhausted me, and I rub my dry eyes. When my stomach growls,
