Check Wattpad too, but filter carefully. The quality varies wildly, but I found a hilarious modern college AU there last week where Giyuu is a grumpy comp sci major and Shinobu runs the bio lab. It's unfinished, but the banter was worth the read. The algorithm keeps showing me more after I favorited it.

Finding those Giyuu x Shinobu stories can be tricky because they're not always tagged consistently; some authors just use 'GiyuShino' or throw it in as a secondary plot. Your best bet is honestly on Archive of Our Own—the tagging system is a lifesaver. I'd start by searching the Demon Slayer tag and then filtering for the 'Giyuu Tomioka/Shinobu Kocho' relationship tag. Don't forget to sort by kudos or bookmarks to weed out the abandoned WIPs.
You might also stumble on some real gems on Tumblr if you're willing to dig. The art communities there sometimes link to fanfic threads or prompt fills that don't get cross-posted to the bigger archives. Just be prepared for a lot of scrolling past aesthetic moodboards first.

Oh man, I've been down this rabbit hole. Honestly? I got kinda burned out on AO3 because the top-rated stuff all felt so similar—angst, angst, and more angst. I switched over to FanFiction.net on a whim and found this one really sweet, slice-of-life AU where they run a tea shop. It had like a tenth of the hits of the big AO3 fics, but the character voices were spot-on.
Sometimes the older sites have fics from before the anime blew up, and the writing feels less... influenced by the later seasons, if that makes sense. The search function is garbage, though. I just googled 'site:fanfiction.net Shinobu Giyuu romance' and worked my way through.

Honestly, you're asking at a tricky time. The whole Giyuu/Shinobu ship—‘GiyuShino’ or sometimes ‘ShinoGiyu’ depending on who you ask—has kind of a weird fandom footprint. It's not as massive as, say, Giyuu/Sanemi or Tanjiro-centric stuff, so the really popular crossovers can be scattered. My usual haunt is Archive of Our Own, obviously. The tag filtering there is your best friend. If you go to the 'Kimetsu no Yaiba' fandom tag, you can then filter by the relationship 'Tomioka Giyuu/Kochou Shinobu' and then add a 'Crossover' tag. You'll see a mix. I remember one that crossed with 'Inuyasha' that had a decent following, where Shinobu as a poison master and Giyuu's water breathing got kind of recontextualized in the Feudal Era. Felt a bit forced after a while, but it was popular for a bit.
Tumblr’s also a weirdly good source for finding recs, but not necessarily for hosting the stories themselves. Search the ship tag there and you’ll find blogs that meticulously reblog and review crossover fics. I found a neat 'Demon Slayer' / 'The Promised Neverland' crossover through one, where the Hashira were basically the older kids trying to protect the younger ones from the Demons in a more strategic setting. Giyuu and Shinobu’s dynamic as the emotionally closed-off one and the outwardly sweet but secretly vengeful one worked really well in that high-stakes survival plot.
Just be prepared to sift. Sometimes the most popular ones aren’t the best written; they’re just the ones that hit a trending crossover fandom at the right time. A lot of the truly interesting Giyuu/Shinobu crossovers I’ve read were actually on smaller, personal blogs or even fanfiction.net tucked away in older archives, because their dynamic appeals to writers who want to explore grief and quiet understanding, not just flashy action.
Giyuu and Shinobu could go from colleagues sharing trauma to finding comfort nobody else provides, but stories often fall short of their potential chemistry. I've scrolled through pages of 'shinobu comforts giyu' fics just to find them rehashing the same scenarios over and over. The real standout I've seen that handles them seriously is 'A Sober River' on AO3. It builds from a late-night encounter at the Water Estate and stays grounded in small, brittle gestures they'd actually make.
What kills the trope for me is when authors forget Shinobu's sharp edges to make her a generic gentle healer. The best slow burns keep her clinical precision intact while letting Giyuu's silence become its own kind of quiet banter. I'm still looking for one that fully explores how her medicinal obsession could clash or align with his survivor's guilt, honestly.
Man, the thing about Giyuu and Shinobu fic is how many writers latch onto the whole 'shared grief' angle. It's everywhere. They're both shouldering the loss of their siblings, right? So you get a ton of fics where they're quietly sitting together at a grave or just sharing tea without talking. It's melancholic, and sometimes it's done really well, but honestly it can feel a bit one-note after a while.
I've noticed a trend lately though, where authors flip the dynamic. Instead of just mutual comfort, they explore Shinobu actively trying to crack Giyuu's shell out of a mix of professional curiosity and personal irritation. She'll drag him into her lab to 'test antidotes' or something, and the tension comes from him being a terrible subject who nonetheless endures it. It's less about sweet romance and more about two very stubborn, damaged people poking at each other's wounds, which feels truer to their characters for me.
Then you've got the 'what if' scenarios set after the final battle, where they're the only surviving Hashira who really knew each other before it all. Those fics often deal with rebuilding the Corps together, and the ship develops amidst all that administrative burden and survivor's guilt. It's a slower, more administrative kind of hurt/comfort, which is weirdly specific but I'm into it.
