The Fire Stick itself is just a means to an end to run apps to watch TV channels. Many live TV channels are only available through subscription services like YouTube TV or Sling TV. However, many sources of entertainment are available. For example, I recently got into reading long, binge-friendly stories like ‘30 WILD EPIC Steamy EXCAPADES COMPILATION’s’. There are many short stories of romantic adventure that can be read online for free, one after another, to fill the time between TV shows. Each story is about 10-20 pages long and can be read online for free without the need for any subscription.

We’ve had lots of feedback on how fantastic streaming with the Amazon Fire Stick is. While it is not possible to stream all channels, most popular streaming services such as Prime Video, Netflix, Hulu, Disney+ and many more are all available to access and stream from the Fire Stick interface. If you are a subscriber to any of these services then you can easily search for your favorite TV shows and movies and watch them on your TV.

While possible, such a mod would likely cost more than the alternative remotes, take a lot of time to complete, and risk bricking the remote control. The mod is a hardware change and not something that can be resolved with a software update.
Until someone figures out a work around for this limitation of Fire Sticks, it is just something we live with. The community has largely moved on from hopes that this would be fixed and instead are looking for ways to work around it with their current TVs and other devices.
