Out of curiosity, I stepped out to see where it was going to. My feet carried me through the sidewalks and then behind a corner. Close enough to see what was going on and not being seen at the same time. I ducked behind the shadows of a fence post and there it was. Red and blue lights flashing around Robs house. Did something happen to him?First a woman walked in and out of the house, like she was directing the paramedics on where to go after which a stretcher pulled out from the doors towards the ambulance, jenna was on it, with hands clutched on her belly. CHAPTER 58JENNA’S POVBy the time I’d gotten home, it was unusually quite so I figured the baby had already fallen asleep. Rob and I never got to think of a name, but the name Arden had always stuck with me. Cassy was here too. She had stopped by Adrian’s place to watch the baby while I was out and was now flipping through a magazine. It didn’t take too long to notice my presence, but she didn’t say anything. CHAPTER 60JENNA’S POVWhile I was still wallowing in my previous thoughts Cassy walked back into the kitchen. “A letter for you.” She said, handing down the brown envelope. I ripped the seal carefully and pulled out a piece of paper. It was a notice. A custody hearing schedule. My breath left me immediately. “What is it?” Cassy questioned curiously. “I’m not the only one filing for custody.”“What?” She exclaimed, snatching away the paper. “And they’ve scheduled a hearing.” I added. I never imagined it would ever come to this but then it did. ROB’S POVI’d been in several meetings, boardrooms filled with investors where one wrong move could tank million.
