Daniel rolled in his sheets and was enjoying the sunlight on his face. He had a good night's rest. He opened his eyes and turned to his right side and saw the bed empty. She was gone. He sighed deeply and felt the sheets where she laid and could still perceive her sweet-smelling perfume on the bed. It was still warm and could still feel her presence in the room. It had been a long time since he felt this good and relaxed in the morning. He knew when she woke up and snuck out of his room without telling him. The popular walk of shame!!!! He felt it too which was why he acted as if he was still sleeping while she was busy escaping. He heard her hail a taxi to the bar so she could pick up her car. They all sat down with their legs crossed and in a circle. They held their hands as they chanted together without pausing. They were deep inside the woods so they did not have to worry about anyone passing through in the dead of the night. The only sound you could hear wear their chants and the birds chirping. The leader of the group stood in the middle. She was in her early forties. She stood in the circle with her long black robe with thorns on it. There was a crown of daffodils flowers on her head and she stood in the circle holding a white lamp which was tied by the legs. She slaughtered the lamb at the neck as they chanted aloud. She took a calabash and allowed the blood from the lamb to pour inside. She inhaled deeply and dipped her finger inside the blood and put it in her mouth.

Samantha hurried towards her car after the meeting was over. There was something going on in the town and everyone was informed to be security conscious. The mayor had told them to tighten security and people shouldn't be out at night. She wasn't too worried because what exactly could happen in a small town?She scoffed and walked into her car. She was trying to leave so Danny wouldn't see her. After the meeting, he had walked up to the mayor and she saw it as her chance to bolt and took it. She turned the key to ignite the engine of the car and there was no sound. The car engine didn't come up. “What the fuck?!”, she exclaimed. She tried it again but nothing. It made a funny sound and stopped. She ran her hand through her hair. She looked at her fuel tank indicator and saw that it was low.“Way to go Samantha!!” She said to herself. She totally forgot to fill her tank and now she was stranded. She'll have to call a cab or hitch a ride. This was so much inconvenience for one day. She
