Which My Hero Academia Light Novel Focuses On Izuku Midoriya?

Searching for the light novel where Izuku Midoriya stars, since the spin-offs are tricky. Is it 'UA Heroes Battle' or his origin story?

I've seen some fan translations floating around for the earlier volumes before they got officially licensed. The official ones are definitely the way to go now, though. The fan translations sometimes had awkward phrasing that took me out of the moment. For Izuku-specific moments, maybe check out the episode novels that adapt specific arcs? I think there are novelizations of the movies, too, but those might feature him more prominently in an adventure format.

The library is your friend! I borrowed all the 'School Briefs' volumes from my local library's digital app. Saved a ton of money. It was perfect for a weekend binge-read. Izuku's stories were a nice, comforting distraction. If your library doesn't have them, you can often suggest a purchase.

Just chiming in to say the 'My Hero Academia: School Briefs' series is probably what you're looking for. They're all about the daily life at U.A. High, so Izuku and the whole class 1-A get plenty of page time. It's a nice change of pace from the constant villain fights.

I'm just here for the fan theories. Has anyone proposed that the light novels are actually Izuku's own written records of his time at U.A.? That would be a fun meta way to view them.

I've heard there are novelizations of the movies, like 'Two Heroes' and 'Heroes Rising.' Those are definitely focused on Izuku, as he's the protagonist of those films. But I'm not sure if they're classified as 'light novels' in the same way as the 'School Briefs' series. They might be more like straight adaptations. Worth looking into if you want a novel-length Izuku adventure.

Which My Hero Academia book comes after the first light novel?

The order is: 'My Hero Academia: School Briefs I', then 'II', then 'III', and there's also 'My Hero Academia: Smash!!' but that's a parody series. The light novels are standalone stories, so you can technically read them in any order after you're familiar with the characters. I'd recommend checking your local library's digital app—they often have the ebooks available through OverDrive. It's a free way to see if you like the style before buying the next one.

What is the correct order of the My Hero Academia light novels?

They're quick reads. You could probably finish one in a couple of hours. Because of that, it's not a huge commitment to just start at Volume 1 and breeze through them. There's no reason to jump around.
