MasukChapter 44
Jenna's POV
The execution day,
I have seen many executions in my life. When I was Chris' Luna, I witnessed many losing their lives on the pyre as they got hanged. I've seen men die other cruel deaths, and yet not once did my hands tremble. But Sasha's execution was the only one where my whole body was shaking overwhelmingly.
The force I used to keep my face intact had made my throat tighten.
"Ask them to stop it, Luna Queen. I swear I'll go away. Let me have my daughter. Please." Sasha begged as Oakley was busy filling a cup with a dark cerulean liquid.
He was unfazed by her cries, his face stoic like he was a statue of stone.
I curled my hands at my sides as my ears rattled with the cries of Sasha's daughter. I looked to my left at the Alpha couple who had insisted on adopting her. The infant was in Luna's arm and she was rocking her back and forth.
Sasha gave birth to her two days ago. Since her labor was long and tiring, she got two days to rest. Her husband Paul, though, was hanged yesterday because he tried to break out of the dungeons. He injured one of our soldiers and hence he was put to his eternal sleep before his wife.
"Luna queen, please. You're a mother. You can understand my feelings." She beseeched.
A part of me insisted that I consider her plea. But then my wolf reminded me of the wives who either killed themselves or were murder by their husbands in her influence. We recently found this out when the word got out she and her husband were arrested.
Sasha's crimes weren't just limited to wealthy married men. She also brainwashed some college guys and made them steal money for her. So one can imagine the kind of crimes she committed during her lifetime.
"Drink." Oakley slipped the liquid towards her.
Sasha's eyes faltered before they jumped to me, "Luna queen please!"
"Drink."
"Please, give me one chance. My daughter... Please let me be with her."
I gulped as I put my hands behind my back. Putting on a stoic face, I gestured with my eyes to Oakley, "If she doesn't take it herself, shove the liquid down her throat."
After five more minutes of imploring, she chugged the poison. The effects started showing right away. Blood oozed out of her nose, her eyes became red. She began to cough, and her skin started turning blue.
"You will never be happy, bìtch. I curse you. I," Cough. "Curse you and the Alpha king," Cough. "And your son too." Cough.
My hands clenched. I tamped down the urge to go to her and paste a slap that would kill her first before the poison. She was already dead, though. Hence, I didn't move.
"That arrogant Alpha and you," Cough blood. "You both will not see a moment of happiness after my death. I wish you both," Cough harder. "Suffer more than us. I wish someone comes to destroy you too Fûck you both."
With a loud cough, she dropped on the floor. She vomited dark red blood before she fell on the floor. She wriggled there for a while, struggling with her breaths. And then as we watched her, her eyes went cold as her body completely flattened on the ground.
That same moment she died, her daughter let out a loud cry. It was like she knew what was happening.
"She's yours now. I hope you take good care of her."
"Don't worry, Luna Queen. We will." The Luna assured me before they departed.
I stayed in the room. Taking one last look at Sasha's dead body, I left the room as well.
However, her words stayed with me.
Her curse... It repeated in my mind.
'You will never be happy, bîtch.'
A cold shiver zapped up my spine.
'What the hell! Don't think about it, Jenna. It was just a frustrated dying person's last words.' Gianna expressed in frustration over my thinking.
But don't they say: A dying person's wish comes true.
My skin tingled in a weird way. Maybe my wolf is right. I shouldn't think about it.
I came to my room to find my son sleeping on the bed. Caressing his head, I came to stand at the window. What I looked out in the gardens made my blood run cold?
Jace was sitting on one knee with Liza's right foot pulled up on his other leg. He was blowing on it. Liza faked cries. She was making a crying face one moment, then the next she was looking at me. A victorious smirk unleashed on her lips.
She subtly waved her fingers at me and said on the mind link, 'Don't be jealous, temporary Luna. You're not the only one the Alpha King goes on his knees for.'
I had no reply. I couldn't reply as one and only thing played in my mind like a broken record— Sasha's curse!
Was it already showing its effect?

Two months later,
"Jared, no! Don't go under there. It's dirty!" I shouted for the umpteenth time in the span of two hours.
"Hey! This little devil. I'm just gonna..." I trailed off as I watched him peeking out at me from under the table I didn't want him to go under.
My little devil is eight months old now. He's become a pro crawler. There's not a single place left in our room and in the living hall where he hadn't crawled off to. His favorite places are those where I don't want him to go.
To my chagrin, though, he does just that.
"Come out now, Jared. Stop bothering your Mamma." I placed my hands on my waist and eyed him.
"Nuuuu." He nodded his little face in a no.
I should've felt annoyed but I ended up chuckling. My son is learning to say new words these days. He's mastered the words 'Mamma', 'Dadda' and 'Ganna' (his grandparents), and these days he's been saying 'no' a lot.
He once heard Jace say it to him and he picked the word. But he doesn't say no as 'no', he says 'nuuuuu'. And it sounds the cutest in his voice.
"Baby, come out. Mamma is tired."
"Nuuuu. Mamma, nuuu." He flicked a finger as he said that.
