My mouth falls open and I blink while she just pours tea like it’s the most normal thing in the world. She knows that I can’t remember the past year, but does she know why?

“What’s going on, Messiah?” I ask, putting my face in my hands. “I was beginning to think that maybe I’ve lost my mind.”

She laughs and hands me a cup of tea. “I don’t know for sure what happened to you, but I do know that you might be twenty physically, but you’re still that nineteen-year-old girlat heart who used to let people walk all over you.”

“How?” I shake my head, putting the tea on the table. “Did I lose my memories of the last year?”

“Not exactly,” she says slowly, as if trying to figure out how to tell me something bigger.

“I hate riddles,” I mutter with a frown.

“Okay.” She shifts in her chair. “I believe that you…” She points at me. “Haven’t lived the past year. I think that nineteen-year-old you, this you, travelled into this future and into twenty-year-old you’s body, after a traumatic experience.”

I blink. That sounds nuts. There’s no such thing as time travel. She must be more coo-coo than I am.

“I could feel it when I sensed you being cornered by the vampires,” she continues. “The energy surrounding you. You’re the nineteen-year-old, but there are still parts of the twenty-year-old inside you. You’ll gradually gain her memories. That’s if you don’t go back to your time.”

‘Oh, Moon Goddess, have we all gone crazy?’ Momo mutters with a dramatic eye-roll that almost makes me laugh.

“That doesn’t make any sense,” I say, glaring at Messiah.

“I know.” She nods and sips her tea. “But it’s true.”

“So I really go crazy at twenty?” I narrow my eyebrows.

She bursts out laughing and almost spills the tea. She puts the cup down and laughs into her hand. I just watch her, completely dumbfounded, cause what the actual fucker. She’s gotten stronger and crazier at the same time.

She tries to pull herself together and speak, but fails.

“Can you just be serious for a second?” I murmur, but it makes her laugh even harder.

What did I ever do to deserve this?

I wait as she slowly regains her marbles.

“Yes,” she whispers with a sniffle. “Technically, you didn’t. You just kept mumbling on and on about a fire that no one else remembers, but other than that, you were completely sane.”

That’s reassuring. At least I wasn’t bat-shit crazy.

“Was there a fire?” I ask and hold my breath, cause if she tells me there was no fire, I’m gonna lose my shit.

She shakes her head and fights a laugh. “I don’t remember a fire, but I think there was.”

I sigh. My hands suddenly feel cold even though it’s warm, but I decide against reaching for the tea.

I look at her. “Why? Why did you believe me, or why do you believe me?”

She shrugs. “I don’t know. You strongly believed that it happened, and whenever I touched you, I could see just how strongly you felt like it was a real memory and not a nightmare.”

I clear my throat and lean forward. “I had another memory earlier. Someone dragged me out of that fire, a dark-haired woman with green eyes. She said that no one should ever remember, including myself.”

The amusement disappears from her face. Her eyes stay on mine, and something about the way she goes completely still makes the back of my neck prickle.

“Dark hair and green eyes?” she repeats quietly.

I nod, watching her carefully. “Yes. Why?”

She slowly puts her cup down without taking a sip. “Did she say anything else?”

My eyebrows pull together. “She said I’d heal eventually. Then she told me no one would remember what happened. Not even me. That’s all.”

Messiah's face tightens, and she looks away for a second. I see her throat work as she swallows then look back at me.

“Billie, green-eyed witches aren't exactly known for good intentions.”

I stare at her. “She’s a witch?”

“Now I 100% believe there was a fire.” She nods once. “Some witches have green eyes naturally, but there are certain bloodlines where it's more than a physical trait. They're associated with dark magic and vampires. And they can alter memory on a massive scale.”

I bite my inner cheek as my mouth goes dry. A witch who can alter memories on a massive scale. Why would anyone need to do that to our pack, to me?

I glance toward the exit leading into the living room, listening the twins playing with the nurse. I don’t know if any of this has anything to do with me, or if it’s generally a pack thing, but my first instinct is to protect them against all odds.

“What about Trojan?” I ask, looking back at Messiah. “And the twins?”

Her eyes soften, and I notice some pity there. “What about them?”

I clear my throat uncomfortably, trying really hard not to smile. “How did Trojan and I happen?”

