The Shipment

Nadia's POV Noah came to my room as the sun was setting. His face was serious. His eyes were dark like as if he had a lot running through his mind and he was trying to get it all out. "Come with me," he said. "It is time you saw the real work we do. there's something to be done tonight.” I followed him through the castle, then outside till we got to the forest, he did the usual routine of cutting his hands which healed immediately before we went down the hidden stairs to the big room under the forest. The room where they made weapons. But tonight was different. The forges were still hot. But now there were new men there. Tough-looking men with scars and hard eyes. They were putting weapons into wooden boxes. They were loading the boxes onto carts with quiet efficiency. "These are the smugglers," Noah told me quietly. "They take our weapons to the people who buy them. They k

The Bloodied River

Nadia's POVThe world became noise and fear all around me. It happened so fast. One moment we were walking quietly through the dark forest. The next moment, all hell broke loose.Men shouted and screamed all around me. The sounds were so loud they hurt my ears. Swords hit each other with loud clanging noises that echoed in the night. I heard terrible cries of pain that made my stomach feel sick.Neal immediately pushed me behind him, his body becoming a shield for me. "Stay down, Valerie!" he yelled over the noise. "Don't stand up! Stay low to the ground!"I crouched as low as I could to the dirty ground. My heart was beating so fast and hard I thought it would jump right out of my chest. I could barely breathe properly. Neal was fighting a big man who had a nasty scar across his face. Their knives flashed and danced in the dark night, catching what little light there was. Then something strange started happening to me. Through all the noise and fear and confusion, I felt the familiar

Who Is That Man

Nadia's POVThe next morning. The sun was rising when Noah came to my room. He did not come alone. Two big guards stood behind him."From today, things change," Noah said. His voice was hard. "We have a traitor in our pack. Someone who knows our secrets. Someone who could be watching you."I looked at him, confused. I picked up my notepad. What do you mean?"For your safety, you will stay in your rooms," he said. "You will not leave. Jessica will bring your food. You will not see anyone unless I say so."My heart dropped. He was locking me up.I am not a prisoner, I wrote, my hand shaking."Everyone is a prisoner until I find the traitor," Noah said. "This is for your own protection."He turned and left. The guards stayed outside my door. I heard the lock turn. I was trapped. Not long after, I heard shouting in the hall."This is crazy, Noah!" It was Neal's voice. "You cannot lock her in her room!""I can, and I did," Noah's voice was cold. "It is for her safety.""Safety?" Neal yelle

The Silent War

Nadia's POVI sat in my room for two days after the vision. That terrible vision of Sarah with that man. I could still see it in my mind. Sarah's torn clothes. The bruises on her skin. The way the man walked away from her. And the look on her face after he left.Who was that man? Why did she let him treat her that way? And why did she want to hurt Noah so much? I didn't understand any of it.I couldn't tell Noah about this. I couldn't tell Neal either. This was something I had to figure out myself.Sarah thought I was her friend. She thought I would help her destroy Noah. But I knew the truth now. She wanted to use me. She wanted to take everything from Noah.I had to be very smart. I had to be very careful. I decided to play a dangerous game. I would pretend to help Sarah. But I would really be learning about her plans. I needed to know who that man was. I needed to know why she was doing this. When Sarah came to visit me again, I was ready."How are you today, Luna?" she asked. She

The Weight of a Name

Nadia's POVSarah stood over me, waiting. Her smile was sweet like honey, but her eyes were cold like ice. "Who is next, Luna?" she asked again. My hand shook as I held the pencil. I had to write a name. But I could not think of anyone. I did not want anyone else to get hurt because of me. Finally, I wrote a name on the paper. Beta James. This was another test. Beta James was Noah's second-in-command. He was very strong. He had many guards around him always. Maybe Sarah's friends could not hurt him. Maybe he would be safe.Sarah read the name. Her smile grew wider. "Beta James? This is a big name. Thank you, Luna. This helps very much."She stood up to leave. "I will see you soon. Rest well."The door closed behind her. The lock turned. I was alone again.I put my head in my hands. What had I done? First Kael, now James. I was giving names to a dangerous woman. I felt sick inside.Later that day, I heard shouting in the hallway. Both Alpha voices, both strong, both angry."Who did th

