Chapter Eighty-One.
Sporadic gunshots disturbed the air that evening, in company was the controversial voices, the painful cries and slurped pleas to be pardoned. A man was dragging another by the tuft of his hair and down into the center of an old warehouse. The mafioso who was being forced to endure such harsh condemnation was tossed over the ground, hitting things and laying over the ground, in the middle of a large group of men. Stefano aimed his firearm and dealt puncturing holes to his ankles, wringing out a harrowing painful cry from Tobias who bent his body to tend to the punctures. Then Stefano moved closer and squatted before the shivering man trying to nurse his busted ankles and failing to control his cries. “You see all those carcasses laying around…” Stefano spoke in a malicious sweet voice, emphasizing on every syllable of his words and gesturing with the gun in his hand, drawing an arc as he highlighted the dead bodies around. “…you got a second, Tobias. I’m in a good mood today you kn

Chapter Eighty-Two.
Bloom groaned, her face scrunching up with repine as she fastened her arm around Ella’s torso and pulled her arm over her shoulder. “Did you quit your job just so you could waste your time drinking?” The disgust was in her hushed voice as she supported her drunken friend's weight, practically dragging them both along the empty sidewalk. The reply she got was slurped gibberish and she sighed, wishing she wasn’t there that night. But she was the person who got called and was less busy so she had to go help her friend out. “Honestly…you should quit drinking Ella, it’s really not your thing”. Ella was drowsy and groggy as she leaned entirely onto the smaller woman who groaned. Bloom took in her hopeless state and frowned. She knew there was no use reprimanding her now and just hoped they would find a taxi soon and go home. She had put a call to Hayes who was out with Mario and informed him about it before she grabbed her coat and came bounding towards the club to rescue her wasted frie

It appeared they were after Bloom since Ella had jumped to push her out of the way. And also when they stood there, if they were after Ella, they would’ve driven a second bullet into her body and ended her life. But they seemed to be more concerned about his woman. His brows creased as he peered into the rearview mirror to see her tearing the bloodied sleeve of her friend’s sweater. Bloom tore her own sweater and was using the piece to gently wrap around the injured area of Ella’s arm. Ella was in pain, never had her body received such pain before. Bloom kept muttering her sorrys and when she was done, she sat closely next to her friend, bringing her head onto her shoulder and patting her head while her other arm went around her shoulder. Hayes’s gaze dimmed and his features steeled significantly. Whoever they were, it was obvious they must’ve been contracted by someone who was his enemy. ***“I already called the room service, so don’t be all pouty. Food is on the way” Anna giggle

Sergio in reference giggled with Mario and gripped his hair, pulling the black wig off to reveal his dyed brown hair beneath. “That mean brat never fancies talking about me so it’s fair you never heard about me. He's embarrassed to have me as his brother, you see.” He was acting like a child, speaking with a pouting voice as he dusted the wig in his hand, putting on a pitiful, despondent air and slouched shoulders. Bloom giggled within, well versed on his antics while her lover now held a more confused look, the apprehension completely dispersed. Stefano would never act in such a petulant and shameful manner, would he? They were all convinced firmly now as they watched his childish attitude. Bloom nudged him, “When did you get here? Did you come to see someone? Did you go home before heading here?” Sergio sluggishly shook his head sideways, still pouting as he spoke in that same sad tone of voice, “No…I traced you both here as soon as I arrived home soil. You were both top priorit

“What the heck is wrong with you both?!” Anna shouted angrily at them, a hand on her chest that tried to calm her racing heartbeat. Ella looked spooked out of it and Bloom seemed like she saw everything coming as she giggled quietly. The brothers would never get over such perks it seemed. Mario looked like he was about to cry and when his father got a glimpse of his face, the look he passed at the twins made them shiver and move to do what was expected of them. They quickly apologized and the little boy held on tighter to his daddy who still maintained his unwavering, repulsive glare towards the men. “I’m really sorry about that…and you” Stefano apologized once more and glared his brother’s way, “Never pull such a dangerous stunt like this again”. His voice was weighty with a threat rather than a sleek warning. Sergio shrugged, putting his firearm behind him, “I see you knew I was in here that’s why you were quick to whip out yours as well, huh”. Stefano was silent for a brief mom

