Gia"Forest Hills?" I replied, sounding a little confused. "I thought this was Whitehaven?"The guy jerked his head backward with a quizzical scowl. "How the fuck do you know about this place?""But you just said that this was Forest Hills. Make up your damn mind," I spat back in retaliation."Claw, quit fooling around and grab her before she takes off," the guy who kidnapped me yelled, his tone holding a warning growl."This is Whitehaven," Claw answered my question. "Forest Hills is the town we're in. What I can't figure out is how you know about it.""Like fuck I'm gonna tell you," I replied, readying myself to run.I had never tried to run with my hands tied behind my back before. It would be just my luck to fall face-first into a steaming pile of cow shit.Claw second-guessed my next move and shook his head. "I wouldn't do that if I were you."The guys all chuffed with laughter as if this was their daily entertainment. The others dragged the women into the warehouse like they wer

Kian“I hate to break it to you, guys, but we've got a traitor in the club,” Alpha Jax spoke in his gravel-rough voice, his piercing blue eyes ablaze with fury.“One of our own has been pulling all kinds of shady shit, and the elders are all over it,” he growled, scrubbing a hand over his face. “Drugs . . .” He flicked his gaze to me, knowing how much I despised that filth. “Stealing firearms from the docks.” Jax huffed an exhausted sigh.“But those are the Reaper's guns. Who the hell would be dumb enough to steal from him?” Blade spoke out, saying what we were all thinking.Jax nodded in agreement. “Exactly. Who would be dumb enough to pull that shit?”We all exchanged suspicious glances, but no one came out and said what they were thinking. There was only one person I had in mind, and he was right at the top of my shit list.“The problem we have is that our name is being dragged through the mud. We're being blamed for this. Someone wants us gone, and they've recruited one of our own

KianAce and Blade were already riding out through the front gates. The thundering music of bike engines roared like tigers as they raced along the street. Our clubhouse was in the shittiest part of our neighborhood. All residents knew to run and hide as soon as they heard us coming.A couple of prospects were standing guard over the entrance. They gave a curt nod toward me as I rode past, showing me that they recognized their superior. Just as well. I was only planning on dealing out one death sentence tonight, and that was Claw's.We cruised down to the abandoned warehouse that Claw had supposedly claimed as his den. His ride wasn't anywhere to be seen, but there were telltale signs that folks had been there recently. Deep tire tracks scored through the dusty earth at the front of the building and deeper ones tore up the dirt track that weaved through the fields. No one came in that way unless they were smuggling something into the state. I had a bad feeling about this.“Where the h

KianHer blue eyes locked with mine, searching for the slightest hint of a lie. She had that look of distrust about her . . . like she was used to people letting her down. That was all about to change. If there was anyone she could learn to count on, then that would be me. It had been a long time since I had held anyone dear to me. Too long since I treasured something close to my chest as if it were the most precious thing on this earth. My whole future was staring back at me, crying out for me to seize it. The beast in me wanted to sink its teeth into her neck and claim her for my own, but a faint voice inside my head was beseeching me to hold off. To give her time to warm up to me and learn to love the monster I’d become.I pulled out a switchblade from my back pocket, and her eyes flared wide. Maybe I should have warned her first, and I sure as shit shouldn't have chuckled, but I just couldn't seem to stop myself.“Hold still, I’m just gonna untie your hands.” I tried to make my vo

KianGia borrowed a spare pair of jeans and a pair of Claw's stinking old boots to ride home in. The second we reached my apartment, her eyes scoured around the lively streets like she was anxious to be out in the open. The guys from the opposite apartment were burning a pile of mail and newspapers in an old rusty trash can. I curled my fingers back and forth, signaling her to take off the boots. She did as I instructed, and I hurled them into the flames, glad to be rid of them. For a shitty back street alley, the ground was clear of splintered glass and debris thanks to Gunner being such a neat freak. At least she wouldn't cut her feet on the asphalt.“Here we are. Home sweet home," I indicated, pointing to the iron staircase at the back of the tattoo shop. They zigzagged all the way up to my apartment.Gia glanced up, squinting her eyes. "You live here?" She didn't sound appalled, which was a plus point. More like intrigued."Yeah, ever since I turned sixteen and could afford to pay

