Chapter 19

Jenna's POV

"But what if we disagree on something important? What then?" I lifted an eyebrow.

"Then we'll disagree." He shrugged.

"What if our opinions clash." I inhaled hesitantly.

"Different how, widely? Care to explain to me."

I lowered my eyes, "Err, you know what I mean. You're an Alpha King. I'm a woman. We might look at things differently."

"Then I'll hear your perspective. Simple."

I blinked rapidly. This was not right. Jace can't be this cool about gender equality. No man in this world is. And to say he's an Alpha King. Alphas don't usually treat their Luna like an equal.

Chris didn't do that either, although he claimed I was his cherished Luna. At times, on purpose or not, he made me feel I'm a woman and I am at a lower level than him.

I was not convinced and I pushed Jace with more what-if questions, "What if it's something that affects the entire kingdom? What if you believe one decision is right and I believe it's wrong?"

"Then neither of us gets to declare ourselves right simply because we're the King or the Queen." My jaw dropped again.

Next attempt, "What if the council sides with you? Then what?"

"Then you still have the right to disagree." He shrugged again, annoying me.

"And what if they side with me?"

"Then I'll be the one standing alone with my opinion. And I'll try to explain to you and everyone why my opinion is better."

I was in a state of stupor. But now I was convinced my husband wasn't just saying it to impress me. He truly meant it. He believed in equality even though he was the one with more power.

"Jenna, my position doesn't make my opinion more valuable than yours. You're my queen. Whether I'm there or not, your authority doesn't weaken. You're still a Queen."

A faint smile touched my lips, "You really mean this?"

"I do."

"Even if I challenge you in front of everyone?"

"Especially then." He sounded excited like he was looking forward to it.

She shook her head, "Most men wouldn't tolerate that from their wives, you know. So why are you willing to put up with it, Jace? You don't have to give me equal rights. I am fine—"

"Jenna," He caressed my waist as he gazed deep into my eyes. "I didn't choose you as my mate so I could have someone beneath me. I chose you because I wanted someone beside me."

"J-jace?" I was emotional. I hugged his neck and sighed loudly. I'm indeed very lucky to have him.

A while later, an evil thought crossed my mind. I looked up from the hug and raised an eyebrow, "And if I think you're being arrogant?"

"Then I suppose you'll tell me that." A small smile tugged at his lips.

"I will... But what if I do it publicly and kind of in a humiliating way. Will you punish me for it?" I pouted.

His expression turned naughty as he kissed my pout, "In bed, yes."

We sat there in each other's arms. I didn't mind the fact that I was barely dressed. I liked this.

Jace was very talkative today. He told me about some of his childhood memories, and then about how he helped the pack he had visited to help against the rogues. Later, he disclosed something that made me gasp.

"Coronation?"

He nodded, "Mom and dad want to see you getting crowned before they go."

"There's no need to do that, Jace. I'm completely happy with the way things are. What's the need to—"

"They insist on it." He interrupted. "They said the people should meet their queen the right way, and this coronation ceremony will be the perfect way to introduce their Luna to them."

"Besides, you also wanted to meet our people, right?"

"Not this way, Jace. Why conduct a coronation ceremony? I'm married to you, that makes me your queen." I tried to reason why it wasn't a good idea but he interrupted with a kiss.

Three weeks later, what I didn't want was happening— My coronation.

"You look ethereal, Luna Queen!" The makeup artist called to dress me up for my big day exclaimed as she gaped at me.

"You sure? I... I feel like this is too much." I forced a chuckle.

I was swearing. My hands were clammy as I stared at my reflection again.

"It's not, Luna Queen. The dress suits you." She said and my eyes lowered to the Emerald gown I was wearing.

It matched my eyes. The gown was long and puffy. Delicate crystal embellishments adorned the bodice, making me look every bit like royalty. In light, the jewels caught light and shone ethereally, giving a feeling like I was adorned with a lot of jewels.

"Wow." I heard a gasp.

