Jenna's POV

"My baby!!" I woke up screaming.

"Jenna, careful!" Two warm hands pressed down on my shoulders to keep me lying on the bed.

I flickered my eyes to the person and my nostrils flared. It was Chris, and he looked worried.

"Jenna, baby, you okay?" He put some strands behind my ear as he leaned over me. "Henry found you passed out in the elevator, and before that you had pain from contractions. Are you okay? How are you feeling?"

He hovered over me as his fingers cupped my cheeks, "Wait, I'll call Henry."

He straightened and hurried out of the room. I looked around before trying to sit up. Since my belly was huge, I was unable to twist let alone get up. Hence, I stilled there, my gaze fixated on the white ceiling as Chris and Doctor Henry's conversation spilled into my mind.

Sasha... She was back. She came back three months ago when I started my third trimester. No wonder I've been feeling unimaginable pain. It's because Chris, my mate, has been sleeping with her. And because we are mated, the pain burned through me.

But Henry claimed it was because I was pregnant. Because I was carrying a strong Alpha's child.

Strong Alpha's child... That compelled me to think back about how the pregnancy happened.

Chris and I have been trying since we got married. He's 35 and I'm 28. I'm healthy and strong, but given Chris' stressful past, his sperm count and motility were extremely low. We discussed the possibility of using a donor before the procedure.

Therefore, the baby in my belly wasn't really my husband's since we used a sperm donor, but we promised to love and call the child as ours. Additionally, no one knows that the baby in my womb wasn't biologically my husband's.

But now that Sasha is here, I can anticipate how really Chris is going to end things with me.

"Jenna, love," Chris said from the door before he walked in. "Henry is here."

"Hello, Luna," A fake warm smile tugged at his lips. "Let me check your pulse, although it was normal last time... I'll check it again."

He sat on the stool and held my wrist. Chris stopped on the other side, keeping his one arm around my shoulders and one twining our fingers together. The love he was showing, and with the false dedication Doctor Henry was checking my pulse... To the outsiders it would seem like I was cherished and loved.

Hate like the taste of rotting meat erupted in my mouth. I ground my molars to keep my wolf's anger in check.

Henry left my wrist and spoke gently, "It's normal. As I said Alpha, it's just stress. Luna is thinking a lot about the delivery as the date is near." His eyes dipped to my face. "But please, take care of yourself, Luna. The baby is healthy and fine. He'll bring good tidings with himself when he comes to the world."

"I'll leave the two of you together now." He bowed to Chris before leaving us alone.

As soon as we were alone, Chris hugged me like I was the most important person in his life.

"I'm so sorry, love. I couldn't come with you for a checkup, nor was I there when you fainted in the elevator. I feel so bad. I'm not a good husband."

"It's okay, Chris. I know you wouldn't have let it happen if it wasn't important."

"Seriously," He gave me a look as if he was really occupied by something worth his time. "Some rogues were seen around our pack borders. I had to be there."

'Bloody, liar! Let me take control, Jenna. This cheater needs to learn his lesson. Let me out! I swear I'll rip his throat apart.' My wolf howled madly as I forced a smile to him.

"I know, baby. We both worked so hard for this," I touched my belly. "I know you will never leave me alone in this condition if it wasn't very, very, very crucial."

His smile faltered at my words before he looked away. The hesitation in his body language gave away his treachery. But I stayed calm and quiet. It's not like I'm going to forget it. When I serve him revenge, it won't just taste cold. It will be bloody and brutal.

"Since I wasn't there, I'll spend the rest of the night with you. Okay." He kissed my knuckles.

I didn't reply but I nodded.

"Henry said you're free to go home. But I was thinking of taking you somewhere."

"Somewhere? You see my condition, Chris." My voice was poison wrapped in silk. "I can deliver the baby any time now. I don't think—"

"I'll be there." He squeezed my hand, although he didn't sound very convincing.

'Don't trust him, Jenna. I'm certain this is his new trick. He's willing to keep the child but not you. So maybe he's trying to take you somewhere you'll deliver the baby and die. Don't go.' My wolf panicked.

"Okay, I trust you, hubby." His eyes shimmered at my response.

"Okay, let me make the arrangements." He fetched his phone to make a call.

But it started ringing the second he looked at it, and his smile faded.

"Jenna, I'll come back in a sec, okay love. This call is important."

"Sure, I'm here." I said and watched him rush out.

Carefully I got out of bed and tiptoed towards the door. I opened it a creak, and sure enough, as expected, I could hear his voice and the person's from the speaker.

"I told you not to call me right now, Sasha. I'm with Jenna. She could've caught us." Chris said in a strained voice.

"Oh come on, that bítch is too dumb to notice. She's been experiencing cutting pain from the last three months and she couldn't locate that it's the pain of betrayal. What makes you think she'll catch us now?" Sasha's voice spilled, sweet to the ears but full of malice.

"Don't underestimate her, darling. Jenna is cleverer than both of us combined. You can say she trusts me a lot that she will never doubt me or think I could do such a thing to her."

"But you're doing it, right?" She laughed. "Baby, I'm missing you. Can you come to me? There's something I want to show to you."

"I can't, Sasha. Didn't I tell you... I'm going to spend tonight with Jenna. I haven't been around for a long time and she is about to give birth to our baby. I don't want her to suspect me, okay." Chris gritted out.

