MasukChapter 17
Jenna's POV
I've been here for three days and everyone is so good to me. They treat me like I have been here forever. Especially my mother-in-law. She takes care of Jared most of the day. I only get him in my arms when he's hungry.
Sometimes I miss the feeling of having my son in my arms. But mom is idle these days. Ever since she stepped down from the title, she hasn't taken part in any pack-related politics.
Even yesterday, there was some problem in the kitchens. She asked me to solve it as it's my job now.
Besides, she is the safest person to keep around Jared. I know I'm on a small break before I'm revealed to my responsibilities. It will happen soon as Jace comes back.
He said he might come back tomorrow.
So, it's actually good. When I'm gone, mom can take care of him.
Right now, I was sitting in the huge living hall with my mother-in-law. She was giving Jared a massage with her own hands while the maiden-nanny watched from behind.
"When I had Jace, I used to do his massage. His nanny was only there to guide me." She said as she massaged his legs.
"How did you manage it... The baby and the duties?"
"It comes naturally, sweetie. The pack is like a child for Alpha and Luna. You are experienced already, aren't you? You will know how to perform your duties as a Luna Queen and as a mother on your own." I shyly nodded.
Another thing that amuses me is that they all know about my past. Yet none has spoken disdainfully about it. Only Liza uses it to mock me (yeah, she's been after my case since I came. Although Jace told me to mute her out, she screams a lot), rest everyone else treats me like I was a virgin before.
"And if you ever need help, I'll be a call away."
"You won't stay here?" I asked incredulously.
"Adamson doesn't want us to." Her eyes turned sad. "He said if we stay with our son, he will instinctively depend on us for help. But as a king, he needs to navigate through life alone."
"That's valid. What about Jared? Won't you both miss him?" As I finished, mom's hands stalled on Jared's legs.
Her eyes stared in longing before a smile tugged at her lips, "Adamson is already so jittery about having to leave our grandson behind. This is life, though. It's not like we won't come. We'll keep visiting you and I hope you will also come to us."
"I definitely will, mom. Once a month I will bring Jared to you for a holiday. Jace can continue to work as an Alpha King, but I will take my breaks."
"I can't wait for it already." She cheered and continued with the massage.
I admired her as she began to talk to Jared. He's growing physically at a rapid rate. He's only two months and a few weeks old, but he looks like six months.
'He's an Alpha king's heir, Jenna. He's got to have fast growth.' I hummed at Gianna's remark.
Mom was done. She took him inside our room to bathe him. She was dressing him on the bed when someone coughed on the door.
"Dad, good afternoon." I stood up in respect.
"Afternoon, my lovely daughter." His hand went around my head to pull it close and gave me a peck on the forehead.
It cheered my soul. I grinned brightly as my eyes brimmed with tears of happiness. I'm so lucky.
Two months ago when I discovered Chris' cheating, I thought my life was doomed. I thought I'd have to wander through the streets as I wouldn't have a home to live in. I thought I'll have no one to love my son and me after Chris kicked us out.
Look at us now! I was a daughter-in-law to the most amazing and powerful couple in our dimension. They called me their daughter and treated me like one. My son... They treated my son like he was a moon goddess' gift to them.
"My little pup, I am so desperately waiting for you to grow up. We'll both go to hunt and I'll teach you to fight. Gosh, you look just like our Jace. Your hair is softer than ours." I watched in contentment as he played with Jared.
"And he is more handsome than you both." Mom said proudly.
"There's no doubt about that. Our pup is more handsome. Right, son." Dad winked at him.
This scene... I never thought in my wildest hopeful dream that this would happen. I'm an orphan and Chris' parents died earlier before he became an Alpha. I had believed (that was before I discovered about his infidelity) that my son would have no elderly people around him.
He's so lucky to have the Alpha King and Luna Queen as his mentors.
"Do you think they'll spoil our son more than us?" A strong arm wrapped around my waist as I heard that whisper across my ear.
"Jace, you're back!" I restlessly turned in his arms and hugged him.
