Chapter 17

Riley had nightmares all night and could not sleep very well. It was dawn when she felt so tired and felt her eyes closing, she fell asleep. When Riley woke up she felt a sudden pain in her chest. This was a very sad day for her. She lost the only parent she had left and she knew that she lost a part of her heart. She had lost her mother a few years ago, but she had her father that has always taken care of her. Even when he got married to Tabitha, he would leave her alone, but he would always call her and ask her if she was alright. He would pay for everything, from school, clothes, apartments, vacation, and everything that she wanted. That was not love, but she knew he loved her in his own way. She was preoccupied with her thoughts when there was a knock on her door.

- Come in. she said

- Hey, I just wanted to wake you up, and to see how did you sleep?

- It was okay. I did not get a lot of sleep, but I guess that is normal.

He nodded,  turned around