She laughs a little and shakes her head. “You both said you were drunk, then you just decided to go with it because of the kids. I don’t know. I didn’t pry, it feels wrong when it’s not a matter of pack security."

Trojan’s POVAlpha Kione is sitting across from me in the pack house conference room, his arms folded while two of his senior wolves sit beside him. Maps of the surrounding territories cover the table, marked with the places where the vampires crossed our boundaries.I personally would rather be anywhere else than sitting in front of him. Mainly because just seeing his face makes me want to shoot him in the neck. But here we are, talking pack safety.“They walked straight through your borders,” Kione says, tapping one of the marked areas on the map. “No warning. No formal challenge. If your patrol hadn’t caught them when they did, they would have been inside your residential sector before anyone noticed.”He doesn’t have the real details of what actually went down, and I prefer it that way. Anything Kione knows, the entire East Wood ends up knowing. “I’m aware,” I answer, keeping my voice measured. He glares at me like I’ve been ignorant. “Then you understand why the rest of us

“It broke,” I mutter, because that’s the best explanation available. I have nothing else to offer.Whitmore raises an eyebrow. “I can see that.”A few students laugh, and I shove the broken pieces into my bag before anyone can make another comment. Marcus surprisingly doesn't even say anything. I try to ignore the smell of blood drifting through the open window but it’s hard to focus when my urges are screaming at me to jump out the window. I press my lips together and try to breathe through my mouth.I awkwardly look around the classroom and notice Macy watching me funny. I roll my eyes, barely, and turn back to the front.Moon Goddess, what the hell is happening to me? It’s been one bad shit after another. First a fire, and now I want to sink my teeth into someone.‘Why do you want her blood?’ Momo asks, sounding just as confused as I feel.‘I don’t know,’ I mutter inside my head, keeping my eyes on my notebook. ‘Maybe I’m morphing into a vampire.’‘That’s not funny.’‘Then

I stare at him, trying to figure out what his angle is. It’s strange that Marcus didn’t even follow him when he followed me. This could just be another dumb prank, but I don’t remember him telling Marcus or anyone that I was his fated mate. He wanted to keep it under wraps so his pack and ours wouldn’t mock him, along with basically everyone else at the academy.“I don’t remember doing any rejecting,” I mutter and start walking faster toward administration.I need to find out what my classes are and my schedule, not deal with this shit. At least he doesn’t follow me.I get my schedule and find out that I changed my course from Business Administration to Pack History and Governance.I blink at the paper a couple of times. “What the fuck?”The woman behind the desk looks up at me. “Is there a problem?”I look down at my schedule again, hoping the words will somehow change if I stare at them long enough. “I changed my course?”“Yes.” She glances at her computer. “You requested the

He slips his hands back under my ass and lifts off the counter, keeping my legs wrapped around his torso as he walks us upstairs to our bedroom. He puts me on the bed and his mouth is on my nipple, sucking and nibbling.I chuckle under my breath as I think that there’s no way he isn’t getting the milk in his mouth whenever he licks on me like that. He doesn’t seem to care. His leaves my tit and his mouth meets mine in a soft, wet kiss that makes me gasp.He breaks his lips from mine and looks at me, still intense and hungry. “I’ll never get enough of you.”Something moves from my stomach up my chest and squeezes. “I like the sound of that.”I do, but his words still ring that this is just an arrangement. One that’ll come to an abrupt end when his mate comes along. And I hope I’ll be alright when that happens. Everything will be back to normal and the whole memories thing will be solved.“You suddenly seem distracted,” he whispers, his eyes sweeping over my face. I smile and sha

“Trojan!” I whisper, my back arching as he continues stroking my clit in hurried circles. We’re in the kitchen, and only the under-cabinet lights are on. The nurse left maybe ten minutes ago after putting the twins to sleep in the nursery.Trojan has my ass on the counter with my shorts and panties hanging on one ankle, and his hand between my legs like he’s been waiting for me all evening. I wasn’t even gone four hours. His other hand is holding my thigh in place, making sure I remain spread out while his fingers work me and apply pressure at the same time. I’m so embarrassingly wet that I can feel it dripping between my ass cheeks.Every time he presses a little harder I have to bite my lip to keep from making noise.“You’re so easy for me,” he murmurs, sounding very pleased with himself.I try to glare at him but my head falls back against the counter when his thumb swipes over my clit again and my whole body jumps. He chuckles quietly and slides tw