"Hello, Luna Queen."
"Jace, I missed you. Why didn't you tell me you were coming back?" I caressed his face.
"I wanted to surprise you."
I hugged him again and stayed there in his arms. Gosh, this feeling of being complete when I am in his arms is to die for. My head was on his chest. I was basking in the sound of his beating heart when I heard a faint grumble.
My eyes instantly jumped behind Jace and found Liza gritting her teeth.
'You think you have him forever? He's just being romantic because it's just the beginning. Give him a few months and watch him change to his real self.' She said on the link and I hugged his waist.
"Baby, I missed you soooo much." I pecked his chest to show Liza.
She fisted her hands and spoke again, 'Trying to show off, temporary Luna Queen? Today is your time, tomorrow will be mine. Then I'll show you what I do.'
"Liza? Nice to see you again." I called out to her as fighting on the link is not fun.
"Hey, Liza." Jace turned slightly as he kept me in his arms, my head still on his chest. "Do you need anything?"
"Yeah, she does." I answered before her, making her force a fake cute smile. "Liza wants to go on a holiday. She isn't feeling very well in the castle for a while now. Do you think we can send her away someway?"
"No. I'm absolutely fine now, Luna Queen. You don't—"
"Come on, Liza. You don't have to pretend. So what if Jace is now married. He still cares for you like a cousin, right Jace?" I cut her and she trembled quietly.
"Yes, Liza. You don't have to feel like I don't care about you. We are still cousins. You want to go out, right? Hmm, I'll speak with Oakley. I'm sure he can find you some good places to go out to."
"No, Jace, I don't—"
"That's wonderful. In fact, Jace," I moved away from his chest to look at him. "I think we should also start looking for a good man for our Liza. Loneliness can really fúck with a person's head. I am telling this from experience. I'm sure she'll feel better when she has someone to share her life with."
I flashed a very sweet smile. Jace bought my lie and agreed. Liza was tongue-tied, and couldn't protest. She just stood there with her head hanging low as fury intensified the redness in her eyes.
When she was leaving, she spitefully told me on the link, 'You think you are very clever, huh? Just wait and watch, bítch. You've just come here recently whereas I've been a part of this place and family for years. I'm NOT going anywhere! You hear me?! I'm not leaving Jace alone.'
'Enjoy your holiday, Liza. If you need new clothes, don't hesitate to ask me. Jace bought me a new wardrobe and I have some amazing dresses.' I mocked her.
'Fúck you, whóre. I will never touch your dresses.'
'Byeeee.' I sang as I watched her disappear.
"So?" I was lifted by Jace and carried inside our room.
"Jace!" I eyed him because mom and dad were still here.
"They won't care about us as long as their grandson is in the room." He winked at me.
"Let go." I glared at him again and he quietly carried me inside the adjacent room.
"Now better?" He asked, and before I answered, he smacked his lips with mine, making me swoon.
An electric current passed through me as our lips connected. We were hungrily eating each other's face out. It's only been a few days but it felt like we've been apart for decades.
"I missed you so much, mate." He dipped his head to kiss my neck.
"Me too."
"And I missed your body too." I chuckled at that. I missed his body too.
Jace desperately began to lift my t-shirt up. I held his hands and shook my head no, "Mom and dad are in the room."
"Okay." He sighed and sat in a chair.
He pulled me along and I sat in his lap. Jace hugged my waist as his head rested on my breasts. He seemed at peace. I was massaging his scalp with a smile of contentment on my lips.
This life is too perfect to be real. Am I really so lucky? I was still thinking about it when I got the answer in the form of a loud scream.
"What was that?" Jace lifted his head in alarm.
Tbc...