This time my teeth clenched and I squinted my eyes at him.
"Don't say no. Come out here."
"Nuuu, Mamma."
I reached a hand out to pull him. He crawled farther away while squealing the loudest. This was fun for him. But for me, it was more laborious than advanced workouts. In fact, I don't really workout these days. My son is my biggest trainer and makes me do things even a gym trainer wouldn't get me to do.
"Jared, this is your last warning." I was sitting on my knees and looking under the table. "If you don't come out now—"
"Luna, can I try?" My body locked up as I heard an overly sweet and timid sounding voice.
A wave of intense irritation crashed over me. I turned around to find Liza there. Jace standing beside her.
"You both are back from the hospital?" I asked coldly, but Jace likely didn't pick my tone.

Chapter 58 Jace's POV We were silent for a long time. Neither of us spoke. Suddenly Jenna lifted her face and eyes me innocently."What?" I chuckled. She nodded in no, "You burned Liza alive."My face stilled. I pulled her closer and joined our foreheads, "I had to. She was the bane of our family."I kissed her."Also," I added. "She made me doubt my wife's intentions. I had to punish her."At that, she hugged me tighter and rested her face on my shoulder. She was sitting straddling my waist while I held her like my toddler baby.My back had healed. Hence, I was able to sit this way.The doctors had been worried because the wound wasn't healing in my state of unconsciousness. That's the reason why they refused to give any answer. But the second I woke up, the wound healed, and all the residue of wolfsbane and silver was eliminated by my immune system."What happened to Chris and that lady?" I suddenly asked as I remembered those two."Both dead. And that lady was Doctor Henry's daug
Chapter 57Jenna's POV 'Thanks, bro. Head towards the Rogues' territory with your team. I'll meet you there.''Roger that!''Okay.'We broke the link. I sucked a sharp breath as I focused on the road ahead. If I drive at high speed, I'll get there in twenty minutes.Jenna, hold on for a while, love. Your husband is coming to get you.(Twenty minutes later)"Jace, finally you're here." Oakley came running towards my car as I applied brakes."Did you find her location?" I was not even fully out of the car."Yes, and already stationed our soldiers around the area." Oakley said, sending a wave of relief through me."Thank, goddess.""Don't worry, Jace. The situation is already in our control." Oakley flashed a shark grin and my eyebrows cocked in confusion. "Chris's soldiers look novice. They are not attentive at all, let alone alert.""I think he brought untrained wolves here. And I must add that his Beta and Gamma are not here either."I acknowledged with a nod, "He's probably doing it
Chapter 56Jenna's POV Jace has never touched her before. He hadn't done it this time either. It's that bìtch who always found ways to go near him.'There's no point in giving yourself false hope, Jenna. Jace isn't the man we thought he was. Accept it.' Gianna said.A feeling of disappointment rose over me. No! My wolf is not right here. She's hurt from Jace's wolf's words, and rest is the impact of wolfsbane.Jace loves us.'You really think that? Then tell me, why didn't he come after us when we left?'he He might have a reason.'No,' Gianna grunted weakly. 'It's because he was bewitched by his mistress's beauty and he chose her instead.'That's not true. I was breathless in anger. Gianna's words struck a chord that it shouldn't have.'I'll prove it to you that Jace still only loves us.'Having that said, I lowered my guard. I had blocked out everyone and their feelings to avoid getting caught. However, as I lowered my guard, I could feel my family's emotions— Jace's first. He was
Chapter 55Jenna's POVI regained my senses at the feeling of stabbing spasms stretching throughout my body. My eyelids were heavy and so I couldn't drag them open. But my other senses were working well.I could hear and smell and feel my surroundings. The air was crackling with the chirping of thousands of crickets, meaning that I was most likely in a forest area; or where there were a lot of trees.I dragged in a deep breath to catch scents, and realized that wood was burning somewhere. Then I heard the noise of fire crackling. A bonfire. I subtly rubbed my hand on the ground and sensed the coarse texture. Soil. All the elements directed to one point, I was in a forest. My eyes felt better now. I was about to open them when, "Hadn't she woken up yet?" A familiar voice asked."No, Alpha Chris. After she turned into her human form while fainting, she's been just like that." Someone said,It wasn't Cleo's voice. Hmm. Perhaps Chris flew all the way to Silent Hills city with a small team
Chapter 54Jace's POV "Let this be a lesson to all those who think they can fool the Alpha King just because I trust them." I announced as I paced around with a flaming torch in my hand. Behind me a pyre was built in the middle of the city for people to watch. On it Liza was tied to a pole. She was drenched with petrol and shaking. Her eyes were red. She begged me to let her go, that she was honestly apologetic. That she acknowledged her blunder and would go away. "My trust has never been a weakness. My willingness to believe in those who stand beside me does not make me blind, nor does my kindness make me a fool. I give people my trust because I choose to see the good in them. Because I consider them my previous ones. But the moment that trust is betrayed, do not mistake my silence for ignorance. And don't ever think that you can outsmart me."I came to a halt. The flames were crackling beside my face. It was night now, the sky was dark with no stars. There were light poles around
