"How do I look?" I spin around and give her a free show of my outfit. The beads sown to the dress make clacking sounds as the hit each other, and I adjust the top which had no sleeves. Janelle Brown, my best friend since second year at college, sits on my bed, her legs crossed and an half empty glass of wine in her hands as she accesses my outfit.
I'm wearing a short blue dress, extended at the front and back with beads made into the form of a rope, little round silver beads that shimmers with the room's light. I usually never wore dresses like this, but in Janelle's words, I had to dress to kill. Literally kill my date with hotness. The dress made me slightly uncomfortable because it had no sleeves and it felt like it would just drop any second, but Janelle says as long as the rope behind is tied tightly, there's no way the dress would fall down."Gorgas babe!" She grins at me, no, at my outfit. "He's going to be drooling when he sees you, babe, I swear. I like what you did to your hair too, it's pretty."I run my hand over my braided hair and smile. Being black comes with many beautiful advantages. One of them is our natural, rich, thick hair. I went to the saloon and styled them into four big braids, two small ones in between the big ones at the front so it falls on my face, right on top of the two bridges of nose. I use some of my hair accessories to decorate the hair and stare at myself in the mirror once more."Do you think it's too much?" My anxiety creeps in. My smile turns into a frown, my lips puckering as I stared at myself again. Janelle scoffs behind me."What are you talking about? Girl, you look perfect. You're going to some fancy restaurant anyway, and you know them rich people like to dress to Impress. You outfit is spot on!""Okay," I sigh, picking up my phone to check if I have any new messages. From Mr Handsome >>>I'm outside.-2 minutes agoI gasp, " He's outside!" I exclaim, suddenly freaking out again. Janelle jumps up, drops her glass on the table nearby and helps me pick up my purse. She rubs my back to calm me down."Relax babe, Relax. It's going to be a good night.""It's going to be a good night." I repeat, nodding to myself and exhaling. After a couple more seconds of me trying to fucking breath properly again, I make my way towards the door with Janelle following behind me. We meet him standing outside, his body leaning on his white Ferrari. He looks almost good to eat with the suit, the chain, the hair and everything. I can smell his cologne from here.Jeezus."Hey beautiful," He smiles at me the moment I get to him. I smile back because I'm not sure if i can trust my voice."Hi Kaivan," Janelle chirps, waving at him. Kai turns his head towards her direction and smiles charmingly at her."Hello there, Janelle." Kaivan Arnand is one of the most talked about business men in the city. He's been the front cover of Eleo Zaleo Magazine's hottest bachelor business men. He makes right about millions every day, let not talk about in a year. He's dated multiple high class girls, models and actresses throughout the years and formed alliances with fellow powerful and prestigious empires around the world. How the hell did I score a date with a man like him you'd ask? Especially when I'm just boring ol' me, who doesn't own a business yet, have millions in my account or dated anyone in forever. I guess you could just say I was lucky? This isn't something that happens everyday and I just was lucky enough to be in the same cafe he was in that day. We bumped into each other, we apologized, he asked to buy me coffee, we went to get coffee, and three weeks later we're going on a date to some fancy shmancy restaurant uptown.Lucky is an understatement.I finally met someone who I share similar interests with and is interested in me. I haven't had a boyfriend since seventh grade because guys my age never really found me attractive. Being a lone wolf didn't really help either. The last time I had sex was five years ago and it was a drunken, hasty and painful experience. I just wanted to get it over with and get my virginity taken so I could prove to some jackass I wasn't a prude. We ended up having drunk sex and I woke up with no memory of the night, a stained bedsheet and an awful pain in between my thighs. The asshole couldn't even wait for me to wake up, he left before I woke up and ignored me til we graduated."Keep my girl happy, she's been a jittery mess throughout this evening." I glare at her.He did NOT need to know that, Janelle. What the fuck?"Thanks a lot." I murmur sarcastically, eyeing her in annoyance. The little backstabber has the audacity to smirk at me. Just you wait, you little bitch. I narrow my eyes at her."You don't have to worry about that." Kai chuckles, wrapping his large arms around me and filling me with warmth. Butterflies erupt in my stomach as he plants a feather like kiss on my temple. I feel his warm breath on my cheek , then my ear as he whispers something to me."Let's get going, shall we?" I nod dumbly, shivers running down my spine as he plants a kiss behind my ear too. Suddenly I feel hot."Have fun!" Janelle says as we walk towards his car. I'm able to catch a glimpse of her once more before I get inside and I blush when she mouths to me,'get that D, babe'I'm hoping on it.The night was eerily quiet, the kind of silence that wrapped around you like a heavy blanket, making you acutely aware of every breath, every heartbeat. The moon hung high in the sky, a silver orb casting an ethereal glow over the clearing that surrounded Kaivan’s cabin. The air was thick with a strange energy, a tension that made my skin tingle and my heart race.I stood at the edge of the clearing, feeling the pull of something I couldn’t quite name. It was as if the forest itself was alive, the trees whispering secrets I wasn’t yet privy to, the wind carrying an ancient, otherworldly melody that I couldn’t fully hear but could feel deep in my bones. I wrapped my arms around myself, not because I was cold, but because I needed to hold onto something—anything—real in that moment.Kaivan stood a few feet away, his eyes reflecting the moonlight like liquid silver. There was something in his gaze that unsettled me, a depth that went beyond the man I had known for such a short time yet f