Kian"Here, why don't you freshen up and let me take care of everything else?" I said, handing her the bundle. She was just about to apologize for being a burden, but I exaggerated clearing my throat with an abrupt, “ahem”. "Go on, get." I jerked my head. "I need to square a few things with the Prez and have the doctor check you over."Gia bobbed her head and smiled. As soon as I heard the soft click of the bathroom door closing, I pulled out my phone and called Dr. Rayne. She informed me she would be over within the hour, so I contacted Jaxton next."Hey . . ." He answered the call in an anxious tone. "Blade and Ace told me what happened. I thought I gave you strict instructions to bring all captives to the clubhouse? What part of that order confused you? Because it seemed pretty straightforward to me.""I got this one, bro. Just trust me on this, okay?" I replied, pacing the living room floor."It doesn't work that way, and you know it. We need to find out what she knows. Maybe she

Kian"I went there hoping to follow those guys back to Whitehaven. You could say I got my comeuppance." She toyed with the food on her plate, pushing the rice to one side with the tip of her fork.I continued to eat, stabbing my fork through another chicken ball."How come you knew about this place? What connection do you have with Claw and the Hellhounds?" I asked, trying to connect the dots."My mother said that my dad was from around here. I don't know Claw or any of those wolves you mentioned. I assume they were wolves. Claw mumbled something about them being filthy mutts. All I know is that they're going around kidnapping women to use as fuck toys and baby-makers. That fucker Claw was about to rape me before they called him away. Something about the Alpha wolf being onto them . . . or something like that.""Alec from Whitevale. I guess they've rattled all the wrong cages," I said, mulling that over.Jaxton would be relieved to hear about that. If Alec White learned of their antic

Gia Kian's room smelled just like him: leather, smoke, and engine oil. He hadn't made his bed this morning, leaving the comforter in a bundled heap. I had to straighten it out before I could lie down. His mattress was so soft it was like I was floating on a cloud. The same whitewashed walls flowed throughout the apartment. He wasn't big on cleaning. I could tell by all the dirty fingerprints around the light switches. His house was far from filthy, just disorganized. There weren't any pictures or posters anywhere, certainly nothing that could tell the story of his life. Beast, Kian, or whoever he said he was, remained a mystery. He didn't own matching furniture; it was as if he'd gained things as the years went by. Bike parts were on top of every surface like greasy ornaments. My eyes landed on the ashtray full of cigarette butts, giving away the fact that he smoked. Was he the kind of guy who liked to light up after he fucked? I glanced around to see if I could spot any feminine ite

GiaA jealous feeling I had no right to feel slithered around in my stomach. It left an ugly, bitter taste on my tongue. I couldn't even justify it."I can do that," he answered as if convincing himself. The mattress dipped under his weight, and I shuffled over to give him a little extra room. Now we were shoulder to shoulder, awkwardly close with only the comforter separating us."So . . . I'm really part shifter," I said, letting that information filter through my head.He handed me a root beer, then reached for the other. I took a large mouthful, the fizzy liquid tickling my nose."Yup," he answered, taking a swig from his bottle. "The doc confirmed it. I can't believe I missed it, but you did stink of a dozen other dogs.""Dogs?" I cast sly eyes, detecting the disdain in his tone. "You don't like wolves much, do you?"He gave an indifferent shrug. "Most of them are entitled asshats; present company excused.""That's good to know because I can't help my parents. I don't feel differ

KianI couldn’t sleep.Violent thoughts whirled around my head like a tornado. I wanted to hunt down and kill Claw, but that was a dumb idea. It had to be done right. There was no way I could wage a personal war without dragging the entire club into it. Gia was mine, and that was the second half of the problem. One thing was stopping me from telling her that. I didn’t want to influence her choices. If she felt any spark of attraction toward me, it had to be as nature intended. Not because I turned all “caveman” on her ass and dragged her to bed by her hair. That wasn’t me. I wasn’t Claw.Gia didn’t deserve a moron like him, or a monster like me. She deserved so much better. It was usually peaceful out here on the balcony top at this time of night. A high-pitched war was taking place in the parking lot. I peered over the rendered wall to scan the ground below. Two stray cats were fighting like Berserkers and making enough damned noise to wake the dead. It made a change — me being a spe
