Chapter Eleven
Pierce’s Point of ViewLucarius was jumping around in my head all day, excited to go on a long run with our mate. He had already informed me that he had communicated with her wolf and her name was Shilo. I would love to put everything on the back burner and take Jadenne for her first run immediately but unfortunately, there were some rather pressing matters at hand. Before I took Jadenne back to the Half Moon pack to gather her belongings, I wanted some answers from the pathetic swine we were holding. I had linked with Felicity earlier to ask her if she would take Jadenne shopping so that she could get some clothes and I could finally get some answers. Of course, Felicity jumped at the chance to get to know my mate.I hated seeing my beautiful mate put on the torn clothes she had worn that night. Yet another reminder that I had failed to protect her. Walking up behind her, I can’t help but bend over and wrap my arms around her placing my head on top of hers. I don’t think I will ever

Jadenne’s Point of ViewI had forgotten how exhausting shopping could be. Felicity was great and she really got me out of my shell. It did not take her long to realize that I was not fully comfortable with what we were doing and she really helped me along. She had a vibrant and bubbly personality, but she was also confident and gave off a don’t mess with me attitude flawlessly. I instantly liked her, although I was intimidated at first. She was patient with me when we went to the first shop, and I really did not know what to do. For years the only clothes I had had were the ones passed down from Julie, which were full of holes or too small. It didn’t take Felicity any time at all to fill a cart with clothes. Then we headed to the dressing rooms. Felicity made changing into the outfits fun, and we even danced around a bit.“You should smile more, you have a pretty smile.” She told me. We were at the last of the pile of clothing to try on at the second boutique. I wasn’t sure what to sa

Pierce carried me up the stairs and into a room that I had not been in before. I quickly assumed from the scent that it was his actual bedroom. Pierce gently pushed the door shut with his foot. Once the latch clicked, Pierce bent his head down and inhaled deeply, pressing his nose against my collarbone and neck.“I could smell your arousal bunny.” His husky words brought a deep blush to my face, but I could not deny the truth as another wave of heat spread down my body. Pierce captured my lips swiftly with his in a hard, demanding kiss that only fanned the heat flowing through my body. I wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him in deeper and inviting his tongue into my mouth. I moaned into his mouth as his tongue danced with mine. Pierce broke the kiss long enough to move us towards the large bed that was against the wall. He gently put me down on the bed.I kicked my shoes off quickly and started to scoot back on the bed but Pierce stopped my movements. He unbuttoned my jeans and

Chapter Fourteen
Pierce’s Point of View Jadenne asking me about the prisoner brought me back into reality. My heart was heavy knowing that there were a lot of unanswered questions that I needed to ask her, and I felt guilty over not being able to protect her. We didn’t talk as we gathered our clothes and redressed. If her stomach had not grumbled, I would have kept her in bed all day. It is crazy that I never really wanted a mate, but now that I have one, I can’t seem to keep my hands off of her. Once we were clothed, I grabbed her hand and led her down into the large kitchen. Felicity and Emery were both already there.“I had all the bags carried in but Emery said that we should wait for you guys to finish before they were taken upstairs.” I watched a blush flush across Jadenne’s face at Felicity’s words.“Thank you, I will make sure everything is taken care of.” In truth, I had not thought about the fact that Jadenne would share my room now. Everything had happened so fast that I haven’t had a mome

Pierce’s Point of View I followed Emery into my father’s study and saw that he was already waiting for us. He poured drinks for Emery and me. That was my first clue that he had news that he knew I would not take very well. He wasted no time getting to the point.“Let me first congratulate you on finding your fated mate son. Having a mate is a true blessing and I hope that you both find happiness with each other.” Emery and I grabbed our glasses as my father made his toast. “Now, we need to get down to business. Pierce, I understand that you have already questioned the prisoner. Your brother has informed me that, according to the prisoner, Julie was involved in the incident concerning your mate. As Emery has already told you, this raises some serious concerns.” My father placed his glass down on his desk before taking a seat. “We are placed in a rather precarious position. From what I understand, Julie is not only Robert’s daughter but also the mate to the young Alpha Nathan of the Go

Jadenne’s Point of View I hadn’t known who the woman embracing me was until Pierce said mother. This was the Lycan Queen holding me, crying, and apologizing to me. I have no idea why she is telling me that she is sorry, but her embrace is motherly and I am enjoying it. At first I hadn’t returned her embrace because she had taken me by surprise, but I was slightly surprised that my arms had found their own way around her returning the affection. It took a moment before she pulled away, tears still evident on her face.“Sorry if I have scared you child, but I can see her so clearly in your face.” She softly brought her hand up and caressed my cheek. “I am terribly sorry that I did not look after you myself. When your mother died, I had heard that you were taken in by your family and naturally assumed that you would be loved and cherished.”Her words finally dawned on me and I couldn’t

Pierce’s Point of ViewI hated leaving Jadenne. I could feel her confusion and hurt through the mate bond. If I was being honest this whole ordeal has me reeling and completely frustrated. Granted I had never really worried about having a mate before, but now that I do all I want to do is protect her, and yet I seem to be failing miserably.“William their treatment of her must be answered for, I demand it.” My mother was standing in front of my father’s desk with her hands on her hips tapping her foot as if he was a pertinent child she caught in the cookie jar. If the entire statement had not been about my mate, I may have found the situation funny. My father sighed deeply sitting in his chair and putting his hands over his face. “Castine sit down please. I understand that you are upset, but right at the moment we have a few situations that need to be discussed.” He was trying to placate her. My mother listened though and sat down and my father filled her in on the information that Em

Jadenne’s Point of ViewWaiting for Pierce felt like an eternity. Felicity tried to keep me occupied but my mind was still reeling from meeting his mother and learning that she was friends with my mother. I had known that my father had strengthen ties with the royal Lycan family and I remember them visiting once when I was young, but the way the Queen spoke was as if she and my mother were very close. I had so many questions, but I wasn’t even sure if it was appropriate for me to ask.For so long I haven’t been able to speak about my parents. When my Uncle assumed the role of Alpha he did not want to hear about my father. People said that it was grief, but as I got older, I always thought it was jealousy. He didn’t like if soldiers mentioned my father, or even his Beta. I was beaten thoroughly if I brought my parents up, either by my Uncle or Julie. My Uncle had removed their photos, my Aunt had redecorated and arranged the house, and before long it was almost as if my parents hadn’t
