Lea. “Alpha, it’s time. We are about to carry the Alpha to the arena for the funeral.” My heart squeezed painfully at Emilio’s words. A funeral... Goddess, was I dreaming? Please tell me I was just having a nightmare and my man is still alive and well. I swallowed with difficulty as the lump in my throat felt bigger. I was in Manuel’s office standing by the window, staring at the trees in the distance while hugging myself. It was so cold. I felt cold… empty even. When you meet your mate, they become the very breath you breathe. How was I going to breathe without my oxygen? We hadn’t marked each other but our connection was still strong. He had become my purpose for living too quickly and now I didn’t know how I would go on without him by my side. Could I even go on? “Alpha?” I whipped my head around, rubbing my arms. Emilio had a sad look on his face as he stood there in an all-black outfit. This was starting to feel a tad too real. I still didn’t want to believe he

Luca. If someone tells you that women are complicated, believe them. Not even the world’s most intelligent man can understand these creatures. I, for one, didn't know what to do with my little witch right now. She was so hot and cold. Sometimes she seemed as if she wanted me, other times it was as if I was her worst enemy. When we all thought the Alpha was dead, she had become very sad. She blamed herself for being a pureblood witch who was supposed to ensure nothing is going against the natural order of things. I remember how hard it was for her when she gave me that golden dagger to use in case something happened to the Alpha. The last three days had been difficult for us all. I spent most of the time comforting Sienna as she cried in my arms, but the moment the Alpha woke up, she pushed me away like I burned her. I won't lie, she confused the hell out of me. Did she want me or not? "Aren't you supposed to go train the warriors or something?" My feisty witch's voice snappe

Luca. My heart leaped to my throat the moment Natalie tried to interrupt the Alpha's union. I knew for sure that he would banish her there and then for her daring actions… Whatever was going on in her head to accuse the Alpha of being her baby's daddy? She had two puncture marks on her neck that she tried to hide but her mixed scent was a big giveaway that she had been marked by a man who wasn't an Alpha. I sighed, running a hand through my hair as I stood on the balcony outside my bedroom back at our mansion. Perhaps I should send her away from the pack? What would dad say when he comes and discovers what has become of her? "Luca…" Sienna's soft voice came from the glass doors behind me. I whipped my head around and gave her a forced smile. "Hey…" She was still in the dazzling mermaid red dress she wore for the union looking as beautiful as ever. Her lips curled up into a smile. "I've seen to it that Natalie is resting peacefully. Sergio is in the guest room." "Mmmm..

Lea. Two weeks had passed since our union and I was now getting used to the role of co-Alpha. Not that I did anything anyway but people calling me Alpha was something that I needed to get used to. But overall, life was great. Manuel was a good mate and partner. He loved me every day as if it was the last. Goddess, I was so grateful he came into my life. The council had been obedient and submitted to us because they didn't want to be disbanded and Manuel and I agreed that we needed someone to keep law and order among the packs. It took some time but the warriors we sent out had managed to find and return the girls who had been kidnapped, much to our relief. The mansion was no longer a quiet place. Mario and Ricardo brought some life to it and it would be lively mostly during meal times. Luca and Sienna just had their mating ceremony a week ago and had gone for a two weeks holiday in the human town. They looked happy. Luca had tremendously matured and stopped playing

Emilio. I had been a little down lately seeing the people around me be all mushy with their mates. In my head, mates just bring you great suffering when it wasn't even your choice to be bonded to them. But seeing the love between the Alphas and even how Luca, a full-time playboy changed made me think twice about my beliefs. Was I wrong? If I was then I had made the biggest mistake of my life back at the light cloud pack. Yes, I had met my mate when I went there. But because I was so enraged with how the Alpha's mate made him suffer, I loathed the idea of mates and did something irreversible to my mate. I sighed as I took off my shirt, walking to the forest line to patrol with Luca and the Alpha. It has been a while since we did this as just us men because of the Alpha's wolf so today was like a reunion of some sort for our wolves. I felt a small stone land on my chest and I looked up to find the Alpha looking at me, shirtless with folded arms while Luca was stretching his li
