"Are you busy?"I raised a brow at a smiling Bradley. I looked pointedly at my stack of papers and then back up at him. "What do you think?""Stupid question?""Stupid question." I agreed. I sighed. " Can I help you?"He pursed his lips. "What happened to you calling me sir?" I snorted. "You and your brother asked if I wanted to be in a threesome with you two."His eyebrows raised. "We didn't ask you to join a threesome. We said we'd both like to date you. Separately." I shrugged. "Semantics."He laughed. "Okay." He sat down on the edge of my desk. Richmond had gone out for a smoke a while ago, and he'd said he wanted the paperwork done by the time he came back. Yet I looked up expectantly at Bradley. "What you can help me with is telling me if you're available tonight.""Tonight." I echoed. He nodded, crossing his arms over his chest."If It's convenient of course." He shrugged his shoulders. "We could reschedule if you're busy." I shook my head quickly."No, tonight's perfect I ju

Bradley couldn't stop staring at me, I didn't know whether to be flattered or self conscious about it. My hair has never been this short, or straight. I've always worn my hair in a bundle of long curls or just a bundle of shorter curls. Right now, my hair reached my ears. It was cut on the sides, and straightened, then parted in the middle to frame my forehead. I thought I looked weird, Conner said I looked hot and Jessica's mouth had dropped open.Bradley hadn't taken his eyes off my hair since he picked me up. I shifted in my seat, clenching the menu in my hand. I cleared my throat. "S–so, what's good here?" Bradley's eyes snapped down to meet mine. He looked confused. I asked him again. "What's good here?""Oh, sorry you just...you look good. Really good." His eyes roamed my face. I felt my face flush and I cursed myself. I wasn't used to being given compliments, especially from rich guys that were clearly out of my league. "Thanks." I gulped, trying to regain my stupor. "Uh, the

Getting ready this morning was more of a task than it usually was. In the mornings, I usually just air dried my curls and brushed through them a bit, but this morning, I had to straighten my hair to maintain the hairstyle Connor had given me on Friday. And I also had to put more effort into my outfit, because—well I honestly don't know. Because I wanted to impress Bradley and Brandon today? Maybe? Connor had left what looked like his entire closet with me. No matter how many times I'd told him to take everything back he'd just brushed me off and told me he had more than enough clothes back at his place. Looking at all of his clothes on Monday morning, I started to doubt him again.Connor had tried to make this easier on me. He'd arranged all the clothes in every single possible outfit I could make with them and then take pictures so I didn't forget. I now had thirty new outfits to choose from, which was difficult because I didn't know what would be appropriate for work. They weren't

By the end of the day, I'm ready to crawl into bed. We were particularly busy today, Richmond had sporadic meetings all day and we'd also had to draw up contract after contract and go through a ton of reports the departments had sent in.Richmond had been working as if on auto pilot for the whole day since this morning. He'd been radio quiet; he'd even ignored some of the spelling mistakes in the documents I'd typed. The others had noticed it too and Richmond had received plenty of weird looks throughout the day which he'd graciously ignored. It was strange, but I forked it down to him being burnt out and tired. He'd had a lot to do this week, and it was nice not having him bitch at me for every small thing that by the end of the day, I'd gotten used to it, which was why I nearly jumped out of skin when he spoke a full sentence to me as I was packing up to head home. "Crawford Investments' sixtieth anniversary is coming up." He said. I let out a less than manly squeal and almost dro

Compiling the list of our company's partners was easy. It was contacting all thirty of them and inviting them to the banquet that took a while. It would've been easy, if Richmond didn't have me running around like a headless chicken the entire time. He wanted to have most of his work done before we left for Paris, which meant I was running around delivering documents and passing on messages and typing contracts and retyping them later on and on top of that I also had to attend all his meetings with him. I barely had time to do my original task. I ended up working three more hours than I should've.I sighed as I wrote down the last contact on the list. It was dark, I could tackle that one tomorrow. By now, I was sure everyone had already left for home. The space felt empty, eerie and creepy. I wondered how Richmond handled it. He'd already left some time ago though. Which was a first for probably everyone on the entire planet; Mr. Richmond leaving the work place earlier than everyone e