“H-how…d-did y-you- W-who are you?” That was when groggy footsteps were heard from down the long hallway and a voice came drifting to where they were. “Mom…are you there?” It was her daughter and she whipped around to see the outline of the girl trudging towards with the heel of her left wrist rubbing against her eyes, a yawn escaping her lips. “Laura” She was going to call out to the girl when she recalled she was still with company. However, upon turning around to address the stranger once more, she blinked. They had…left. The stranger had discreetly snuck out of the house the same fashion they had shucked in. Mounting the motorcycle, ‘In due time, you will come to know of my true identity’. * The nurse had just completed her checks on the patient when she stepped out and strode down the corridor. After she had gone far enough, a figure darted out from a corner and stealthily stalked towards the ward she had just exited. The door came open very slowly, casting the lights from

“This will come as a surprise to you but, we’ve met each other before…way back before your audacious entrance into my life that day” Hayes was speaking close to the shell of her ear, infiltrating her system with his beguiling poison and she jerked her head backward so she could look into his face. Escaping from his whorls of enchanting snare, she asked fastidiously, “We had met before that day…” She was referring to the day they met for the first time and he hummed, answering her thought. “I guess Ben never told you about it then. I had told him about this…that night you were both on the run with your mother and you had come across us…a little boy and his father laid unconscious on the wet floor- “It was showering that night…and that large building was caught up in hellish flames…” She interrupted him as her eyes began to expand in proportion to her realization as she began to recall the event of that day, many years ago. Her hand was slowly lifting and approaching his face, shakin

Pablo scoffed, “Last time I checked, you aren’t the only trusted ally he has, Alexa. I know you abhor me for what happened in the past but this is a crucial matter and we can’t let our emotions take control over us and influence our decisions”. “I implore you, lets put our differences aside for once. Constantly butting heads like this gets us nowhere” He spoke with such carefulness in his vocals despite his displeasure towards her rude and inconsiderate behavior. Alexa didn’t utter a word nor did she give any sign of compliance as she remained silent. Pablo still nailed his gaze on her side profile for seconds until she scoffed and propped her elbows over the table, rolling her steely gaze over to him for the first time that day. However, what she intended to say was not for him as she plucked her gaze from him and threw it over to Hayes. “Do you think it wise to have left like that, leaving your father vulnerable to that witch?” Hayes in reference cackled, “If there’s one person l

Pablo wondered about the little boy’s whereabouts when he didn’t see him and smiled, ‘Oh’. Mario was at the table next to theirs where there were two other little boy’s who occupied the table with their parents. ‘He’s made new friends for himself huh’. “…you think the directors will prove to be problematic to the process?” Pablo reeled his attention back to his friends who were still deeply into their conversation. Alexa huffed arrogantly to Hayes’s test and replied effusively, “It’s not like they could have a valid reason to do that. I’m doing them a favor, they should be thankful at most”. Pablo chuckled at her arrogance and chimed, “You get so cocky Alexa, don’t forget mishaps could always occur”. His taunt earned him a deathly glower from her, “That’s where the stark difference between us lies prominent. I best you in efficiency, such absurd mistakes are not to my attribute”. Pablo’s expression was robbed, instantly replaced with a flummoxed one as Hayes chuckled. These two w

“Mario! Your father’s gonna leave you behind if you don’t come downstairs now!” Bloom hollered towards the staircase from the hallway and got replied by the boy’s shriek. “I’m coming! Daddy please don’t leave- ah! I found the stocking!” The mother giggled as she paced back into the kitchen to pack up the boy’s lunchbox. His father was seated at the breakfast bar and lifted a brow when he saw his lover giggling into her palm and approaching the island. “Why are you busy giggling to yourself? Up to your mischief with him again huh”. He sipped his steaming coffee and Bloom flinched, her face heating beet red and his gaze simmered, ‘Cute’. She shook out of it and cleared her throat as she opened the top cabinet cupboards. “He’ll be down soon, you should also get ready. My class today begins in an hour so you don’t have to drop me off”. That was because threes weeks ago after they had all returned from the short trip to the resort, she had picked up her old interest in baking and had
