Chapter 18

Jenna's POV

"Let's check." We both hastened out.

"What was that, Jace?" Mom asked. She was holding Jared to her chest fearfully.

"No idea. I'll check, mom."

We both hurried out. We were in the corridor when a maid came towards her, looking horrified, "Alpha King, Miss Liza..."

"What happened to Liza?"

"She fell off the stairs. She's bleeding."

"Damn it!" Jace heaved in concern as he set off into a sprint.

I stood in my spot, trying to wrap my head around it.

'That bítch probably did it on purpose, I can tell.' Gianna commented.

Maybe. She didn't want to go on a holiday. I was hoping to send her away so Jace and I could have a good time without her evil eye affecting us.

'Don't think it'll happen now.' I agreed to Gianna as we stumbled into the grand living hall.

Liza was faking crocodile tears. She was holding her right foot as Jace attempted to calm her down.

"I won't be able to go on a holiday now. I feel so unlucky, Jace. Why me? First you got married and my heart was broken... And now I can't even go out to refresh my mind." I scoffed mutely as I folded my hands to watch Liza's drama.

She was smirking at me while Jace tried to touch her feet.

"Aah! Don't touch it, Jace. I think my foot is broken."

"Stop acting, Liza. It's just a normal sprain." Oakley rolled his eyes.

I chuckled loudly and said sorry to show that I didn't mean to be mean. But I did, and Liza knew it.

"Dylan, pick her up." Jace ordered a soldier, making Liza's face harden.

She thought Jace would carry her. Too bad. The man is married now, and the only woman he likes to carry is me, his wife.

"I'll go with her, Jenna." Jace turned to me.

"Please, go. I'm sure she'll feel better. She was your mistress. You can do that much for her." I gave him a curt smile.

He sighed and came to kiss me, "I'm only going to make sure she's not severely hurt."

"No one is stopping you, Alpha King. Go."

"Hey," His face became seriously pale. "I am not—"

I cracked up at his expression, "Chill, I'm joking. Go, Jace. You're also her Alpha King, no matter your past with her. She deserves this much."

"I love you."

"I love you too."

I watched him go. Just as he rushed out, Oakley leaned into me, "Aren't you worried about her? Liza is a leech. Jace didn't really like her, but she crawled her way into his life unless he was forced to make her his mistress."

His eyes came to my face as he gave me a serious look, "If you want peace in your life, send her away."

"I can't. Jace said Liza has nowhere to go. No relatives."

"She can go to her husband's house! So, marry her off to someone."

"I pitched the idea to him but I don't think Liza will leave any time soon."

"Hmm, leave her to me. I'll do something."

"Thanks." My lips upturned in a gratified smile.

"Where is our prince, BTW? I want to see him."

"In the room with mom and dad. Come, I'll take you to him." I caught his arm by the elbow as we went to our room.

(A while later)

Mom and dad had left us alone. I was folding Jared's clothes and Oakley was playing with him on the bed.

He was hovering over my son and making funny faces. I chuckled seeing him doing all that.

"Jenna, he's foaming at the mouth." My hands froze and I threw the clothes to see my son.

"Oakley, idiot." I slapped him. "This is undigested milk. Babies throw it out sometimes."

I grabbed a handkerchief to wipe Jared's face when Oakley patted my shoulder, "You're a professional. It's hard to believe this is your first child."

"When you have kids, it comes naturally."

"Really?" He was amazed.

"Yeah. You can try getting married to see it."

"Or maybe I'll submit my sperm samples for an IVF. Hopefully, the doctor will make the mistake he made in Jace's case and I'll get a beautiful wife too." That was funny. So funny that I leaned into him to pull his cheek.

"You're so silly, Oakley."

"No, I'm serious. I think I deserve a gorgeous wife like you. Wait, I wonder why I didn't lie to Jace when I found out the truth." He smirked in fake wickedness. "If I had done it, you would've been my mate and wife today. Life would've been so much better."

"Oh really, Oakley Voss!" A possessive growl rumbled from the doorstep. We both turned to see Jace there.

"Jace! Jenna and I were talking about you." He lied.

"I know what you were talking about, fůcker." Jace stormed into the room and grasped the back of Oakley's shirt.

He dragged him towards the door and pushed him out, not even hearing his explanation.

He dared him to come back again before slamming the door in his face. I was watching all this in amusement. However, when he turned back to me, I gulped.

Jace was eyeing me like a psychopath husband.

"Do you also believe he should've lied to you about the baby in your belly being his?"

"I didn't say that."

"But you think he's cute, don't you? Jenna, you like him."

A slow smile tugged at my lips. My Alpha King husband was jealous. Although a part of me enticed me to tease him, I pulled the hem of his shirt to make him sit on the bed.

When his face was across from mine, I latched our lips. Jared was sleepy. I left him alone and straddled his father's waist. Jace desperately grabbed my àss as his fingers snuck into my top.

We had a passionate make out session. One where we were both breathless and still not satisfied.

Jared was asleep. Jace had transferred him to his cot, and was panting. I was still very breathless when he flipped me on my belly to take me from the back.

"Don't you think you should rest? You had a long journey." I gasped as he pressed the tip of his shâft against my entrance.

"I'm resting."

"This is your definition of resting?" I said breathlessly as he entered into me in one swift move.

"Hmm." He said, indicating he didn't want us to talk with words.

I fell quiet as we indulged in another mind-boggling make out session. When we were done, we bathed together and came out.

I was in a towel, wiping my hair when Jace grabbed my waist. He was fully dressed and he made me sit in his lap.

"How is life here, Jenna? Have you settled in?" He placed his chin on my bare shoulder.

"I'm very happy. Everyone is so nice, especially mom and dad. They don't make me feel like I'm an outsider."

