Zena’s POVIt felt like I was losing my mind.Everything had unravelled so quickly that I could barely remember where the plan had gone wrong. One moment, I thought I was in control; the next, everything was chaos. This wasn’t what I had prepared for. An innocent girl wasn’t supposed to suffer because of me. Rana wasn’t supposed to be taken. But she was.And now Ceila had no way of finding me.That thought clawed at my chest until breathing felt heavy. If Ceila couldn’t find me, then she couldn’t save Rana. She couldn’t save any of us.Around me, the room was quiet except for soft breathing and occasional whimpers. The other girls lay scattered across the floor, wrapped in exhaustion. Some slept restlessly, their brows pinched in fear even in their dreams. Others stared blankly into the darkness, too tired to cry anymore.Sleep refused to come to me.My mind kept racing, jumping from one impossible idea to another. Escape routes. Weak points. Chances. Leo’s POV“Do I hear twenty for this ravishing beauty?” the auctioneer called.Silence followed.“Ten thousand, going once… going twice…”That was my bid.The gavel hovered, seconds from sealing my win, when a voice cut through the room.“Twenty thousand.”I turned sharply. Hugo. The smug bastard leaned back in his chair like this was a game.“Do I hear twenty-five?” the auctioneer asked, excitement rising.Heat crawled up my neck. I was in a car.I tried to piece together what had happened, but my thoughts were slippery, fragmented. Leonardo. I had seen Leonardo again. That much I knew.I attempted to shift in my seat and immediately regretted it. A sharp pain exploded through my skull and drove me back against the headrest. I pressed my eyes shut, breathing through it.This is bad. When I tried to move again, I felt the resistance. My wrists were bound.Adrenaline hit me like cold water."What the hell is going on?" I snapped, jerking upright despite the pain. "Where are you taking me?"One of the two figures in the front seat turned around. Leonardo.A traitorous flicker of relief moved through my chest before I shut it down. Relief was the last thing I should be feeling right now. I had a mission. A carefully constructed, months-in-the-making mission, and he was unravelling it thread by thread
