Wicked Crown

It's been a month since Katara learns that she is reincarnated in another world. She doesn't know how, or when but for sure god gives her a chance to live again. She learns that the real owner of this body got in an accident months ago, and then this happened.

She's pretty sure her soul chose this body, she is ten years younger now unlike before. She's twenty years old today, while in the other world she's thirty and died a virgin. Nobody knows how she is thankful for her second life, she's sitting at the table with her family and they're eating together. She had five cheerful siblings, her parents are kind and warm. For the first time, Katara felt the warmth of the family that she never had before. She's happy, her heart filled with so much joy that she could die.

"Here, eat this Kat. So that you'll gain more strength." Her mother put some dishes on her plate, she smiled.

"This too, sister." Her five years old sister said and put some sunnyside side-up eggs on her plate.

"Thank you, Hanna." She thanked her, and then pinched her cheeks. A month passes and she has already adjusted herself to the new environment. Sometimes she wakes up from a nightmare and finds her gun but then she realizes she doesn't need it anymore. She has already adjusted how to live this life. At first, she was hesitating to be comfortable with anyone because she thinks this is not her family but then this is her home now. This is what she prayed and hoped for every single day when she was in her previous life.

"You don't have to force yourself Katara, you can rest here." Her father said she inclined her head.

"I'm already okay papa, I can work now." She learns that she is a maid of a duke together with her mother they work there, while her father is a farmer. Even after months, they are still worried about her, so this feels like someone is worried about you?

Everything is new for her, but she likes it very much.

After they eat, Katara and her mother move to the mansion of the Duke together with their baggage, it's a little bit far because they use a carriage. They entered the mansion, some maids welcomed Katara and hugged her because she is back. She followed to enter the mansion of Duke. It's her first time here, so she can't help but be amazed by the place. They have a garden with wild rage, the hallway is full of luxury vases. The floor is shining, she feels like she's on Disney land.

They went into the maid quarter, she changed her clothes to her maid uniform, while she changed when someone entered.

"Katara, you're already here, we need your help. The duke's daughter is awake, let's prepare her bath."  She nodded to the woman who's likely the same age as her and then followed her, they entered a room and then they prepared the bathroom for the duke's daughter. They put some rose petals on the bathtub, and they also prepare different dresses for her to choose from and different soaps, also milk.

What a life!

After she made a choice, they accompanied her to her bathroom. It took almost an hour for her to take a bath, and then the next thing they did was to assist her to put on some clothes.

While she's in front of the mirror right now. A fellow maid is brushing her hair but even though she's carefully brushing her hair, she accidentally pulls some strands that make the duke's daughter yell in pain.

"Ouch!" She groaned, and then looked at the maid. She quickly pulled her hair, and the maid cried in pain.

"I'm sorry Miss, I'm sorry." The maid begged, Katara was about to enter the scene when one of her fellow maids stopped her. The duke's daughter let the maid go and then kicked her.

"Get out of my sight before I kill you." She said, the maid immediately went out while sobbing quietly. They continue what they're doing after the incident like nothing happened like it's not a big deal to them. Maybe this happens every day

"Everyone gets out!" The duke's daughter said, so they carefully moved.

"Exempt Katara, you'll be accompanying me." Katara was confused, wait? Why did she want her to stay? She blinked a few times before approaching her.

"What could I do for you, Miss?" She asked.

"I need your advice, wait. Are you alright, are you really fine?" The mistress asks, Katara is more confused but she manages to nod herself.

"I'm fine mistress, thank you for your concern." The mistress nods as she sprays some perfume on herself. The scents from her perfume spread to the room, as Katara sniffed it suddenly her headaches.

"Is it true that you didn't remember what happened to you? I was really worried about you."

"Yes, I can't really remember." She replied.

"Too bad, but let's not talk about it. What should I do? The selection for a crown queen is near, you know right. I have a person that I love." Katara doesn't know anything about her past relationships with the mistress, she didn't ask because she didn't expect that.

"I suggest to the Mistress that you follow your heart." Honestly, she doesn't know how to comfort someone or to give advice, she doesn't really have any ordinary problems like boy problems etc. Her problem is how she could kill someone, in her previous life. The safest advice she thinks is the famous saying in their previous life, just follow your heart.

"My father is forcing me to marry the person I didn't love, I just can't!" The mistress is starting to cry, Katara starts to panic. She doesn't know what to do!

"I just wanted to be with the person I love, is that hard enough?!"

"Do you want me to kil—" Katara stops when she realized what she was about to say, she almost blurted out about killing because she doesn't know how to make her feel better!

"What should I do, Katara? Should I flee?" Katara blinks a few times, why would she ask her?

"I don't really know Mistress, but if you love him then just follow your heart." She pressed her lips together.

"Yeah, should I do that?" Katara nods unknowingly.

Katara exited the Mistress room while she was walking in the hallway she heard some whispers.

"I don't really know what kind of potion she gives to Mistress and she likes her so much." Katara knows, she's the one they're talking about.

"I really admire her." It was sarcastic, Katara just ignored them because even she doesn't know why Mistress seems close to her before she got here. But even so, she can't seem to trust her.
