Skye's POV I resisted the urge to meet with Ava last night after the mild argument we had that afternoon but seeing her this morning, her hair up in her usual ponytail and in those tight fitting black jeans and jacket, I couldn't resist her anymore. She was extremely beautiful each time I looked at her. I felt a burning desire in my heart that I couldn't explain. Her lips were always inviting anytime I saw her. She had a way of keeping me mesmerized. She walked past the olive trees and delved deeper into the woods. I looked away from the window and walked out the door, with an intent to follow her. Getting outside the house, a cold wind blew past me and I realized the weather was still cold. In my haste to catch up with her, I had forgotten my jacket. I walked through the snow, it was way too steep for human legs so I shifted into my wolf form. It was easier catching up with Ava this way. I caught a sniff of her scent in the air and in no time I found her by the lake that had alre

Ava's POV I left the blood moon's mansion and went back to my pack's house without informing anyone where I was going to. I found my uncle seated with the elders."A meeting without me?" I questioned when I saw them."Ava," uncle said, looking in my direction. "I just sent for you. Daniel must have missed you on his way." He added, and I nodded in understanding."What is going on?" I asked noticing the elders were not looking happy.Uncle hesitated. "What is it, uncle?" I asked, with more demand."We've lost two members of the pack," he said."What?" I exclaimed in bafflement. He nodded. "They're part of the stubborn ones that refused to come stay with the pack," he explained."Do they have families?" I asked and he nodded."They've been brought to the pack,""I'm afraid that he'll find us here soon," Mary said worriedly."Have the barriers been set?" I asked."That would not be enough, alpha. With just us here, how can we defend ourselves?" John asked."You're now married to the bloo

Ava's POV I walked down the stairs after putting on a clean shirt. I felt a little weak and wanted to lay back on the bed but I couldn't. I didn't want to keep my uncle waiting any longer.I had seen the blood stains on the bed and I had felt abashed that I had opened up easily to him. I saw my uncle sitting on one of the couches in the living room. He stood to his feet when he saw me."Uncle," I was glad to see him as I went over to hug him. "Ava," he said, as he held me. We pulled apart and he sniffed me. "You've mated," he added, and I shrugged as I looked away. "Your scent is mixed with his. I can perceive the blood moon scent all over you," he said in disapproval.I wanted to say something, but I heard Skye's voice behind me. "Is that a crime to have the scent of a blood moon?" He asked and I turned to see him walking towards us.He held me when he got closer. "After all, she's my wife," he said, emphasizing on the wife."Alpha," Uncle said in respect.Skye nodded. "Phil," he s

Ava's POV It was unbelievable, but coming from a witch, one should expect different things. I left the girls and saw Fernandez with a hard glare expression on his face sitting outside one of the houses on the blood moons territory. The blood moons had a row of four houses in their zone. The center one was the pack house which belonged to the alpha and he also accommodated a few of the pack in the house. He stood up when he saw me. "Ava," he called my name and I stopped."What do you want to say this time?" I asked him."You don't have to be harsh anytime you want to talk to me, you know?" He said, which got me irritated."Do you think you deserve any word of kindness after what you said to Camila?" I asked him."Are you going to start being hostile to me because of her?" he asked in that downgrading voice of his again."You know what Fernandez? You're sick in the head. You keep blaming others for your own faults. You broke our friendship and here you are now trying to put the blame on

Skye's POV I haven't gone into a deep slumber when I heard movements in the room. I held Ava tight to myself knowing we were not alone. I laid still not wanting to give this invader the impression that I was awake. The invader tiptoed in a light manner, but I could feel the invader's presence. A hand stretched in front of me and I caught it. It was a man's hand. He was holding a knife and was trying to force it into my chest but I held his wrist tightly.I pushed Ava away from me when I couldn't hold his wrist any longer and she jumped up frightened. I rolled over to the other side of the bed and he stabbed the bed. Ava was already off the bed as I struggled with him. He was bent on making me draw my last breath. Ava went behind him and hit him on the head with the lamp stand. He groaned and I was able to subdue him."I know that voice," Ava said going to switch on the light. The incandescent bulb radiated the room with its light and shone on his face. I was surprised by who I s
