I screamed loudly with the last strength in me and all I could hear in response are the echoes of my voice from different angles of the cave. I could feel the water leaking down from the roof of the cave gathering around my leg. Very soon, I will be surrounded by a large pool of water and be drowned to death. 

I shouldn’t have made the decision to come here. I could have gotten on the next flight, running far away from Lord Axel forever but instead, I chose to confront him with the truth; the most dreaded Alpha in all of the werewolves packs. And now, here I am in a cave, with my hand and feet’s tied to a rock, to prevent me from running. But I could feel my baby inside of me and the bruise on my neck; the one he gave me the very night we met, accidentally marking me as his mate. 

I heard the approaching footsteps; shoes stepping into puddles of water just as he stepped into the light. The man dreaded by all existence including other Alphas.  Lord Axel! The one whose name is a whisper on the lips of his many subjects. 

I shifted back in fear just as he took long strides towards me and he crouched down to look me in the eyes. Grabbing my jaw, with his claws digging deep into my skin, he forced me to look up at him. I swallowed hard as his dark eyes filled with fury, met with mine. 

“ No one dares to joke with my feelings! But I see you have so much crazy dreams and desires in your head that you have forgotten who you are dealing with. Let me spell it out for you, that child cannot be mine. Go find whoever got you pregnant to take responsibility of the abomination you are harboring inside of you!” He said, in a tone laced with annoyance. “ I don’t want you anywhere close to my palace!” 

“ What?! You are the father of this child in me! How can you say this child cannot be yours?!” 

“ Because a lady who fools herself at the bar, having sex with a mere stranger, can never be the one to bear my heir!” He said, staring down at me in disgust.

“ What?!” I stared at him in disbelief. Never have I imagined someone would ever speak of me like I am some sort of stripper. 

 “ Isn’t that what you are? That dead drunk lady who goes around sleeping with every stranger who approaches her at the bar,” He chuckled, “ You think I really give a hoot if you were bleeding? All I wanted was to get you laid! Those were just acts I had to put up, young lady.”

“ You are so despicable, Lord Axel! A shame to your own pack!” I spit out in anger, “ Because everyone respects you, you think you can step on everyone you meet?!” 

“ I will give you chance to walk out of this palace free and untouched. One more word from you and you will love to remember how it feels to burnt by an Alpha’s wrath!” He said, sending shivers down my spine. He slowly stood up, looking down on me.

“ I, Lord Sebastian Reynolds, rejects you from being my mate and mother of my heir.”