"But I planned a surprise for you."

"A surprise? What is it— the pearly lingerie I wanted you to wear for me?" My stomach clenched at the teasing sound of Chris' voice.

"Something better than that."

"Tell me what is it?" he asked with the desperation of a five year old.

"If you're not coming here, forget it." She hung the call.

Chris swore before he called her again, "Okay, I'll come. But then I'll have to be with Jenna for two days. Deal?"

"Yeah, whatever. Come fast." She replied and cut the call.

My eyes were stinging with tears of anger. H-how could he do this to me? I was pregnant... Though not with his child, I am his mate.

The pain of his conversation with his girlfriend hadn't yet cooled down, when I heard him talking to Henry in muffled voices again.

"What is it, Alpha? Judging by your desperate hold on my arm, I can say it's got to do something with Miss Sasha." Henry teased.

"It's something like that, Henry. But..." He trailed off and I imagined him looking in the direction of my ward.

"Luna?" Henry enquired. There was no reply from Chris, but I guess he confirmed with a nod. "Don't worry about her, Alpha. I'll take care of her. In fact, you can also go on a holiday trip with Miss Sasha."

"Are you crazy, Henry? Jenna is my Luna. The people of the pack will not be happy if I'm away at this point."

"Alpha," Henry's voice was arrogantly assuring. "Why are you burdening yourself with unnecessary stress? I told you, don't worry about Luna and her baby. It's not like it's your own child."

"But we—"

"Come on, we know the secret, right? We purposely chose a weak omega male's sperm for your baby. It's not like Luna will die giving birth to him— Well, I have a very good idea. One that can help you get rid of Luna along with the baby."

What I heard next shook the ground under my feet.

Chapter 58 Jace's POV We were silent for a long time. Neither of us spoke. Suddenly Jenna lifted her face and eyes me innocently."What?" I chuckled. She nodded in no, "You burned Liza alive."My face stilled. I pulled her closer and joined our foreheads, "I had to. She was the bane of our family."I kissed her."Also," I added. "She made me doubt my wife's intentions. I had to punish her."At that, she hugged me tighter and rested her face on my shoulder. She was sitting straddling my waist while I held her like my toddler baby.My back had healed. Hence, I was able to sit this way.The doctors had been worried because the wound wasn't healing in my state of unconsciousness. That's the reason why they refused to give any answer. But the second I woke up, the wound healed, and all the residue of wolfsbane and silver was eliminated by my immune system."What happened to Chris and that lady?" I suddenly asked as I remembered those two."Both dead. And that lady was Doctor Henry's daug

I was not even fully out of the car."Yes, and already stationed our soldiers around the area." Oakley said, sending a wave of relief through me."Thank, goddess.""Don't worry, Jace. The situation is already in our control." Oakley flashed a shark grin and my eyebrows cocked in confusion. "Chris's soldiers look novice. They are not attentive at all, let alone alert.""I think he brought untrained wolves here. And I must add that his Beta and Gamma are not here either."I acknowledged with a nod, "He's probably doing it

It's that bìtch who always found ways to go near him.'There's no point in giving yourself false hope, Jenna. Jace isn't the man we thought he was. Accept it.' Gianna said.A feeling of disappointment rose over me. No! My wolf is not right here. She's hurt from Jace's wolf's words, and rest is the impact of wolfsbane.Jace loves us.'You really think that? Then tell me, why didn't he come after us when we left?'he He might have a reason.'No,' Gianna grunted weakly. 'It's because he was bewitched by his mistress's beauty and he chose her instead.'That's not true. I was breathless in anger. Gianna's words struck a chord that it shouldn't have.'I'll prove it to you that Jace still only loves us.'Having that said, I lowered my guard. Chapter 55Jenna's POVI regained my senses at the feeling of stabbing spasms stretching throughout my body. My eyelids were heavy and so I couldn't drag them open. But my other senses were working well.I could hear and smell and feel my surroundings. The air was crackling with the chirping of thousands of crickets, meaning that I was most likely in a forest area; or where there were a lot of trees.I dragged in a deep breath to catch scents, and realized that wood was burning somewhere. Then I heard the noise of fire crackling. A bonfire. I subtly rubbed my hand on the ground and sensed the coarse texture. Soil. All the elements directed to one point, I was in a forest. My eyes felt better now. I was about to open them when, "Hadn't she woken up yet?" A familiar voice asked."No, Alpha Chris. After she turned into her human form while fainting, she's been just like that." Someone said,It wasn't Cleo's voice. Hmm. Perhaps Chris flew all the way to Silent Hills city with a small team

Chapter 54Jace's POV "Let this be a lesson to all those who think they can fool the Alpha King just because I trust them." I announced as I paced around with a flaming torch in my hand. Behind me a pyre was built in the middle of the city for people to watch. On it Liza was tied to a pole. She was drenched with petrol and shaking. Her eyes were red. She begged me to let her go, that she was honestly apologetic. That she acknowledged her blunder and would go away. "My trust has never been a weakness. My willingness to believe in those who stand beside me does not make me blind, nor does my kindness make me a fool. I give people my trust because I choose to see the good in them. Because I consider them my previous ones. But the moment that trust is betrayed, do not mistake my silence for ignorance. And don't ever think that you can outsmart me."I came to a halt. The flames were crackling beside my face. It was night now, the sky was dark with no stars. There were light poles around
