Chapter 11
Water flicks onto my wrist and onto the back of my neck. I twist my wrist again, forcing the hair tie over my wet hair. It slides off my finger and holds. I lower my hands and look in the mirror. My hair was pulled into the crap bun, still wet. I wore a thin singlet and pyjama pants. I pull in a deep breath before heading down to the kitchen. Ember was in there alone, toast in hand. She looks up at me as I enter. "So you found your way out of the room. For a while I thought you may have got lost in there. My mistake." I ignore her and open the fridge. Cold air floods around my feet making my stomach clench uncomfortable. Finding nothing appealing in there I close the fridge and turn around only to find Bray standing in the door way. He didn't look as angry as I had expected him to be. Instead he looked calm and collected. And somehow that was worse. I say nothing and open the pantry door. I stare at the pancake mixture. I hadn't had pancakes for ages, I was craving them now. "What

Chapter 12
Tori and Ally were so silly as wolves. I watched from my bedroom window as they played in the snow outside. They raced over the snow like race horses over a track, or like a grey hound after a rabbit. But they had no goal, no finish. They raced along the tree line, squirmed under a fence then tore across the open ground until they reached the house, disappear around a wall and come back a minute later on the other side before starting all over again, only changing a minor things. How they had that much energy I didn't know. It was almost like someone had given them too much coffee and energy drinks and now they couldn't sit still. Tori and Ally suddenly clash together and I hear them yelping playfully at each other as they crumble into the snow. Movement catches my eyes and I look down to see a tanned wolf skirting the house, keeping out of sight of the other two wolves playing. Embers ears flicker towards them and she freezes, listening to them playing. A few seconds pass before sh

Chapter 13
"No!" I shriek staggering into the hallway. "Your hands are cold!" I complain half running half spilling down the hallway. Christian laughs at me. "Really?! I didn't notice!" he says grabbing me with arms that still had water glimmering on them. His cold hands raise goose bumps over my arms and make my stomach feel funny. "Stop! Let me go!" I laugh hitting his arms. I was still naked but I didn't care, I wanted to get away from his cold hands, his cold skin. "No! I told you I'm make you pay!" he grunts as I struggle, nearly choking on his own laughter. We'd been hunting earlier, looking for some pray and a found a river. We'd been following it when I'd playfully bumped Christian. He'd growled semi-playfully, telling me he didn't want me pushing him in the river. 10 minutes later he was climbing out of the river, soaked to the bone. He pulls me to his chest which was still damp. "I just thought I'd give you a nice big hug!" Christian laughs and lifts me of the floor, his arms still

Chapter 14
Carson was making something in bowl while Ally and Tori scavenged around the kitchen like vultures. Carson ushers them away half smiling as they giggle and slither away only to come back a second later. Miki's head was resting her arms on her arm which were folded onto the counter top. Ally suddenly spins around, a grin spread across her face. "Hayo!" she sings bubbly. "Hey..." I say frowning at her happiness. Only and Ally and Tori could always be this happy all the time. "Hey!" Carson shouts after Tori as she runs around the bench snickering. Tori laughs and licks what appeared to be chocolate cake mixture off her finger. "Out! Out!" Carson says shooing them out of the kitchen. Both girls laugh and dash out like hyper puppies. "Finally, they're gone!" Miki says exaggerating slightly, a small smile on her face. "They've been at it forever. Sometimes those two are too hyper." I sit at a seat in front of the counter, leaning my chin on a hand. A door opens and a few seconds later E

Chapter 15
My house—or should I say my parent's house was on the wolves territories -barely. I look at it from the tree line, remembering how for years I'd sit out on the back porch drinking hot chocolate with a blanket wrapped around my shoulders. I remember how I'd heard the wolves howling some nights, how I'd seen their ghosts dashing silently through the trees. It seemed so long ago. It seemed like that was a life time ago, and in a way it was. I was a wolf now, I wasn't living there. I lay down, watching my mum pottering around in the kitchen. Dark circles were under her eyes, her hair was pulled into a tangled bun and she hadn't worried about dressing nicely. It was painful to watch her. She thought I was dead and was grieving. But most of all I missed her. Ash cocks his head at me but I don't move. Inside I could hear the news over the TV that my mum wasn't even watching. It was talking about me, about how they suspected I was killed by the wolves. Ash lies down next to me so our shou

