KAYLA POV The car left the company's parking lot, focusing its aim on the highway. Throughout the journey, he was busy on his tablet working on something. For me, I had the pleasure of looking through the window to see the night-life of New York City. In no time, I saw myself at the entrance of Value Hotels. Verification was done, and we were approved to go in. According to records, the verification process was necessary to avoid the acceptance of illegal and armed people. The hotel is known for hosting powerful and influential personalities from the city and beyond. Because of that, different situations of violent actions were seen, and it was a step to prevent that. The car alighted in the parking lot where Lucas and I stepped down. "Let's have dinner, shall we?" Lucas said in the form of a request. "Sure!" I said, smiling but feeling confused at some point. My former boss I worked for was a man with a strict business personality. After work at the office, he's

LUCAS POV When she was talking about her mom, I felt suppressed anger and emotions trying to spring up. After she ended the conversation and moved out, I couldn't understand myself again. She is just a sweet and jovial girl on the outside, but it's the opposite on the inside. "She has passed through a lot, but it's silent on the outside", I thought to myself. While lost in thought, my alarm rang that it was time to prepare for the office. I stood up and I alerted my office butler. While being sure that everything was in order, I moved into the bathroom and took a quick bath. While in the shower, I remembered yesterday's activities here. I was trying to understand if her sexual drive was influenced by her mother's non-challenging attitude or her father's death. I tried to take my mind off that to complete my preparation process. A knock was heard on my door and I knew the delivery man was there. I had to order my clothes from my preferred boutique. The Italian suit fit

HUNTER POV My eyes slowly adjusted to the interior of my bedroom. I literally made it to the personal museum where I can access my history. I looked satisfied when I saw a family portrait where I stood with my parents and younger sister. I feel assured when I realize they are living safely in Brooklyn. My family was a middle class which I can boost that they are well off and can provide the basic needs of the family without breakage. I am out here in New York to start a life on my own. My eyes rolled over and caught the attention of a portrait of me and Kayla. If I can remember vividly, the picture was taken at the anniversary of our company. We stood there posing as a couple but we were friends in reality. "Why can't I make the idea of being a couple into reality?" A question struck my mind as I deeply pondered about this. It can't happen without my moves. Then today must be that day I'll do it. After responding to my messages as my job stipulates, I entered my bathr

KAYLA POV All things dawn on me as I saw my friendship between Hunter drifting away. But my bond with Lucas got stronger as the day moved on. I wondered why I got this messy relationship and I realized that my sexual lust towards Lucas drove me to this relationship. From Lucas's words when I first attempted an affair with me "Be careful, I am very possessive". I didn't understand at first but I came to understand the situation. At this point, I'm totally lost in my world and the universe at large. I couldn't stop admiring Lucas but can't let the friendship between Hunter scatter in such a bad way. This made me so vulnerable and controllable. I had no choice than to continue with my work. From Hunter's file, the report was based on the new onboarding of the company. "New recruits, indeed", I said to myself. The day slowly moves to dusk where employees and colleagues of Benta's & Co sign their exit. Despite this, the CEO wasn't out of his office, so I had to wait for him. A

KAYLA POV After Lucas finished his story, I felt sorry for him. I wanted to ask more but I realized that his mood won’t contain such questions. I had to excuse him which he nodded. Coming back to my office, I was a bit puzzled about the personality and relationship of Lucas. His aura camouflaged a bitter story of his life. Even with that, he posed to be alright when there is something really bothering him. Since a contract is secured and signed in the company, I had to inform different department for execution. I knew it wasn’t an easy job but I had to make sure that everything goes well. Since I was a bit busy, I didn’t realize that a familiar figure had slipped into my office. “I don’t know why the sudden change you exhibit but I beg that it shouldn’t soil our friendship”, a familiar voice which happens to be Hunter was heard while making his way to my desk. “Hunter, I don’t understand you”, I asked while surprised for once. “You have been giving me a cold shoulder
