Nights out

Chapter 2

Madam Jenna, my boss, stood in front of me, the little look on her face was becoming a wrinkle and I could tell how angry she was just by her looks.

I narrowed my eyes away from her lips, tried to stay calm while breathing softly, I wished she would just say the word, I could literally feel the anger burning from her that was one of my many wolf abilities.

She dropped the files in her hands after going through all the reports and what I have given to her about Mr Alexandro Hale and looks at me.

“What was his reply after the interview ?

Nothing.

She looked at me almost like she would send a bullet through my skull the next moment. What do you mean by that ?

Silence.

I swallowed nothing again and looked directly at her, trying my best not to show how shaky I was at the moment, my boss was a woman in her late fifties, almost not in touch for any jokes she was rude, promiscuous and proud, she was literally one of the most vile humans I had ever have to encounter.

Aria?

“He promised to reply ” I voice out before I could control myself.

My reply didn’t satisfy her but instead she just narrowed her eyes at me before dropping the report on the table.

You have until the end of tomorrow for his reply but if he doesn’t your job is gone.

I said nothing and nodded as I walked out of the office.

My co-workers threw pitiful glances at me. They could tell I just had a hard time with her, yes everyone has a hard time with that woman she was literally the worst.

By the time my work for the day ended, I was back at my familiar apartment that I had rented just a year ago after all the jobs I had to pick in this town.

My work at the publishing company was literally the best. I got a good pay. It's a good thing that I actually studied English, at least when I got here I could fend for myself.

Like my normal routine, I wore my favorite pajamas, there was pop corn and wine as I sipped my drinks. It was normal for my boring life but even as I tried to stay focused there was this lingering feeling that clouded my heart.

I couldn’t get my head off him, his face wouldn’t stop playing in my head over and over, the look on his face when I left scared me to death.

That look I got from him hadn’t left my mind since the interview, somehow it made me so restless, there was something about the way he kept staring at me, this was literally the first time I felt something for the opposite gender and it was fear.

I was so invested in the movie but when Ava walked in, I knew it was her , that was her smell and she had a fucking private key to my apartment.

Ava showed up in front of me dressed in a short bumshoot and booty heels to match the top she had worn, her brunette hair was packed in a messy bum with the heavy makeup on her face.

I wasn’t shocked or surprised, I wanted to scream but before I could say anything she was down to my level kissing me all over my face.

I’m sorry baby, I know I shouldn’t have done that I called but Ethan was sick and I had to….

Stop the crap Ava we both know you didn’t want to go and Ethan just happened to convince you too…

She gets up and sighs in defeat, suddenly her eyes shines as she bends to my level.

Let me make it up to you…

I don’t know how Ava was able to convince me to get out of the house and considering that I was going to lose that job after my explanation to her about how the interview went she had promised me that there was no way Mr Hale was calling back.

The last party I had was in high school, with my friends, my family and even my pack and yes I was happy but twice my heart had been broken and now I’m all alone.

“Two cups of vodka please” I said to the bartender as I glummed in the last cup. Ava sat beside me absolutely shocked. She had this look of amusement on her face that made me laugh. She didn’t know I had such a high tolerance for drinks, I was on my 15th cup but yet I wasn’t feeling drunk, not even in the slightest.

“That’s enough, I think we need to hit the dance floor.” She says pulling me off.

The dance floor was exactly what I had imagined it to be and even as the beat and the music got louder, I danced moving my waist to its rhythm.

Ava slipped away into the crowd and now I was feeling a little drunk, I walked out of the bar

Outside felt a bit deserted as everyone was inside having the best time of their lives but suddenly the smell hit me first, cinnamon, cigarettes.

That smell, it was familiar.

My eyes darted to my left and I saw the familiar figure standing by his car and there he was Alexandro Hale standing away from the club watching me like he owned me.

For a second we both stared at each other, the face cap he wore and his simple look would make it so difficult for anyone to recognize but I did, even if my eyes were closed that smell would never leave.

With my heart pounding hard against my chest, I rushed back into the club as I scanned the whole area for Ava but not even a glimpse of her was seen.

I quickly grabbed another cup of vodka taking it all down as I grabbed the car key just in my purse but as I tried to move again, I smelled him , but this time not far away, it was closer, closer than I could even imagine, he was standing right behind me.

My heart pounded hard against my chest, almost threatening to come out of my mouth.

I turned and this time those familiar pairs of brown eyes that I had encountered earlier today were just a pace away from me. My words get choked on my mouth.

In the next few seconds we were both staring at each other speechless and lost in thought.

“Mr Hale”…. I whispered when I finally found my voice instead he placed his fingers against my lips, shushing me.

I knew I wasn’t fine, my head kept spiking around like fireworks, “ Are you stalking me now Mr billionaire” I said loudly and bodily enough for anyone beside me to hear but thanks to the loud music no one did.

He looked at me, the questioning gaze on his face but what I felt next left me speechless, his warm lips were on mine and yes like it screamed in my head that I was being kissed by him.

I wanted to scream, smack him hard across his face but instead I wrap my hands around his neck and slowly slide my tongue in his mouth.

It all happened so fast because the next moment I was being pulled towards the vip section wrapped in the arms of the man I shouldn’t have gotten involved with.