Being woken up by my ringtone the next morning was horrendously more annoying than it usually was on normal days. Because it was my day off, I was supposed to be sleeping in until the sun had already hit the middle of the sky, but it seemed some people had other plans for my agenda today. It was still dark as I peeled my eyes open. I turned my head, the time on my clock read five fifty three, am. I groaned and picked up the phone, rolling my eyes at the flashing name on my screen, regretting the invitation I'd given him the night before.Nevertheless, I answered the call, settling back under my covers to hide from the early morning chill."Took you long enough."I yawned. "It's five in the morning.""You told me to call you if I had a problem." His voice didn't sound gruff, he'd probably been up for a while. "At five in the fucking morning?""Watch your mouth. And yes, I get up early." I rolled my eyes."That's good for you, sir, but I don't." I sighed. The line cracked, like he was m

Richmond didn't like the museum.I would've thought that a man of his... Stature would appreciate a place like this but Richmond looked like he'd rather be hit over the head with a large stone and buried alive than be there. I couldn't identify if his disdain for the place was because he lacked a sense of art or because he couldn't stand being around people for long periods of time.He was as stiff as a board, making a face at a painting, his blue eyes squinting at the splashes of colors that strangely resembled his eyes. A woman moved beside him, a few feet away from him, a camera in her hands. He hissed at her. She flinched, startled, and ran away so fast you'd think Richmond was a wild animal. I rolled my eyes, deciding then that his disdain for the art gallery was clearly because of the people that milled around.Richmond went back to glaring at the painting. I stepped up to him. "I don't think you're going to be able to truly see the art that way sir."He made a sound that was t

The next morning, Brandon cornered me at the office. I'd just got off the elevator, when he jumped out of a corner, looking flustered and ... very disheveled. I jerked back a step, almost spilling the contents of the cup in my hand. If I had spilled even a drop of the coffee, Richmond would've had have my head. or at least he would've talked me to death about the importance of efficiency."um, hi." I cocked my head. "Do I want to know why you were hiding back there?"he shook his head, looking flustered. "Probably not." after a moment, he sighed. "I was hoping to catch you.""Ah, I still don't understand.""Just in case you were avoiding me." I must've still looked confused. he spluttered. "I-its just that me and my brother didn't exactly behave...accordingly the other day and I just...""You wanted to see if it'd scared me off?" He shook his head. "No. yes." he sighed. "I came to apologize, we shouldn't have made the center of our childish feud."With all that I had going on yest

"The seating plan arrangement for the banquet is not right." Richmond said, his brows furrowed crossly. "We'll have to redo the entire thing by Wednesday." I set the papers I was stapling down. Richmond was still frowning at the papers and I didn't even want to try and remind him that we've redone the seating plan four times in the last week. "I underestimated how much work this was gong to be." he continued. I bit my lip, that meant I had to cancel my plans for dinner. which, wouldn't have been big deal, if Brandon wasn't coming. Richmond look up and raised a brow. I'd been silent too long."Ill pay you overtime, of course." I shook my head."No sir, I know. its just that I have to cancel dinner plans is all. "He leaned back in his seat, his long legs peeked out from under his big desk. "Who are you having dinner with?""Just, Jessica and a friend of ours, and...Brandon." I responded. He nodded looking thoughtful." I see no reason to cancel." he said coolly. "Its just a seating pl

It seemed that traveling brought the worst out of Richmond. His hair was a mess from the number of times he'd run his hands through it and I'd lost count of the number of cigarettes he'd smoked in the last hour. Our flight was delayed and we had to wait two hours before we could leave. Brandon had done his best to try an calm his uncle but Richmond didn't want to hear it. He was on multiple phone calls at a time, going back and forth between talking with the staff in Paris and calling in with the airport staff to ask for a new pilot. This was a new side of Richmond id never seen, stressed and utterly confused. I couldn't decide whether to feel sorry for him or revel in his current state. Brandon sighed, getting off a phone call with the hotel manager in Paris. "I've never been more than happy to be just a lowly assistant than i have been right now. " I joked. He laughed, pocketing his phone. "And I've never been more jealous of someone's job." I shrugged. "You can only dream." I
