Darius stood leaning against the windowsill of Julian’s cabin. His lean physique was the envy of many pack members.

“I hear that we have a new recruit,” said Darius as Julian leaned back in his creaking leather chair.

“Yes, we do. Caleb seems to be fitting in nicely. He is keen to learn and that’s always a promising attribute of a new Omega.” Julian had been keeping a keen eye on Caleb and he noticed that Seth had taken him under his wing.

“I see that Seth has taken a keen interest in the boy. May I ask why?” Darius had no clue of Caleb’s backstory and liked being in the know of all of the new recruits.

“His father used to be an important part of our pack. I’m sure you remember Alex. His death still pains me to this day.” A look of sadness crossed Julian’s face as he spoke about Alex, one of his best friends and confidants.
