Chapter 31

"What? Are you not going to talk?" Richard, who was unaware that they had an audience, asked before following his gaze. "Oh." He whispered."Destiny I think we should—" Wilhelm began. She stopped him in time with a stern look and took a walk to his side. "You must be very proud of what you did last night so much aren't you?""I was just trying to have what's mine. So yeah. I'm proud I'm doing it." Richard grinned."Well, news flash, you can try harder because I am never going to leave him and even if he does leave me, you'll be the last person on Earth I will come to if I have to choose again."

Maybe it was good that he left after all. She can finally dress or undress without having to look over her shoulders or hide in the bathroom to get things done. Her body was still pouring out steam when she came out of the washroom but the moment the wind blew, welcoming her into London weather, she wished she had closed the windows. She closed them and rolled the curtains over. She then dropped her towel and walked naked across the room to the dresser.Hell, it feels good to walk about freely.Destiny picked a thin silky singlet top and its matching shorts that barely covered her round ass.She applied a face cream then brushed her blonde hair and held it in a bun.Suddenly, the door opened, and thinking it was Wilhelm, she spoke."Where have your manners gone, Mr. Grey? You can't just barge in? What if I was naked?"She waited for his usual sarcastic smug reply but none came.

Even the gentlest knock by the door sent her flying out of her wits like a scared cat. Knowing who it might be, she exhaled before opening the door. It didn't help. He took her breath away anyway. "Shall we go?" She just nodded. Not finding it in her to talk to him. They checked out of the hotel and for the first time since the trip, Richard didn't join their car and he seemed to be minding his business. No more jealous glares, and no more being an asshole. They rode off in uncomfortable silence. Destiny pretended to be busy on her phone while Wilhelm steals glances at her

"No. How did you know it was her?" He questioned, eyes searching her face. She dropped her gaze as her cheeks flushed. "Have you been stalking me Destiny Blackmore." "No!""Then how the fuck did you know who I was with last night?""I came to look for you but then I heard voices." She gulped. "Yours and hers.""Then?""Coincidentally, she had to be the one to spill coffee over me this morning. Her voice rang a bell.."

When she got to the parking lot, she motioned for the valet to throw her the key. She caught it and hopped into the Porsche car. There was only one place in mind and she has been to similar ones already but nothing like being in Paris and not going there. This time is different. There was more to her visit to Pointes des Arts. She parked the car and leaned back in the seat. Her heart thud as the memories of being here at a time basked her mind. She took a deep breath and got out.As usual, the bridge never ran out of tourists and lovesick couples who are unintentionally literally tearing the bridge down with their unfortunate relationships.

Before his lips could touch hers she pushed forward and went for them lightly before stepping back, leaving him awed."What?" He asked in a surprise tone, his eyes all over her face."He's here so? You know the dude doesn't care even if we fuck in front of him anymore.”"Huh?" He whipped his head to the side. "Oh, he's here?"She stared at him through her glasses unbelievably."Don't tell me you didn't know he was here.""Of course, I knew.""Then why…you forget. That's why it's not needed anymore.""Can you be specific? What won't be needed anymore?""I mean the kiss. Well, we weren't supposed to be doing it anyway.""Noted!" He nodded and pushed his hands into his pockets. Destiny gazed at him secretly , thanks to her dark shades.Today, he was wearing skinny blue jeans. It hugged him so tight that Destiny had the urge to step back behind

37

" I can't tell you!" She screamed back at him."And why is that?"" It's personal.""Personal?""Rather tell me why you're interested.""You don't wanna know." He attempted an American accent which she compared with his French. He’s woefully incapable and that oddly calmed her temper."Yes I want to.”He smiled. "Since it's personal, I either back off or do it my way. It's my decision to make."He looked determined and Destiny knew she couldn't break that."Alright but you can at least tell me where you got that key from.""Not when I'd have to end up looking like the bad guy. A home-wrecker.""I thought you knew what you were getting into when you proposed that we should date.""Yes but this looks as if I am doing it purposely to separate you two.""No!""Pretending to be lovers is to make him regret and feel pain for what he did to

38

"So, where are you taking me?" "Us." "Okay." Her eyes rolled in. "Where are we going?" "You'll see." "Alright." She turned to the window and watched everything that he drove past. "You know, I've got a hunch that you're up to no good." "I'm not going to have you slaughtered." "Then?" " It's just something that I don't believe I'm about to do with you." He pulled into a lot. "What?" She scanned the area. It looked— No it was a gas station but something about the cars parked in the lot and the people moving inside the Mart made it suspicious. "I don't do drugs." She blurted, a tip of panic seeping in."What?" He asked, cackling. "I don't do it either."

As creepy as it's going to seem, she couldn't shake away the urge to confirm if it was him or someone else. It’s two things. It's either she gets relieved or regrets it. As she staggered in the direction of the moans she realized without doubt that it’s the latter; Regret. She stopped in front of the men's washroom where it's loudest and leaned her ears against the door to listen clearly."Wait." She heard a lady say in a breathy tone. "I thought you were here with someone." Destiny’s heart skipped when realization hit her. They know each other. "If I could do what I want to do to you now

40

"Keep it. I don't want to hear it." The last thing he wanted was to have her telling him what she's going to regret when sober. She pouted. "Then you should leave." Then folded her arms across her chest. It cracked him up. The broken glasses that she's still barely aware of were still hanging on her face. It also revealed her brilliant blue eyes which are now dull and lifeless. Her entire face has almost been smudged by her lipstick. Her golden locks only need a hand to comb through to bring it back to perfection.Apart from that, every other thing is in place but if it had not been, she'd still look perfect and remain the most beautiful woman in