Chapter 58 Jace's POV We were silent for a long time. Neither of us spoke. Suddenly Jenna lifted her face and eyes me innocently."What?" I chuckled. She nodded in no, "You burned Liza alive."My face stilled. I pulled her closer and joined our foreheads, "I had to. She was the bane of our family."I kissed her."Also," I added. "She made me doubt my wife's intentions. I had to punish her."At that, she hugged me tighter and rested her face on my shoulder. She was sitting straddling my waist while I held her like my toddler baby.My back had healed. Hence, I was able to sit this way.The doctors had been worried because the wound wasn't healing in my state of unconsciousness. That's the reason why they refused to give any answer. But the second I woke up, the wound healed, and all the residue of wolfsbane and silver was eliminated by my immune system."What happened to Chris and that lady?" I suddenly asked as I remembered those two."Both dead. And that lady was Doctor Henry's daug
Chapter 57Jenna's POV 'Thanks, bro. Head towards the Rogues' territory with your team. I'll meet you there.''Roger that!''Okay.'We broke the link. I sucked a sharp breath as I focused on the road ahead. If I drive at high speed, I'll get there in twenty minutes.Jenna, hold on for a while, love. Your husband is coming to get you.(Twenty minutes later)"Jace, finally you're here." Oakley came running towards my car as I applied brakes."Did you find her location?" I was not even fully out of the car."Yes, and already stationed our soldiers around the area." Oakley said, sending a wave of relief through me."Thank, goddess.""Don't worry, Jace. The situation is already in our control." Oakley flashed a shark grin and my eyebrows cocked in confusion. "Chris's soldiers look novice. They are not attentive at all, let alone alert.""I think he brought untrained wolves here. And I must add that his Beta and Gamma are not here either."I acknowledged with a nod, "He's probably doing it
Chapter 56Jenna's POV Jace has never touched her before. He hadn't done it this time either. It's that bìtch who always found ways to go near him.'There's no point in giving yourself false hope, Jenna. Jace isn't the man we thought he was. Accept it.' Gianna said.A feeling of disappointment rose over me. No! My wolf is not right here. She's hurt from Jace's wolf's words, and rest is the impact of wolfsbane.Jace loves us.'You really think that? Then tell me, why didn't he come after us when we left?'he He might have a reason.'No,' Gianna grunted weakly. 'It's because he was bewitched by his mistress's beauty and he chose her instead.'That's not true. I was breathless in anger. Gianna's words struck a chord that it shouldn't have.'I'll prove it to you that Jace still only loves us.'Having that said, I lowered my guard. I had blocked out everyone and their feelings to avoid getting caught. However, as I lowered my guard, I could feel my family's emotions— Jace's first. He was
Chapter 55Jenna's POVI regained my senses at the feeling of stabbing spasms stretching throughout my body. My eyelids were heavy and so I couldn't drag them open. But my other senses were working well.I could hear and smell and feel my surroundings. The air was crackling with the chirping of thousands of crickets, meaning that I was most likely in a forest area; or where there were a lot of trees.I dragged in a deep breath to catch scents, and realized that wood was burning somewhere. Then I heard the noise of fire crackling. A bonfire. I subtly rubbed my hand on the ground and sensed the coarse texture. Soil. All the elements directed to one point, I was in a forest. My eyes felt better now. I was about to open them when, "Hadn't she woken up yet?" A familiar voice asked."No, Alpha Chris. After she turned into her human form while fainting, she's been just like that." Someone said,It wasn't Cleo's voice. Hmm. Perhaps Chris flew all the way to Silent Hills city with a small team
Chapter 54Jace's POV "Let this be a lesson to all those who think they can fool the Alpha King just because I trust them." I announced as I paced around with a flaming torch in my hand. Behind me a pyre was built in the middle of the city for people to watch. On it Liza was tied to a pole. She was drenched with petrol and shaking. Her eyes were red. She begged me to let her go, that she was honestly apologetic. That she acknowledged her blunder and would go away. "My trust has never been a weakness. My willingness to believe in those who stand beside me does not make me blind, nor does my kindness make me a fool. I give people my trust because I choose to see the good in them. Because I consider them my previous ones. But the moment that trust is betrayed, do not mistake my silence for ignorance. And don't ever think that you can outsmart me."I came to a halt. The flames were crackling beside my face. It was night now, the sky was dark with no stars. There were light poles around
