Chapter 1: Desperate Times

Third Person POV

“Klaus, are you sure about what you plan to do?” Asked his friend Andrew.

An Alpha who saw the Omega as his little brother even though he was two years older than him. 

He did not agree with his friend's decision. He was terrified at the thought of his friend suffering when he has to be separated from the puppy. Why come on he is an Omega and his maternal instincts might come out and he might get so attached to the creature that he might even commit insanity because of it. 

He didn't know how to make his friend understand that his idea was extremely lousy but there was no power to change his mind. 

“Yes Drew, I told you I can't find any other way out of this hell of a life he led. And believe me, I'd rather give my womb being a virgin than give my body in a sleazy bar, I know it's not the best decision and I might suffer, but I've thought it through and I can't find another solution” Said the boy very sure of his decision. 

“I know Klaus. But please think again. You know that I can't help you as much as I would like to, but you have my unconditional support always.”

“Thank you, Drew, you know it took me a long time to make this decision but there is no other way to get money as fast as I need it.” Klaus promised.

Klaus knew that he was reaching his limit, the Bank was suffocating him, they called him every day without fail to collect, and no matter how much he asked for the time they did not stop nagging him. To make matters worse, the delinquents, gangster, or whatever you want to call them were after him, he did not know how the hell they got his number and address but now they were not only looking for him to get paid, no gentlemen, they were after his bones. Bones because he didn't even have any flesh because he was so malnourished. 

And we must clarify something. Klaus is a beautiful being, the most fucking sexy and tender Omega you have ever seen. How is it possible to be sexy and tender at the same time? Only Klaus Oakluster has that gift, definitely. 

Letting out a snort he headed to the bathroom to take a relaxing shower and give himself the last bit of encouragement he had not to back out of what he had already decided. That day he would go to the clinic he found on the Internet to ask for information and leave his details, which obviously specialized in all areas. He was not going to risk going to a clandestine place that could bring double consequences and more problems to his sad life. 

When Klaus came out, he changed with all the patience in the world and went out, his friend was already ready to accompany him, and Andrew was not going to leave him alone at any time.

They both went down the stairs of that horrible building that was already falling down and unfortunately, the elevator had not been working for years before he came to live there. You can imagine the torture of going up and down to the eighth floor every day. Better not to think about it. 

They took the bus and went to the address that was written on the clinic's website. When they arrived they were greeted by a very friendly Beta woman, with long black hair and very nice attitude. 

“Good afternoon, welcome, my name is Vera, how can I help you?” Said the Beta in a very friendly way. Something that reassured the Omega and Alpha, for the kindness received. 

“I... I wanted to ask for information about...” Klaus was silent for a moment, he was very nervous and it was hard for him to formulate words correctly: “About surrogacy, I want to do that” Klaus said in a quick and low way that was hard for both presents to understand, but they managed to do it. 

Klaus felt that he was dying of nerves and fear. 

“Oh!” exclaimed the Beta, very surprised by the words of the tender Omega in front of her: “Sorry, I was a little surprised. Honestly, not many Omegas come for that kind of information, usually it's female Betas that come. But to answer your question... You must first fill out a form, with all your data and undergo certain tests that tell us that your body and health are fit to enter the list” 

Informed the girl, but when she saw the surprised and worried faces of both she continued explaining: “Don't worry, the process is not very long at the moment there are not more than twenty-five people, mostly Betas, as I mentioned before. When there are Omegas on the list they are the ones most often chosen because of their higher percentage to test positive. If you consider that your body may not be fit or if the analysis indicates it, you can always enter the list but if you sign a document where you commit to improving your health, in case someone chooses you, you will be in excellent condition” finished explaining the black-haired girl. 

Both Klaus and Andrew were in a small trance processing all the information, they didn't think it would be so complicated and much less that they would have to wait in a list that who knows how long it will take to advance. 

“More or less how long does it take to advance that list?” Asked a stunned Klaus. 

“The truth is that dates can vary, it's never certain when a couple or whoever will show up asking to see the list. But lately, the list has been advancing very fast so there aren't that many.” 

“Does taking exams and all that comes at a price?” Asked the Omega, who was already panicking. 

“No, of course not, they are free, part of the registration f*e, we do them simply as a protocol and to make sure that the applicant does not have any disease. The costs are always paid by the couple that requested a womb.”

“Look, Miss Vera… I think you've noticed that my body is... is a little bit... broken…” Said Klaus in an amused but worried tone: “But I really need to get on that list and be chosen as soon as possible, please” asked the Omega on the verge of desperation. 

“Well, young man...” Said the girl with a sad smile.

“Klaus Oakluster.”

“Sir. Oakluster, we know that the applicants to enter the list always have their reasons for doing so, which is clearly none of our business. But I will try to do my best so that you can be chosen from the list as soon as possible, I don't know why you do it, but keep in mind that this is delicate and more you being an Omega and our priority is and always will be the welfare of our patients.” 

Those words stirred something inside the Omega, a warm feeling that made him hesitate for a moment and pull back. But he knew that his need for the money was far greater at the moment. 

“One more question” Asked Andrew: “How much is the payment for doing this?” 

That unsettled the Alpha who had been silent all the time. He did not believe that his friend would be so direct. 

The Beta had understood the boy's situation from the beginning, so she wasn't surprised but it caught her attention instantly. What kind of trouble was that cute Omega in to desperately want to be chosen? 

So keeping her kind smile, she said: “That decision is usually made between the patient, which in this case would be you, and the person who rents your womb. It depends on how much the person is willing to pay to have a womb available. Although if I am honest with you it is more or less between $500,000 and a million or more, considering the ‘buyer’ so to speak.”

Ok, Klaus was stunned at the girl's response. He never believed that people would be willing to pay that kind of money to have children. Such an amount of money would solve his whole life.

“Are you willing to join the list, Klaus?” Asked the black-haired girl. 

“Yes” He answered without hesitating a second more. 

“That’s fine, how about starting the tests and filling out the form to add you to the list once and for all?”’ She asked again. 

After that, the Omega underwent several tests to rule out any disease and to see the boy's health. As he predicted, he was undernourished, almost anemic, and with low defenses. 

He received a little scolding from the doctor who attended him and also from the Beta who was watching the boy. Vera had been struck by the desperate way he had to get on the list, it seemed a little sad that a boy as beautiful as Klaus was in such a situation, and something in her told her that it would not be bad to give him a little help. 

When all the required analyses and tests were done, they filled out the form with all the required information. They filled out the form with all the information and data requested and the Beta took care of writing it down on the list.

Thus unknowingly remaining as the only Omega on the list. 

They said goodbye to the kind and friendly Beta who took care of them. 

They went to their ‘home’ if you can call it that. Not knowing that from that day on the Omega's life was going to change unimaginably.