"My parents love you a lot. You should've seen their faces when they were talking to me about you. They are proud of me for my decision." I just smiled while holding his hands.

After a few minutes he asked, "Do you need some more time to adjust or you're ready to take over your duties?"

"I think I'm ready. Mom has already instructed me, and rest she said I'll be able to do it once I know my duties."

"Good. So today we'll discuss your staff and all."

She blinked in surprise, "My own staff?"

"Yes. Advisors, assistants, guards and whoever else you need to carry out your responsibilities as Luna Queen." He tilted his head to look at me.

"But… Most Alphas don't give their Lunas that kind of authority. Some barely allow their wives to have a voice in the council... And you want me to have my own staff?" I was seriously amazed.

"I know, and I'm not like those Alphas." I stared at him. "You're my Luna Queen. Not a decoration standing beside me."

My mouth was hanging. I turned in his arms and tried to reason, "I don't want to overstep your authority, Jace. I don't want you to feel like I'm challenging you."

"Your crown doesn't become smaller because I have one too, Jenna."

"But you're the King, and a queen doesn't have equal power as that of the king." I said in daze.

Jace softened his voice, "Jenna, you're not any typical wife who follows her husband around and agrees with everything he says. You are MY wife— Someone who can challenge me when I'm wrong, make decisions without waiting for my permission, and have people she trusts working under her."

"And you're really willing to give me that much power?" I put my hands on his shoulders.

"I'm not giving you any power. I'm recognizing the authority you already deserve." He looked directly into her eyes, making my heart flutter.

The conversation we had next made me cry rivers of tears.

Chapter 58 Jace's POV We were silent for a long time. Neither of us spoke. Suddenly Jenna lifted her face and eyes me innocently."What?" I chuckled. She nodded in no, "You burned Liza alive."My face stilled. I pulled her closer and joined our foreheads, "I had to. She was the bane of our family."I kissed her."Also," I added. "She made me doubt my wife's intentions. I had to punish her."At that, she hugged me tighter and rested her face on my shoulder. She was sitting straddling my waist while I held her like my toddler baby.My back had healed. Hence, I was able to sit this way.The doctors had been worried because the wound wasn't healing in my state of unconsciousness. That's the reason why they refused to give any answer. But the second I woke up, the wound healed, and all the residue of wolfsbane and silver was eliminated by my immune system."What happened to Chris and that lady?" I suddenly asked as I remembered those two."Both dead. And that lady was Doctor Henry's daug

Chapter 57Jenna's POV 'Thanks, bro. Head towards the Rogues' territory with your team. I'll meet you there.''Roger that!''Okay.'We broke the link. Your husband is coming to get you.(Twenty minutes later)"Jace, finally you're here." Oakley came running towards my car as I applied brakes."Did you find her location?" I was not even fully out of the car."Yes, and already stationed our soldiers around the area." Oakley said, sending a wave of relief through me."Thank, goddess.""Don't worry, Jace. The situation is already in our control." Oakley flashed a shark grin and my eyebrows cocked in confusion. "Chris's soldiers look novice. They are not attentive at all, let alone alert.""I think he brought untrained wolves here. And I must add that his Beta and Gamma are not here either."I acknowledged with a nod, "He's probably doing it

Chapter 56Jenna's POV Jace has never touched her before. He hadn't done it this time either. It's that bìtch who always found ways to go near him.'There's no point in giving yourself false hope, Jenna. Jace isn't the man we thought he was. Accept it.' Gianna said.A feeling of disappointment rose over me. No! My wolf is not right here. She's hurt from Jace's wolf's words, and rest is the impact of wolfsbane.Jace loves us.'You really think that? Then tell me, why didn't he come after us when we left?'he He might have a reason.'No,' Gianna grunted weakly. 'It's because he was bewitched by his mistress's beauty and he chose her instead.'That's not true. I was breathless in anger. Gianna's words struck a chord that it shouldn't have.'I'll prove it to you that Jace still only loves us.'Having that said, I lowered my guard. I had blocked out everyone and their feelings to avoid getting caught. However, as I lowered my guard, I could feel my family's emotions— Jace's first. He was

Chapter 55Jenna's POVI regained my senses at the feeling of stabbing spasms stretching throughout my body. My eyelids were heavy and so I couldn't drag them open. But my other senses were working well.I could hear and smell and feel my surroundings. The air was crackling with the chirping of thousands of crickets, meaning that I was most likely in a forest area; or where there were a lot of trees.I dragged in a deep breath to catch scents, and realized that wood was burning somewhere. Then I heard the noise of fire crackling. A bonfire. I subtly rubbed my hand on the ground and sensed the coarse texture. Soil. All the elements directed to one point, I was in a forest. My eyes felt better now. I was about to open them when, "Hadn't she woken up yet?" A familiar voice asked."No, Alpha Chris. After she turned into her human form while fainting, she's been just like that." Someone said,It wasn't Cleo's voice. Hmm. Perhaps Chris flew all the way to Silent Hills city with a small team

Chapter 54Jace's POV "Let this be a lesson to all those who think they can fool the Alpha King just because I trust them." I announced as I paced around with a flaming torch in my hand. Behind me a pyre was built in the middle of the city for people to watch. On it Liza was tied to a pole. She was drenched with petrol and shaking. Her eyes were red. She begged me to let her go, that she was honestly apologetic. That she acknowledged her blunder and would go away. "My trust has never been a weakness. My willingness to believe in those who stand beside me does not make me blind, nor does my kindness make me a fool. I give people my trust because I choose to see the good in them. Because I consider them my previous ones. But the moment that trust is betrayed, do not mistake my silence for ignorance. And don't ever think that you can outsmart me."I came to a halt. The flames were crackling beside my face. It was night now, the sky was dark with no stars. There were light poles around