I spun to find Jace standing on the doorstep. He leaned on the frame as he stared at me like he was seeing a fairy.

"H-how do I look?" I asked nervously as my insecurities nagged me.

My husband was looking every bit like a king. He wore a deep emerald coat with gold embroidery— He was twinning with me!!!— and it was paired with black trousers and polished boots.

I watched in awe at the heavy golden crown resting on his head while a black velvet cape fell over his shoulders, giving him a strong and royal appearance.

"S-say something, Jace."

"Wait, let me pick up my jaw first. I think I dropped it somewhere on the floor." He joked before walking over to me. "You look like a dream."

I blushed as I held his shoulders.

"Trust me, if mom and dad weren't a part of this ceremony, I would've stolen you for a while for a quickie." He whispered the last part, making my eyes too wide.

Anyway, we went out to the garden where the ceremony was held. As Jace promised, it was private. Just the people of the kingdom and the council.

The Luna Queen put a cape around me first, and then the crown. Then I was made to take my oath, which was the heaviest part of all. I cried and sobbed. Then later, we introduced our son— who was also dressed in an Emerald little coat like his father— and the crowd erupted with praise and compliments.

They gasped at how strikingly similar they both looked. The praises were literally flying from all the sides, especially about the head full of platinum silver hair.

What amused me more was the truth Jace hadn't tried to hide from his people!

They were also aware of how we met. They had known their Alpha King was planning for a baby through IVF, but he surprised them when he brought the mother along with the baby.

"See, they're all screaming for you." Jace whispered near my ear.

We were aboard an open carriage, feeling every bit like a king and queen in old times. Flower petals were showered on us by our people from the roofs of their houses as we roamed through the streets.

The little stone houses, the warm lights, and the curious faces made the village feel strangely cozy. I stood with Jace as he held our son in his arms. People were hailing him. They were hailing me too.

This felt surreal.

***

Evening,

I was lying in bed like a corpse. I hadn't cared to take off my gown, I was that dreaming exhausted. Jared was fed and right now I had him on my shoulder, trying to make him burp.

I swept a gaze around with a small smile. This room... This castle had become my home since the very minute I stepped in. However, it was now that I was feeling accepted and like I was finally home.

My thought was fragmented by the sound of boots stopping outside our room. The door was closed but my heart picked up speed. My skin burned in ecstasy as the heady scent of my husband flared in my nostrils.

"I'm so tired." He opened the door and stepped in.

The coat was gone. He was only in the thin undershirt, looking every bit ravishing. Although I was tired myself, my body was ablaze by the thoughts I was having. I wanted to have him on top of me.

"Jace," I gestured to him with my finger to come closer.

A smirk lifted his lips as he strode towards me. He threw himself in my arms and kissed my neck.

"I'm so bloody tired." My face instantly fell. I really wanted to feel him on top of me, inside me right now!

"But I need you so bad I don't fucking care." He smashed his lips against mine as his hands worked on my gown.

Within minutes, I was naked and getting pounded by him. We didn't care about food and Jace also instructed Oakley to not send anyone to call us. We didn't need anything other than each other.

All night, we made love. Jace dropped his head on my chest as we both came for the last time.

"That was amazing." He panted while I was looking out at the rising sun.

I didn't reply but I had a dreamy smile on my lips.

"I love you." I said and rested my head on his chest.

"I love you too, my queen." Jace's voice was barely a whisper.

He covered us with the quilt as we both closed our eyes to catch some sleep.

Thank you, Moon Goddess. You gave me more than I had asked for.

I hugged him tighter and drifted off to sleep.

