Kaya The lady who I'd come to know as Nora led me into the house, walking ahead of me, giving me time to take in the sight in front of me. Right from the moment I stepped into the house, my mouth had fallen open. This wasn’t a house, it was a palace. It was purely magical, like a place right out of a fairytale. The ceiling was far above us, giving the large chandelier enough space to shine. The ground floor was big, big enough to accommodate the large steps in the middle of it. There weren’t any couches but there were vases and ancient decorations. All these looked very expensive.I’ve never seen any place like this before in the Wolf Kingdom, it’s no wonder they were trying earnestly to take over their kingdom. ‘C’mon. Your room is upstairs.” I looked back at Nora and nodded slightly. “My name is Nora, I’m Adrian’s Beta. I also train the military. I hope we can be friends.” My mouth almost dropped. The Beta wanted to be friends with me…a slave? The fact that she was a Beta was

KayaI sat on the floor in utter confusion at Adrian's actions. I rubbed my aching elbow that had broken my fall and prevented me from hitting my face on the floor when he pushed me. ‘What the hell do you think you’re doing to my son?” He was hiding the boy away from me like I had done something wrong. “What do you mean? I wasn’t doing anything, I-” ‘Save it! I knew it was a mistake bringing you here. How dare you touch him?” What was he talking about? I wasn't even doing anything. I was only trying to help. He probably thought I was trying to hurt him. I wanted to explain to him what actually happened but he turned away from me and faced his son who had placed his head on his father’s shoulder. ‘Are you okay? Did she hurt you? Milo?”Milo didn’t say anything but he looked at me with tears in his eyes then looked back at his father. Even though I knew I didn't do anything to him, I couldn’t help but feel scared at what he was going to say.I hadn’t been here for up to half a day

Kaya I watched others spar before us and I had to say. Most of these girls didn't look as strong as they were. The way they easily threw each other on the ground made me wonder if the women were like this, how would the men be? It finally got to my turn with Naya. Her eyes were on me like a hunter waiting to kill a prey. She looked confident that she would crush me just like that girl said. “You would regret embarrassing me this morning.”I wasn't even the one who had said anything to her. I had simply wanted to introduce myself and she took the opportunity to introduce me as a wet dog to everyone. Why didn't she take her anger out on Allister? Nora was right. I was no longer in Red Moon where I had to ensure every treatment. Now, I had to fight for myself or else, I would be treated like trash. Whether she was the former Beta's sister or the Beta himself, I had to stand up for myself. I know I had made an enemy and there was only one way to fight an enemy. “I did nothing to

ADRIAN “Hey, little man. What do you need?” I picked him from the floor, bringing him up to eye level. He looked around for a moment, obviously looking for what to use to tell me what he wanted. He hadn't fully learnt sign language so it was still hard for him to communicate with it. He kicked the air, indicating a ball. “You want a ball?”He shook his head then touched my chest, touched his then kicked the air again. “You want us to play ball?"He nodded, happy that I finally understood him. Damn, I'd forgotten it was the weekend already. That was the time I got to spend with Milo. ”I’m so sorry I forgot about you. I had so much work.”He frowned a bit and rubbed my nose, something he always did when he wasn't happy with me. “I apologized.” I tickled him, making him laugh. I'd forgotten that there was someone in the room until I saw movement out of the corner of my eye. Kaya had a wide smile on her face but it wasn't directed at me. Her eyes were focused on Milo. I felt ve

KAYAWhy did I have to open my big mouth and talk about her? I wanted to confirm that she was just as forbidden as Belle said she was. Well, with the very deep scowl on Adrian's face, I was sure of it. ”I’m sorry-”“He’s not my son."“Sorry?”He relaxed his shoulders. “Milo is Asher’s son. When Asher died, Milo couldn't bear it so he fell ill and his mother left because she didn't want to have to take care of him. So I had to take him in. I couldn't send him away. Asher was my brother.”I could hear the pain in his voice and it broke me. He really wasn't the man I thought he was. He took me in, then he took Naya in because she was Asher’s sister and now, Milo. Adrian had basically claimed responsibility for him for the rest of his life. I was sure he and Asher were the best of friends because for Adrian to do this for him, there had to be a deep bond. “You must have really loved Asher.”He laughed, but it was painful. “A part of me died the day he died. No one can ever replace