Chapter 16
Before I knew it the morning had come and Ally was barrelling down the hallway with Tori hot on her tail. They were laughing and shouting nonsense as they tumbled down the stairs, making more noise than an elephant on a rampage. A second later I could hear Bray mumbling something to himself. I look towards the window, my eyes feeling dry and sandy from lake of sleep. It might also have been because I was crying last night. I hadn't meant it but as I'd climbed into bed I'd started crying and couldn't stop. My chest still felt heavy and weighted down with the knowledge of my dad trying to shoot me and Ash. With a soft grunt I push myself out of bed. Pain coils through my bones and my stomach twists with the cold air. I push the change down, trying to stop the wolf from coming out. After a few seconds the pain subsides and my stomach settles down. Outside the sun was up, warm, golden light streaking across the white snow making it soft yellows and deep blue's where the sun didn't reach

Seventeen: Forthcoming
Ash's P.O.VI look up as Christian waltzes into the room, his hair messy and damp form melted snow. "They were wondering where you two were. Both Carson and Vic were joking she probably fell asleep with you. Wait til I tell them" he jokes leaning against the doorway.I shrug a shoulder gently, trying not to wake Irana who was still nestled into my side. "I'm sure they'll get a good laugh out of it"Christian shakes his head grinning at us. "Probably" he pauses before straitening up. "Hey, that bet we made. I'm pretty sure it was to kiss her, not to sleep with her" he scowls playfully."You just wish you were the one sleeping with her" I grin. We were both thinking dirty but somehow we both knew this wasn't a ,who-could-talk-the-dirtiest-with-it-being-true competition."Yep, then I'd die a happy man" He says putting a hand over his heart and dramatically looks at the ceiling like he was looking at heaven. But there was no way anyone could

Eighteen: Confession
Ash's P.O.V"Are you going to tell her?" Bray asks lining up the pool cue with the white ball on the table."Yeah, I just..." I run a hand through my hair because I really didn't know what to say. I wanted to tell Irana, but at the same time it seemed so...irrelevant. "I just haven't found the time""Like how you couldn't tell her while you were eating her face off last night?" Sky teases. He was leaning again the pool stick, his blond hair falling in his eyes.I roll my eyes at him and open my mouth to snap at him for the comment but Bray's stick hit's the ball and both me and Sky turn to see what was going to happen. Bray pockets a ball and does a fist pump while Sky just rolls his eyes. "Mature" he says sarcastically."You just grumpy because I have a chance of winning" Bray shoots back with a smirk."Grumpy? The grumpy one here is Ash!" Sky grins and positions himself against the pool table."I'm not grumpy!" I say defensive

Twenty: Intrigue
I curl into a ball on the bed, sighing as I sank onto the comfortable matrass. I pull my blankets to my neck in one quick, covering myself in there embrace. I was nearly asleep when the door swings open silently and light floods into the room. Groaning I push my face into the pillow, annoyed with whoever had opened the door.I open my mouth to tell the person off but door clicks closed and darkness falls over the room again. Removing my head from the blankets I settle back down, ready for the darkness to take me but I startle as the bed bounces. "What the hell?!" I hiss towards whoever had sat down on the edge of my bed.The blankets lifted up causing cool air to assault my legs. I let out a hiss of annoyance as my stomach clenches and my skin prickles. I claw for the blankets as the bed sways and shifts under me. The blanket falls onto me again and a second later is accompanied by someone's arms. "What are you doing?" I snap, feeling Ash's breath on my face
