Xander’s POV

The chains rattled, echoing through the dungeon like a death knell. Damion was on his knees, blood slicking his chest, his breath shallow but still defiant. Lucius had done his job well, breaking the mighty Alpha down until he was nothing more than a trembling shadow of power. And yet, the bastard still glared at me as if he could kill me with his eyes alone.

But the real victory wasn’t in Damion’s suffering. It was in her.

Mia.

She stood frozen, her hands trembling at her sides, eyes locked on her mate. Her lips parted in a silent plea, as if her very breath was begging for him. I stepped behind her, my chest brushing her back, and whispered into her ear, “You stole from me. You thought you could outsmart me, ruin me… and now you’ll pay. With your body.”

She stiffened, but she didn’t deny it. She didn’t even look at me, her gaze never left Damion.

“You want him to live?” I hissed, dragging my finger along her jaw. “Then you’ll give me what I’ve craved for years. You’ll l

Lyra(Mia’s)POVThe night bled silver, the full moon heavy above us, its light taunting in its purity while everything beneath it rotted. I knew something was wrong long before the rogues shoved me through the gates of the ruin. Their hands gripped my arms like iron, but it wasn’t their touch that froze me.It was the sound. The sound of a wolf howling in agony. My heart stopped. That voice—I would know it anywhere. Damion. They dragged me into the clearing, and there he was.Caged.Chains of silver burned across his arms, his chest, his throat. His wolf form flickered, half-shifted, his claws tearing at the restraints until blood streaked his skin. His eyes those crimson, cursed eyes met mine through the bars, and the rage there nearly knocked me off my feet.“MIA!” His roar rattled the air, shaking the rusted iron of the cage. “Get back! Don’t you—” His words cut into snarls as the silver seared him again.I lunged forward, but a hand clamped around my waist, pulling me back against

Xander’s POVThe night air was sharp, carrying the scent of smoke and damp earth as I followed the coordinates Lucius had sent. The place was as abandoned as it was foreboding—a crumbled ruin at the edge of rogue territory, where no Elder would dare look for me.A fire crackled in the center of the clearing, its glow painting the shadows in hues of blood. And there he was.Lucius.He looked nothing like the stories whispered about him in the halls of power. His frame was leaner now, his beard streaked with gray, but his eyes… his eyes burned with the same hunger I had seen in Damion’s wolf. Except Lucius’s wasn’t tempered by honor. His was wild, feral, poisonous.“Alpha Xander,” he greeted, his voice a rasp, but dripping with mockery. “Or should I say… soon-to-be dethroned Alpha?”I bared my teeth, stepping closer. “You summoned me. Speak your piece before I lose my patience.”Lucius chuckled, shaking his head. “Patience. That’s exactly what I like about you. You still think you have

Damion’s POV The rejection burned deeper than any wound I’d ever taken in battle. Her eyes, sharp and unyielding, had cut deeper than any blade. You’ll never have me, Xander. Not in this lifetime. Not in the next. The words echoed, poisoned, turning every heartbeat into torment. And then there was Damion. His wolf had nearly ripped me apart for daring to stand too close to her. I’d seen the crimson glow in his eyes, the way his claws curled like blades at his side. If she hadn’t stepped between us, I would have been dead by now. That wasn’t just protection that was possession. He was staking his claim in the most primal way possible.By the time I left Bloodhound pack, my hands shook with fury. My pride?shattered. My secrets? stolen. My reputation? hanging by a thread. If Mia handed those files to Damion, every deal, every alliance, every shadow I had built would collapse. And she had done it with a smile. This wasn’t about her anymore. Not about wanting her. Not about obsession. This

CHAPTER 114Xander’s POV The discovery hit me like a blade to the gut.The files. The ones that held my leverage, my power, my empire were gone. A week of searching, tearing through every corner of my office, every guard questioned, every lock broken. My Beta swore he had seen them locked away in my study two nights prior the meeting with Mia. My Gamma checked the archives through, sweating bullets as I turned the room upside down. No break-in, no trail, no clue. Just gone. But I knew better. Those papers weren’t just numbers and lists. They were my lifeblood records of shipments, black-market contracts, the bribes I’d paid to keep certain elders loyal. Without them, my empire looked spotless from the outside, but a single whisper, a single leak, and it would all burn.Until finally, a whisper reached me. A single thread of truth. It wasn’t an accident. It was theft. A knife slipped under my ribsMia.She had stolen them. That damned woman had walked into my den, stolen the lifebloo

Nyla’s POVThe council chamber smelled of old parchment and colder intentions. Candlelight flickered across the faces of elders who had spent decades playing the politics of power. They watched me with expectation, curiosity, even fear. Perfect.Xander sat across from me, his jaw tight, eyes narrowed—not with love, but suspicion. I allowed a soft, calculated smile to touch my lips.“Your Grace,” Elder Thorn began cautiously, “we hear troubling reports…”I let the words hang, letting the room fill with tension before I spoke. “Troubling? Yes. But manageable… if guided by wisdom and decisiveness.” My gaze landed on Xander. The man who believed our marriage was built on devotion. How quaint. How laughable. He swallowed, his hand flexing on the arm of his chair. “What are you implying, Nyla?”I leaned forward, just slightly, enough for the candlelight to dance on my face. “I am implying,” I said softly, deliberately, “that leadership requires more than sentiment. It requires foresight. An