The drive to the cabin took longer than I expected, but the scenery made it feel like something out of a dream. Towering pines lined both sides of the road, their branches swaying as if they held secrets I wasn’t meant to know. Kaivan sat next to me, his eyes fixed on the road, his usual easy-going attitude replaced by a tense silence. His grip on the steering wheel was tighter than usual, and I could feel his unease, even if he didn’t say a word."You're awfully quiet," I finally said, glancing at him, hoping to lighten the mood.He gave me a small smile, one that didn’t quite reach his eyes. "Just thinking," he replied. "I hope you like the cabin. It’s… special."Something about the way he said "special" sent a flicker of curiosity through me. I’d known Kaivan long enough to tell when something was bothering him, but this time felt different, like he was holding back something big, something important."I’m sure I’ll love it," I said, giving his hand a squeeze. "I’m just glad to be
The dream began like any other—hazy, disjointed images swirling in a foggy, surreal landscape. But as I wandered through the mist, everything sharpened into focus. I found myself in an unfamiliar place, a lush, green meadow bathed in the soft light of the setting sun. The golden hues of the sky bled into deep purples and blues, the air warm against my skin. It was a place of peace, yet a sense of anticipation thrummed in my veins, as though something significant was about to happen. I wasn’t alone. I felt them before I saw them—Kaivan and Kaycen. They appeared as if they’d always been there, emerging from the shadows of the trees that lined the meadow’s edge. Their presence was magnetic, pulling me toward them with an intensity that made my breath hitch. Kaivan was the first to step forward, his eyes locking onto mine with an expression that was both tender and possessive. His shirt clung to his muscled torso, his dark hair tousled as if he’d been running his hands through it. The
I turned to Kaycen and he had a goofy smile on his face. "What?" I giggled."You're beautiful," he whispered.I smiled and hugged them both."Let's have dinner together," I suggested."Sure," they both said. They took me to their house and I made my way to their kitchen to cook.I first suggested we went to a restaurant to eat, but Kai said it'd be better we ate at their house, he also asked if I could spend the night with them, and I told him I would. I cooked pasta while they watched. After I set the table, I served dinner."This is delicious, Didi." Kaycen smiled."It is," Kaivan agreed."Thank you, boys." I giggled. We ate in silence for a few minutes. Then Kaycen looked at me. "What do you want to do tonight?""Watch a movie?" I suggested."I like that idea," Kaivan said."So do I," Kaycen added."Okay," I said. "But we have to do the dishes first."They nodded and we cleaned the kitchen. After we were done, I sat on the couch and the boys joined me."What movie do you want to wat
It was early in the morning and the sun was yet to fully rise when D Black found himself waking up next to the woman he loved. Despite the macho exterior of a robotic man, he was unashamed to say that his heart always felt soft, even vulnerable, around her. His Tiana. His steel grey eyes skimmed over her peaceful face, and the corners of his mouth quirked upward into a smile. This woman had found her way through the formidable fortresses of his heart and made it her own."Gotta leave now, baby," he murmured gently into her ear, leaning in to nuzzle the nape of her neck. A soft sigh of disapproval left her, mumbled protests half asleep. But she rolled over, rubbing her eyes, strands of dark hair obscuring half her face. She rose her head to press a tender kiss to his rugged chin, mumbling an incoherent murmur that meant something like 'Good Luck.'"You're coming back soon, right?" Her eyes peered up at him, dark with the raw, unspoken fear of missing him."Sure thing, honey. I'll be bac
Kaycen wasn't as patient as Kaivan, he wanted his mate to be in his arms right away, he didn't care to understand how Didi felt about all this. How confused and hesitant she was about two men wanting her at the same time. She also had no idea they weren't humans and she was their soulmate. Kaivan knew this and understood, that's why he wanted to take things slow . "Kaivan -" "You need to calm the fuck down, Kayc. I want her just as much as you, Kayc. Hell, I need her, but we have to take things slow. Understand that and please let's focus on the business meeting we have with D Black." Kaivan cut Kaycen off saying. "I know, I know, I'm sorry, I'm just so fucking horny!" Kaycen laughed and Kaivan rolled his eyes. "Kayc, we are going to have a problem if you keep talking like that! You're not getting any of her for a while!" Kaivan said laughing."I don't give a shit, I want her now!" Kaycen said. "You can't be serious, you have a meeting tomorrow morning with a major investor a
