Selene’s POV The room felt unbearably quiet. The phone lay beside me on the bed as if I had not just heard my mate make love to another. That was all it took to shatter the tiniest bit of hope I had been holding on to. I sat there for the longest time, unable to move. No tears and the deep feeling of hurt I was expecting never came rushing in. All I felt was rage, rage of being played for a fool for years. Leo’s POV I returned home the next morning completely exhausted and already running behind schedule. The pack banquet was scheduled to begin before noon and Selene and I were expected to arrive together as Alpha and Luna. The banquet was to celebrate the indoctrination of young wolves into warriors. My insides had churned with excitement all through the night, but that didn’t last for long because the next morning, I was surrounded by some of the council members on getting to my office.