The Fiery agony

Nadia's POVThe sun rose slowly outside my window. Another day in my golden cage. Today I had a plan, a dangerous one, but I had to try. I needed to know who Sarah's mystery man was. My stomach felt tight with nerves as I waited for her visit.Right on time, I heard the lock click. Sarah swept in with her usual fake smile plastered on her face. "Good morning, Luna. I hope you've been thinking about our little project. Do you have ay important information to give me today?.”I shook my head, reaching for my notepad with careful slowness. Not yet, I wrote. But first, I need to know , has anything happened to Beta James?Sarah's smile didn't even break"Beta James? Why would anything happen to him? He's perfectly fine."I was worried, I scribbled quickly. After what happened to Captain Kael...She waved a dismissive hand. "Kael had a unfortunate accident, that's all. These things happen. But James? I saw him not an hour ago, training with the new guards. He looked as strong and healthy as

The Healing Touch

Nadia's POVI woke up burning.Every part of my body was on fire. My skin felt too hot. My blood felt like it was boiling. Even my bones hurt. I made a small sound without meaning to."Valerie? Can you hear me?"It was Neal's voice. I opened my eyes slowly. The room looked blurry at first. I was in my bed. My clothes were wet with sweat. Neal sat next to me. He looked very worried. The pack healer stood nearby. She was mixing something in a small bowl."I cannot break this fever," the healer said. She sounded upset. "I have tried all my medicines. This is not a normal sickness. Her body is too hot, but there is no infection."My hand shook as I reached for my notepad. Neal saw me and put it on my lap. When his fingers touched mine, I felt even hotter. Please, I wrote. The letters looked messy because my hand was shaking. I need the healer to leave.Neal looked surprised. "Valerie, she is trying to help you feel better. She knows about sickness."I shook my head. It hurt to move. I wro

The Demon's Cage

Noah's POVValerie’s body went limp. Her eyes closed. She fainted again. My heart froze. "Valerie!"Neal moved fast. He caught her before she hit the floor. "What did you do?" he yelled at me, his voice tight with fear. "Your yelling! Your anger! You did this!""She was awake when I came in!" I shouted back, my own panic making me cruel. "She was with you!""With me?" Neal’s laugh was sharp. He laid her gently on the bed, his hands shaking. "She was begging! For help from pain you ignore!" He grabbed the notepad from the table and shoved it at me. "Read it! Read what your wife needed!"I looked down. The writing was messy and wild.Please. Just do something. Kiss me. Touch me. Anything. Please make it stop. The words cut deep. She was in so much pain she was pleading for any comfort. And she was pleading with him.HE TOUCHES WHAT IS OURS, a dark voice were angry in my mind. HE COMFORTS WHAT WE SHOULD CLAIM."Get out," I snarled at Neal, the words heavy with a threat he couldn’t unders

Call my name

Nadia's POVI woke feeling clean and new. The fire in my blood was gone. My head was clear. I sat up in bed, testing my arms and legs. No pain. No weakness. It was like last night's sickness never happened. Then I remembered. Neal's hands on my skin. His voice in my ear. His touch had healed me. The vision was right, only my mate could stop the pain. The door opened and Jessica came in with breakfast. Her face lit up when she saw me."Oh dear Luna Valerie! You look so much better!" She put the tray on my lap. "The healer said you were very sick last night. But you look perfect now!"I began to eat the warm porridge and bread. Jessica cleaned the room while she talked."It's so strange," she said. "First remember that time your hand won't heal, now this fever. Both times, you get better on your own. The healer doesn't understand it."I kept eating, saying nothing."She told Alpha Noah and Alpha Neal it makes no sense," Jessica continued. "Sickness that comes and goes like that. Honestl

The Demon's Bargain

Noah's POVThe silence between Valerie and me was so obvious. We walked side-by-side through the bustling market, but my whole world had narrowed to the space where my hand had just touched the small of her back. Where my lips had touched her and From sucking her petite breasts. A faint, hot tingle still danced across my body.Good, the demon purred, its voice a sound in the back of my skull. She feels our claim. She will not forget it."I am not trying to make her afraid of me," I argued back in my mind, keeping my face a mask of calm as a merchant shouted about his fresh apples. The sweet smell of them turned sour in my nose.Liar, the demon hissed, You want her to tremble. You want her to know, deep in her bones, that she belongs to us. To you. To me. We are the same.My jaw tightened so hard it ached. The demon was right, and the truth of it shamed me. When I had pressed her against that wall, a wild, possessive part of me had wanted to mark her right there, in the dirty alley. To
