Alpha Bran’s POVOne hundred and fifty-six missed calls. Fifty messages. All from Saskia.I stared at the screen, certain my eyes were playing tricks on me. I locked my phone and unlocked it again. The unread messages were still there. The missed calls were still there. I tapped at the first message icon:I’m sorry, Bran. I didn’t mean what I said. Please, come back home.I tapped at the second:I was selfish. I know you’re under pressure.I shouldn’t have taken my anger out on you. I'm sorry. And then at the third:I love you, Bran. I’m sorry. I'm so sorry. The other forty-seven messages all said almost the same thing. My eyes weren't playing tricks on me. Saskia really texted me fifty times. And called me a hundred and fifty six times. All to apologise. This was very unusual of her. I exhaled and leaned back in my chair, phone still in my hand. To say I was shocked wasn't enough. I didn’t know how to feel. Then it came to my mind that I had said I would announce our wedding to th

Serafine’s POV I woke up to the light feel of my body. And that wasn't all. The pain in my chest was also gone. Slowly, I pressed my palm against my chest, testing it. There was no tightness. No hitching pain. I pushed myself up gently, half expecting dizziness to follow. To my surprise, it didn’t. My head turned to the side where Grayson was seated. The chair was empty. He must have gone home after I fell asleep. A strange warmth filled my chest at the memory of last night. Faint smile tugged at my lips. It had been a while since I laughed like I did last night. My gaze shifted toward the corner of the room. Hope was still there. She was fast asleep, her back against the wall. Her head tilted slightly to the side, her brown hair falling smoothly over one shoulder. It was the first time I took notice of her facial features. She was a very gorgeous woman with high cheekbones, long lashes, and a full lips even in sleep. She was a petite woman. But fierce in character. Wh

Alpha Bran’s POVThe moment we stepped into the parking lot, I pulled Saskia in front of me.“Have you lost your mind?” I asked under my breath. “You made a scene in there.”Her eyes were still wild. Strands of Serafine’s hair still clung to her fingers. She didn’t even seem to notice.“You’re worried about the scene I caused?” she shot back. “You should be worried about the rumor spreading like wildfire!”My jaw tightened. A few pack members had followed us outside. They weren’t close enough to hear everything but they were watching. I lowered my voice. “Control yourself.”“Control myself? When you still care about her? You’re unbelievable, Bran! Even after people are saying she’s your mate you still doing this!”I opened the passenger door of my car. “Get in.”She folded her arms. “No.”“Saskia.”“No,” she repeated. I was running out of patience. I pushed her inside and shut the door before she could resist further. I walked around the car, got in, and locked the doors before she

Alpha Bran’s POVRyker could not stay still. The moment the doctor mentioned Serafine, he surged forward inside me.I drove at high speed until the hospital building came into view. And barely waited for the vehicle to come to a full stop before stepping out.Without thinking, I went straight to Serafine’s ward. Bane and Lupin bowed their heads in respect as I pushed the door open. Serafine laid on her bed, her hands buried in her hair.Just seeing her snapped something inside me. I couldn't hold back. I closed the distance between us in seconds and pulled her into my arms. My eyelids snapped shut as i inhaled her strawberry scent. Only then did the storm inside me settle. But the calm didn't last as Serafine screamed the next second. Pushing me away with all of her strength.“What are you doing?!”I staggered back. My hands dropping by my sides. Her eyes were filled with tears. That was when I realized what I had done.“What do you want from me?” she cried. “Have you not done enough

Alpha Bran’s POVEven though we had suspected it. Even though the signs had been there…I didn’t believe it. Not until I saw the silver bracelet tear into her skin like acid. I stared at the screen, shock rooting me to the spot.Serafine was a wolf!My mate was a wolf. But that made no sense. The first day I saw her at the casino. The day I bought her from the auction. She didn’t smell like a wolf. There was nothing about her that I could relate to a wolf. Even now, thinking about her scent. I had never once detected the wild undercurrent that every wolf carried. So how? Just how did she suddenly become one?“She didn’t,” Ryker said quietly inside me.My jaw tightened. “What?”“She didn’t suddenly become a wolf. She has been one from the beginning.”My eyes remained locked on the screen as the doctor and nurse scrambled around her. Hope hovered nearby, panic written all over her face.“Then why didn’t I sense her? “Why didn’t you?” I asked. There was a pause. And then Ryker said, “I
