Chapter 19: Life matters

"May kidney stones ang Papa ko at kasalukuyan po siyang naka-admit sa hospital, Sir." this is the first time that I learned something from her, and I didn't expect it to be so sad and tragic.

She must be hanging in there for a while now. I wonder how she keeps those pretty smiles and a good sense of humor despite her narrow situation?

I don't know what to say, I feel sad for her, however I don't know how to deliver my sympathy. Is it still right to ask something private like this? Did I invade her personal life too much?

The sadness from her voice and in her eyes made me gasped the guilt I cannot undo.

"I'm sorry to hear that..." I mumbled my apology towards her, pero nginitian niya lamang ako.

"Ayus lang po, wala ka namang kasalanan." I know she just spared me from regrets, because she had no choice but to do so.

"But, I asked about your private matters." I stated in a low visible tone.

"Kinuwento-han mo rin naman ako tungkol sa pribado mong buhay, kwets lang tayo Sir."
