What Is The Correct Reading Order For My Werewolf System Light Novel?
Getting into the Werewolf System series, but my ebook library is a mess. Does the plot chronology follow the publication timeline, or are there any side stories to slot in?
Can we take a second to appreciate that it's just called 'My Werewolf System'? No subtitle nonsense for each volume (mostly). It's Volume 1, Volume 2. The simplicity is beautiful. The order is embedded in the title. Let's not overcomplicate a good thing.
Some series get cute with titles and you have to google which comes first. Not here. It's as straightforward as it gets. This is the series you recommend to someone who wants an easy entry into light novels without a ton of homework. The barrier to entry is wonderfully low.

I'm skeptical of any reading order that insists on including non-essential content. It feels like gatekeeping—'if you haven't read this obscure Patreon sidestory, you don't truly understand the character'. The main story should stand on its own. If it doesn't, that's a writing problem, not a reading order problem.

I treat sidestories like DVD special features. You watch the movie first, then you dive into the deleted scenes and director's commentary to enhance your understanding. Read the main story, get the complete narrative experience, then use the extra content to fill in gaps and explore corners of the world.

The emotional core is the protagonist's relationship with his human friends and his new pack. Those relationships develop slowly and realistically across the volumes. A joke or a moment of trust in volume three might call back to a conflict in volume one.
If you read out of order, those callbacks become meaningless, and the relationships feel shallow. The story is, at its heart, about connection and belonging in a crazy supernatural world. To feel that, you need to witness the connections form in real time. That only happens if you follow the timeline from the very first awkward, terrifying change.

I see a lot of straightforward answers, which are correct. But let me offer a different angle: the 'system' element. The game-like interface the protagonist sees is a core gimmick. It evolves in a specific way, introducing new stats, quests, and abilities in each volume.
Reading out of order would be like unlocking high-level skills in a game before learning the basic controls. It would be confusing and unsatisfying. The progression of the system is a huge part of the fun. To appreciate that progression, you must read in order. Watching the system get more complex alongside the protagonist's growing confidence is a key pleasure of the series.

[YOU HAVE TRANSMIGRATED INTO A VILLAINESS FATED TO DIE.]
I was supposed to obsess over the Alpha King, scheme against the heroine, and meet my end at the execution block.
Instead, I rewrote the story.
I chose Pierre Ashbourne—the neglected second male lead I once pitied as a reader—and spent three years helping him rebuild his dying pack, believing I had finally changed my fate.
Then he abandoned me at our mating ceremony for his first love, the heroine.
Now, the system has given me only one way home, restore the original ending by pushing the heroine back into the arms of the ruthless Alpha King, Hades.
But the more I try to complete the story, the more these leads are getting out of character!
What should I do?
In a world that has long considered werewolves a myth, old blood is stirred again when Raven—an ordinary young man living on the brink of collapse—is suddenly chosen by something that shouldn't exist.
A mysterious system emerges within him: the Werewolf Evolution System.
At first, Raven thinks it's just a delusion... until the first night of the moon changes. His bones crack, his blood boils, and something inside him begins to "awaken."
But the transformation isn't just a curse. It's the beginning of evolution.
Every battle he wins, every enemy he defeats, and every drop of blood he sheds, the system evolves, giving him new abilities, new forms... and a dark side that's increasingly difficult to control.
Behind it all, the world begins to stir.
The secret government, werewolf hunters, and the Alphas of various packs begin to sense something unnatural—a werewolf who defies the rules of natural evolution.
Because Raven isn't just a human who became a werewolf.
He's an anomaly.
And when the final “evolution path” opens, Raven will be forced to choose:
Become king among monsters… Or lose herself completely and become a disaster that even the Alphas can't stop.
But one big question remains:
Who really created the Werewolf Evolution System—and what is Raven's true purpose?

There is nothing Iris loves more than curling up with a ridiculous werewolf romance, laughing her head off at every over-the-top, cringey scene and swooning at the shameless smut. But one night, partway through an e-novel by a mysterious "Author 456", she chokes on a Doritos chip, dies, and wakes up inside the story as the doomed heroine.
Now she’s trapped in a medieval werewolf afterlife with bizarre werewolf laws, dangerously hot Alphas, and plotlines she knows will end in her eventual demise. There’s Alpha Kieran, her volatile, possessive fated mate who’ll tear kingdoms apart to keep her. And there’s Alpha Rowan, the charming first love who still holds a piece of her heart and isn’t afraid to fight for it. Their rivalry is a ticking time bomb that is already threatening to spark a war, and Iris is right in the middle.
As if juggling two jealous, dominant Alphas isn’t enough, a human rebellion is rising, and every move she makes could shift the story’s fate. She's got only one goal; to survive long enough to find a way back home before her “tragic ending” catches up to her.
Expect heated glances, possessive growls, steamy arguments that turn into even steamier reconciliations, and enough bedroom (and not-so-bedroom) scenes to make you blush in public. This is a laugh-out-loud, heart-racing, smut-laced romance you won’t be able to put down.
Man, I binged this last year and had zero clue there was a 'reading order.' I just read what was on the site. It made sense. Maybe we're overthinking it?
I'm a fan of reading on my phone, so the Webnovel app works fine for me. The text is customizable, and you can download chapters for offline reading. The coin system is annoying, but I just treat it like buying a book—I'll occasionally buy a stack of coins when there's a promotion to unlock a big chunk of an arc I'm into.
It feels more like supporting the author directly, even if the platform takes a cut. The community comments on each chapter can also be fun to read through, like a built-in book club.
The order's pretty straightforward since it follows the web serialization. Start with Volume 1, obviously. The author, JKSManga, structured it as a direct continuation from the web novel arc, so you won't get lost jumping from volume to volume. Just follow the numbers on the cover, they map directly to the story progression. Some side stories or extra chapters might get bundled, but the core plot is linear.
I'd avoid trying to read the web novel chapters interspersed unless you're a completionist, as the light novel version usually has revised and polished content. Stick to the published volumes in numerical order for the cleanest experience.
Why does everyone overcomplicate this? Read the story titled 'My Vampire System'. Finish it. Then read the story titled 'My Vampire System: The Immortal Strongest System'. That's it. That's the order.
The reboot is optional and exists in its own bubble. Thinking about reading orders beyond that is just creating stress where none is needed. The narrative flow between the original and its direct sequel is seamless, and the author didn't bury any essential content in obscure side material.
Navigating the 'Re:Zero' light novel series can feel like piecing together a puzzle at first, but once you grasp the structure, it's a thrilling ride! The main storyline follows Subaru Natsuki's looping nightmares in another world, and the core volumes are straightforward—start with Volume 1 and proceed numerically. However, the series branches out with side stories and EX volumes that enrich the lore.
For a cohesive experience, I’d recommend reading the main arcs first (Volumes 1-20+), then circling back to the EX volumes, which delve into side characters like Wilhelm and Crusch. The 'Short Story Collections' are sprinkled throughout but aren’t essential—they’re like bonus snacks for hardcore fans. Personally, I jumped into the EX volumes after Arc 4 (Volume 15) because they added emotional depth to the main plot’s political intrigue. The beauty of 'Re:Zero' is how these tangents amplify the central tragedy, making Subaru’s struggles hit even harder.
