THE GALA ~GISELLE POV~ "If you don't stop staring at my ass, we're going to be late." Alessandro didn't even pretend to look away. He was leaning against the doorframe of the closet, arms crossed, watching me struggle into the dress he'd picked out. "I'm admiring my investment," he said. "Your investment is about to elbow you in the throat if you don't help me zip this thing." He pushed off the doorframe. Walked over slowly. Like a predator who knew his prey couldn't escape. His fingers found the zipper at the small of my back. But he didn't pull it up. He traced the line of my spine instead. Slow. Deliberate. I shivered. "Problem?" His breath was hot against my neck. "Yeah. You're being creepy." "I'm being appreciative. There's a difference." He finally zipped the dress. All the way up. Then he pressed a kiss to the spot where my neck met my shoulder. "You're going to cause a riot tonight." "That's the plan, right? Show up. Look pretty. Make men stupid." "No

THE REQUEST ~GISELLE POV~ I was trying to read. Key word: ‘trying.’ But my brain wouldn't cooperate. It kept replaying last night. Alessandro's hands. His mouth. The way he touched me like he was memorizing every inch of my skin. And then he stopped. Just stopped. Left me aching and furious and confused. "Say you want me." I couldn't, hell I wouldn't. My body screamed yes but my brain kept flashing images. The explosion. My parents burning. His watch. That calm, summed-up look on his face. How could I want someone who might have killed them? But I did want him. That was the problem. My body was a traitor. It didn't care about reasoning or justice or the fact that Alessandro Romano was a literal murderer. It just knew that when he touched me, everything else disappeared. I shifted on the pool lounge chair. The bikini felt too tight. Everything felt too tight. When was the last time I even had sex? College. Second year. Patrick from Economics. Patrick with his flopp

THE COFFEE SHOP 2 ~GISELLE POV~ I pulled up to the café fifteen minutes later. Almost hit a guy crossing the street. "Sorry!" I called out the window. Turned off the engine. Checked my makeup in the mirror. Fixed my ponytail. My hands were still shaking. From the drive. From the adrenaline. From the fact that Alessandro was probably watching me through some tracker he'd hidden in the car. Perfect. Behind me, a black sedan screeched to a stop. Rocco and Dante practically fell out. Both of them looked like they'd aged five years. "Miss Romano," Rocco panted. "Please don't do that again." "You guys are too slow." "We could lose our jobs," Dante said. His face was pale. "The Boss will kill us if something happens to you." "Nothing happened. I'm fine." I locked the Ferrari. Pocketed the keys. "Now come on. I'm late." I walked into the café. Every head turned. I was used to it. The stares. The whispers. The way men looked at me like I was something they wanted but cou

THE COFFEE SHOP 4 ~GISELLE POV~ Alessandro turned back to me. His eyes were still empty. Still cold. Like whatever humanity he'd been clinging to had finally snapped. "We're leaving." "I'm not going anywhere with you." "Yes." He grabbed my wrist. His grip was iron. "You are." He started pulling me toward the door. "You're insane!" I shouted. Tried to dig my heels in. It didn't matter. He was too strong. "You almost cut off his hand!" "I should have." He shoved open the door. Dragged me to the Ferrari. "I should have done worse." "Let go of me!" "Get in the car, Giselle." "No." He picked me up. Actually picked me up like I weighed nothing. Put me in the passenger seat. Buckled me in. I tried to unbuckle. He caught my hands. Held them. "Don't." His voice was deadly quiet. "Don't test me right now." Then he walked around. Got in the driver's seat. Started the engine. We drove in silence. Fast. Too fast. The city blurred past. When we pulled up to the estate, he k

THE PUNISHMENT ~GISELLE POV~ Day three of hell. Three days since the Leo incident. Three days since Alessandro decided that his "punishment" wasn't going to be violence or yelling or even locking me in our room. No. His punishment was worse. He wouldn't leave me alone. Not for a single second. I woke up, he was there. In the armchair by the bed. Already dressed. Already watching me with those blue, unreadable eyes. I went to the library, he followed. Sat across from me. Didn't read. Just watched. I tried to take a bath, he stood outside the door. I could see his shadow under the crack. Could hear him breathing. It was driving me insane. And the worst part? He wasn't even doing anything. He was just... there. A constant, suffocating presence that I couldn't escape. This morning, I decided to change tactics. If being rebellious wasn't working, maybe being the opposite would. I got up. Stretched. Made sure the silk nightgown I was wearing rode up my thighs. Alessandr
