Waters Flight

“Alaska,” Her beautiful chimes rang out after the fluff that took off. She just smirked as she slowly rose from where she was enjoying the afternoon sun. She had found a clearing where they decided to take rest. The trees surrounded the area, giving her protection from the wind. The brush hiding the paths out as animals secretly watched her. They where intrigued a human with as much Grace and beauty would be in there forest. They did not feel threatened by her nor did they feel she would ruin there peaceful home.She gently stepped away from the clearing following the path her puppy had run down. It waited for her to follow before leaving a short distance. She just giggled as she ran after it. The forest giving her peace knowing nothing was here to harm her. She carefully placed the baskets down as her fingers sorted through the food. There had to be something in here she could feed him. With a sigh he fingers finally fell on a container of mashed potato’s. She quickly pulled it out as well as the BBQ chicken. She knew he might not be able to chew but she would break the pieces up quite small he wouldn’t need to but his body would at least get some protein.Alaska whined happily as she watched her mom pull apart the chicken ever so gently. She wanted a piece, it looked so deliciously juicy. She really didn’t know what it was but it looked good and that all that mattered to her. She smiled looking over at her puppy watching her. With a firm grasp she pulled off a bigger piece and threw it over. Alaska quickly jumped on it and began to bark happily. The taste was something she never tasted before.Getting the fire going once more she placed some of the mashed potato’s and chicken onto a rock close by

There trek was slow and painful. Anya did the best she could hiding her pain from Derek’s watchful eyes. She stopped her self only when the sun was high in the sky to eat and check his bandages. She was happy none of them where bleeding through, she however didn’t like the look of her own knees. They where swollen and painful. Anya woke up the next morning refreshed. She hadn’t slept like this in a while. Snuggling up to Derek he moaned happily. Her smile turned into a frown as the previous day all hit her at once. He held her tight fearing the worst even though he knew she could brake his hold. He was exhausted and hungry. Two things that where wearing on him harshly. What was worse is he didn’t want to see her collapse again.“No please.” He pleaded when he felt her try and rise. She stopped however and laid back down. She couldn’t deny him, specially after he did save her. She couldn’t figure out how but she knew it had to do with something he had been hiding. She happily watched him remove the contents off the spoon. His lips carefully enclosing around it so nothing would fall. He chewed slowly and carefully. He didn’t want any of it to choke him for it would cause her worry. Something he wished to stay away from. She was already worried about enough. He was however excited to explain to her everything he knew about his history. She however wouldn’t let him till he had completely finished his food.Alaska happily pulled her bowl that had been filled with food over so she was closer to her mommy. So much had gone on for her that she felt safest being close. Neither one minded. She was growing on Derek to the point he knew when they parted ways he would miss her. He would miss Anya more but he knew a human would never be welcomed in his house. His mother was extremely against them though he wasn’t sure why.