Chapter 58 Jace's POV We were silent for a long time. Neither of us spoke. Suddenly Jenna lifted her face and eyes me innocently."What?" I chuckled. She nodded in no, "You burned Liza alive."My face stilled. I pulled her closer and joined our foreheads, "I had to. She was the bane of our family."I kissed her."Also," I added. "She made me doubt my wife's intentions. I had to punish her."At that, she hugged me tighter and rested her face on my shoulder. She was sitting straddling my waist while I held her like my toddler baby.My back had healed. Hence, I was able to sit this way.The doctors had been worried because the wound wasn't healing in my state of unconsciousness. That's the reason why they refused to give any answer. But the second I woke up, the wound healed, and all the residue of wolfsbane and silver was eliminated by my immune system."What happened to Chris and that lady?" I suddenly asked as I remembered those two."Both dead. And that lady was Doctor Henry's daug

Chapter 57Jenna's POV 'Thanks, bro. Head towards the Rogues' territory with your team. I'll meet you there.''Roger that!''Okay.'We broke the link. I sucked a sharp breath as I focused on the road ahead. If I drive at high speed, I'll get there in twenty minutes.Jenna, hold on for a while, love. Your husband is coming to get you.(Twenty minutes later)"Jace, finally you're here." Oakley came running towards my car as I applied brakes."Did you find her location?" I was not even fully out of the car."Yes, and already stationed our soldiers around the area." Oakley said, sending a wave of relief through me."Thank, goddess.""Don't worry, Jace. The situation is already in our control." Oakley flashed a shark grin and my eyebrows cocked in confusion. "Chris's soldiers look novice. They are not attentive at all, let alone alert.""I think he brought untrained wolves here. And I must add that his Beta and Gamma are not here either."I acknowledged with a nod, "He's probably doing it

Chapter 56Jenna's POV Jace has never touched her before. He hadn't done it this time either. It's that bìtch who always found ways to go near him.'There's no point in giving yourself false hope, Jenna. Jace isn't the man we thought he was. Accept it.' Gianna said.A feeling of disappointment rose over me. No! My wolf is not right here. She's hurt from Jace's wolf's words, and rest is the impact of wolfsbane.Jace loves us.'You really think that? Then tell me, why didn't he come after us when we left?'he He might have a reason.'No,' Gianna grunted weakly. 'It's because he was bewitched by his mistress's beauty and he chose her instead.'That's not true. I was breathless in anger. Gianna's words struck a chord that it shouldn't have.'I'll prove it to you that Jace still only loves us.'Having that said, I lowered my guard. I had blocked out everyone and their feelings to avoid getting caught. However, as I lowered my guard, I could feel my family's emotions— Jace's first. He was

Chapter 55Jenna's POVI regained my senses at the feeling of stabbing spasms stretching throughout my body. My eyelids were heavy and so I couldn't drag them open. But my other senses were working well.I could hear and smell and feel my surroundings. The air was crackling with the chirping of thousands of crickets, meaning that I was most likely in a forest area; or where there were a lot of trees.I dragged in a deep breath to catch scents, and realized that wood was burning somewhere. Then I heard the noise of fire crackling. A bonfire. I subtly rubbed my hand on the ground and sensed the coarse texture. Soil. All the elements directed to one point, I was in a forest. My eyes felt better now. I was about to open them when, "Hadn't she woken up yet?" A familiar voice asked."No, Alpha Chris. After she turned into her human form while fainting, she's been just like that." Someone said,It wasn't Cleo's voice. Hmm. Perhaps Chris flew all the way to Silent Hills city with a small team

Chapter 54Jace's POV "Let this be a lesson to all those who think they can fool the Alpha King just because I trust them." I announced as I paced around with a flaming torch in my hand. Behind me a pyre was built in the middle of the city for people to watch. On it Liza was tied to a pole. She was drenched with petrol and shaking. Her eyes were red. She begged me to let her go, that she was honestly apologetic. That she acknowledged her blunder and would go away. "My trust has never been a weakness. My willingness to believe in those who stand beside me does not make me blind, nor does my kindness make me a fool. I give people my trust because I choose to see the good in them. Because I consider them my previous ones. But the moment that trust is betrayed, do not mistake my silence for ignorance. And don't ever think that you can outsmart me."I came to a halt. The flames were crackling beside my face. It was night now, the sky was dark with no stars. There were light poles around
