As I sleep, blue fog turns black and red all around me. The background is nothing but blank space that's turning gray. I take a step forward, noticing a form sitting on the ground, back to me. As I near it, I place my hand on the person's back, feeling the heat from him going into my hand. He turns, a perplexed expression on his face. "Loss!" I say, throwing my arms around him. He seems surprised, as he hugs me back gently, the flat of his palm sliding up and down on my back. It's a comforting touch, and I bury myself deeper in him; Loss is someone safe. "Josie? Are you okay?" he asks, pulling slightly back as he tries to get a good look at me. I don't know what he'll see if he does, and I feel myself shrink away from his gaze. "Is Amon dead?" he asks, and I shake my head no. He takes a quick breath, but says nothing. "I stabbed him with the holy stone." I said, and instantly Loss grabbed ahold of my hands, staring at my palms. I felt my fa
We both get up from he bed, and Loss uses his item manipulation to bring me some of my stuff. He can't do too much magic though, as he is a bit weakened from the holy stone. I asked him what would help him heal faster, and he responded with 'the souls of the damned.' I didn't know if he was joking; his face was somber when he told me. We headed out to get some food, Loss taking0 his wallet back from me. He tugged on my braid, since I had just finished with a shower, and I felt a lot cleaner. Since it was starting to get cold, I'd slipped on a beanie, and a thick coat that covered me from head to toe. I didn't wear gloves, as Loss's hands were always warm, and I found myself holding on to his. This isn't a date or anything like that, you're just holding hands with your guardian demon, I thought to myself, blushing. Loss looks at me strangely, but I shake my head not wanting to explain it. He lets me be, though, escorting me to the passenger's side of the ca
Amon has a crazed look in his eyes, and I can feel my heart about to tear out of my chest. I'd thought after the fight, he'd want to go another round with Loss, to have the chance to humiliate him. But his eyes are focused on me, and I watch in horror as he dives down to me. It occurs to me that Loss hasn't moved an inch, not the car, and he hasn't even started the vehicle. I turn my head to scream at him to go, but he looks...frozen. Did Amon freeze time? The vehicle suddenly sounds like the metal is being shredded from the outside, and Amon yanks me out, grabbing me by my neck. "If I kill you while you're still like this, you'll die forever." he sneers, and I can feel his hand tightening around my neck. My eyes are starting to lose focus, and I feel so weak as my hands try hard to break his hold on me. How pathetic, I think to myself, I never once backed down from a fight or was losing quite this badly. That's when my foot connects with his lower stomach, and his eyes widene
My whole body ached as I struggled to awaken. A heated pain pounded in my back, and I moved to my side, aches going in waves throughout my body. As I opened my eyes, Loss stood near the window, peering outside, body on guard. When he heard me awake, he was by my side, checking me out. "I feel awful." I rasped out, and he disappeared, before returning with a cup of water. I downed it, feeling a bit more like myself. The pain in my body didn't lessen, though, and I slowly sat up, feeling my breathing increase. Loss simply stared at me, and though he didn't show it, I felt like he was disappointed in me. I was the Mistress of Hell after all, and here I was complaining about pains I had gotten in a small fight against Amon of all people. This human skin was no longer of use to me. Hiding myself wasn't an option anymore and if I was going to take back what was mine, I was going to have to reject my human body and accept my demoness existence. I sat up then, lean
I'm bracing myself as a source of heat draws closer and closer to my body, my wings covering me as well. I'm suddenly tackled to the side, and I let out a short yelp, flying to the side as a sudden heated blast skims my arm. I look back to see the whole back side of the hotel destroyed from that attack, my eyes almost out of its sockets. There was no way I would have survived that blast; it caused so much damage, that the building that took the hit instead was already crumbling to pieces. The angel flapped its wings, its giant eye looking for me. Then the other eyes opened as well, and I could feel my heart stop again as they landed on me. "Josie, you have to fly now! I need both hands to open a portal out of here!" Loss shouted, as he cursed at the sight of the angel. I did as I was told, flying next to him as smoke came all around us, covering us from view. "You cannot hide from the wrongdoings of which you caused. The threat must be taken out, so say
The skies have turned into a dark gray, and when the earth cracks open, flames lick the sides of broken ground. A platform made of brimstone, and smell of salt emerges from the ground, the earth trambling at what it's birthed. I must look crazy, or crazy cool, as I sit on the throne made for me. It's made of the bones of the damned, and I grin, flashing the terrified humans a scary smile. Loss is on one side of me, Amon on the other. The replacement leader of Sorren, Roxas, stands behind the throne, facing towards the the crowd, laughing like a maniac at them. I fight an eyeroll, knowing he's doing too much. One of the reasons that the sky has blackened is the wings of the fallen angels, and Nephilim flapped, looking like crows ahd overtaken the skies. Demons waited for my order, as the desire to run chaos ran high. They extend long forked tongues at the humans, licking their lips. I feel their hunger as my own, and my eyes change color, my body preparing to at
The angel dove for me, silently screaming into my mind, and I readied my blade, showing no fear. And there was none; if I could take this angel down, we would win. The War Angel barreled to me, ignoring anyone else, and I did the same. This was my one and only target, and I grabbed my blade just as it's eye began to glow. Wasting no time, I flung it as hard as I could, and it screeched out in pain, the blade meeting it's mark, and sticking smack dab in the center of the pupil. I watched in glee, as the sword began to turn smoky, entering into the cracks it left of the War Angel. The white light of the angel began to dim, turning into a smoky gray lighting, the whiteness turning into a coal black. Even it's feathered wings turned bat-like, the iris of the eyes once ocean blue, and now a crimson blood red color. I had done it. The angel was now under my control, and I was its master. No longer was it a War Angel, now it was a War Demon. I flew over to it, la
My cage is like a glass box, and I pace, my hands blackened from attempting to break out. I've had no word from anyone, and Loss is currently in Heaven, trying to break down the gates. Through my pacing, I can see the black flames burning bright, and if I keep looking, I'll go blind. Lucifer only stepped into my cage once, not saying anything, but looking at me, as if I had secrets he was trying to unravel. I stared back, and then he was back out of the door, hearing the click of a lock sliding back in place. I have no idea what they're going to do to me. The waiting is what's killing me, and I can feel my stomach sink in like I swallowed stones. My wings drape behind me, useless, and I continue to pace. I have no sense of time down here, so I could be here for hours or days, but one day, the door slams open, and Satan steps in, followed by Lucifer behind him. They're giving me cold looks, and shivers run up and down my spine. I don't let them see that I'm afra
