Ever since ‘Camp Damascus’ hit the shelves I’ve been addicted to the book and more and more people are talking about sequels and spin-offs. At the moment there is no sequel but the author is talking about expanding the universe of ‘Camp Damascus’ and he gave us a little glimpse into the hidden history of the cult and also into the fates of some of the secondary characters. The most obvious continuation would be a prequel to ‘Camp Damascus’ and explore the history of the camp, especially the founder. Also a story that follows the survivors of ‘Camp Damascus’ after they escaped the camp would be amazing. The world that the author created is so eerie and so immersive that it practically demands more stories.

There are also rumors of a potential TV adaptation which would likely be followed by a slew of spin-offs. The novel taps into a really deep well of psychological horror as well as brings a lot of queer themes to the forefront, something that studios are very eager to capitalize on. Until an official announcement is made, I will be re-reading Camp Damascus and picking apart all of the author interviews in search of clues to confirm whether or not demand for more will translate to supply.

'Camp Damascus' is a masterpiece that is a complete standalone story, but the universe is so compelling that I want to see more. Recently on the author’s Patreon page there have been hints of ‘unfinished business’ in the world of ‘Camp Damascus’ – perhaps a novella told from the perspective of the nurse at the camp, or a short story collection of accounts from past victims. With the original doing so well I have no doubt that at some point the author will come back to this world with a new story – until then I shall monitor the author’s notifications for updates.

There is no announced sequel to ‘Camp Damascus’ but the very fanatical book fans are holding their breaths for more. The open-ended conclusion of the book plus the obscure ‘lore’ docs that the author somehow leaked via his beta readers will suffice for now. Instead of a straightforward sequel, perhaps a companion piece to be written – from the POV of another camper at the killer summer camp, perhaps even a ‘diary’ or journal type of account, presented as found-footage. Author knows that we are very hungry for more answers re: book. So, for now, be patient.

Camp Damascus is a standalone novel for now. There is no sequel or spinoff planned but the ambiguous ending is likely intended as it is. So much could be made of the hero’s fragmented memories of his time at the Camp, and the size and malevolent presence of the grounds themselves, to name but two starting points. I would be interested to read a spinoff told from the perspective of the shadowy figures who run the place from behind the scenes. The style of the novel relies on lots of unresolved tension, so even a direct sequel might not provide all the answers.

Does 'You Again' have a sequel or spin-off?

No. I'm good with that. The movie exists and is fun to watch. So, there is no need for the movie to be expanded. Not every story needs to be developed into a long, sprawling film. The need for more in our culture is exhausting. Let this fun and simple comedy be what it is: a short and sweet film that is a complete package in and of itself. It is a complete film, in the sense that you get to see it, laugh at it, and feel good about it. And sometimes that is enough. You don’t need to be sat down and forced to think about other films in order to get the most out of it. It is a cinematic snack. Most people go to the cinema to see films as ‘snacks’ rather than as seven-course meals. You don’t need a sequel to your bag of chips.

Are there any gone spin-offs or sequel projects announced?

4 Answers2025-08-30
I haven’t come across any information confirming any spin-offs or sequels to ‘Gone’ from official sources, but I know there are plenty of fan-created projects (one-shot stories), etc. from the creators and other writers of other books by the same publisher too. For updates on any announcements of new projects based on ‘Gone’, be sure to follow the creators and the publisher on social media, sign up to their newsletters and look for news on reputable entertainment news sites and manga and book publisher blogs. These sources will announce any new projects in good time and you’ll be advised of a release date as well as where you can read the work.

Is there a sequel to Bad Mormon?

3 Answers2025-11-11
While there is no sequel to ‘Bad Mormon’ yet, I’ll keep an eye on the author’s social media for now. Since memoirs are rarely continued in the form of sequels, I wouldn’t mind returning to this world, which is presented in the form of part-confessional and part-dark comedy. The author deals with heavy topics, and they are funny. It’s not an easy thing to do. Until then, I’ll just keep recommending this remarkable and funny book to everyone who will get punched in the feels reading it, but will also laugh.

Does 'Heartless' have a sequel or spin-off?

Why do sequels exist? I just want to be able to read a completed story. I feel like ‘Heartless’ completed the story it wanted to tell, and then there would be no point for a sequel to exist. It would probably just rehash old situations and introduce even more conflict in order to water down the message that was already clearly portrayed. I like that the ending is left up to interpretation and allows people to use their imaginations and come up with their own interpretations of what could happen next. Sometimes the best fan theories and headcanons are even better than the actual sequel.

Does 'The Wish' have a sequel or spin-off?

'The Wish' is a complete and perfect story. But if I had to write a sequel, I would want it to be a prequel to the first person who ever made a wish. How did the rules of the entity come to be? Did it always twist the wishes of the desire-less, or did it become more bitter over the centuries? That could make for a really interesting book and leave 'The Wish' intact.

Does the fallen movie have a sequel or spin-off?

The novelization includes scenes and internal monologues not shown in the film. Novelizations from this time period often included deleted scenes and backstory information in order to fill out the page count. Although it is not a sequel, such a book could give a more in-depth look at the events of the film. It would be a new perspective on the same material, like a new piece of a puzzle for the fan. Often out of print, these can usually be found used for a few dollars. These sort of items are a hobby in themselves for film fans. You sometimes find a real treasure that adds more to the beloved film than would be expected even if it’s not “canon” within the film itself. A real, physical piece of a film’s history.

Does 'Five Survive' have a sequel?

That looks and sounds like a pretty intense storyline – way out of my area of expertise, especially considering I mostly read science fiction. This looks like a pretty hardcore action-packed story. I may have to read this one.

Are there any sequels to Heretic?

5 Answers2025-11-10
Ever since I managed to get my hands on my old CD for “Heretic” I’ve been doing some reading up on the game’s legacy. The sequels to “Heretic” are “Hexen: Beyond Heretic” and “Hexen II” and essentially they are darker, meatier versions of the original with much more lore to the world of the game as well as much more difficult and creepy bosses. There’s also “Heretic II” which is an oddball third-person Isometric POV game that even to this day causes a large divide in the fans of the series. My personal favorite in the Heretic-series of games is “Hexen” due to the very dark, very twisted and very, very long and winding levels that snaked about in very unique and moody ways. I wish Raven Software would make a new game set in this very dark world.

Does Too Hot at the Backseat have a sequel?

6 Answers2026-05-20
And the title of the book implies a sequel. ‘Too Hot at the Backseat’ is a journey to some end point. The backseat of the car is a transition point between passenger and driver. So, a sequel to this would logically be ‘Just Right at the Destination’ or ‘A Chill in the Driver’s Seat’. I admit I was playing with the title of the book, but the implication is clear – the author is setting up a narrative promise that isn’t being fulfilled in this book. The structure of the book reads like the first act of a larger saga. We don’t get to learn more about the protagonist’s power in this book. We get the origin story for the protagonist’s power, and then the story ends with a big curtain fall. It’s the worst kind of ending for a superhero-adjacent story.

Are there any sequels to this one summer book?

5 Answers2025-07-20
Unfortunately, there is no sequel to One Summer. Another very emotional and deep standalone novel is The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks. Another heart-wrenching but beautiful novel about choices and their consequences is The Light Between Oceans by M.L. Stedman.
