Chapter 34

The following morning, Sidd called and when I took my phone to answer the call, I remembered Radhika’s condition and dropped the phone. He kept on calling and I ignored him in tears.

My mom soon came into my room with a glass of warm milk.

“Rani, dear, what happened to you yesterday?” My mom asked tenderly as she handed the glass of milk to me.

“Nothing happened, Mom. I’m okay. I just need some rest, that’s all,” I responded with a faked-up smile.

“Are you sure, dear?”

“Don’t worry, Mom, I’m fine,” I assured and my mom sighed.

Later in the day, Sidd came to visit me. He knocked severally but I refused to open the door. Since the door wasn’t locked, he opened it and came inside. He met me seated on the bed simply staring at the door.

“Hey, Rani, what’s up with you?” he asked coming to sit beside me.

“Have you lost it, Sidd? Why would you barge in on me like that?” I rebuked coldly. Deep down I was bitter, I will never talk to Sidd in such a manner.
