Just anything. I closed my eyes. There was this one time. I must have been seven or eight. I fell off my bike and scraped my knee really badly. I was crying and Dad picked me up and carried me all the way home. But instead of taking me straight inside he sat with me on the porch steps. What did he say. He told me that brave people are not the ones who never fall. They are the ones who get back up even when it hurts. A sad smile tugged at my lips. Then he kissed my knee and said he had kissed the pain away. And I believed him.

In her eyes, Jae is no seemed to carry a something of valiance above his head, given the way he smoked his cigarette's enchanted her. The rest of the girls were equally amazed by Jae, who's presence were acutely absent in their male classmates. His bravery in such a situation fueled their admiration to the fullest. "So what should we do about it?" Jate puffed, his cigarette smoke and curled into a circle. "Please feel free to punish us in any way you deemed to fit sir!" Brightmoon felt only a complete utter despair at the moment.

“You’re braver than most people here.” But I didn’t feel brave. I felt raw. Violated. Furious. Terrified. But I smiled faintly anyway. “Bravery,” I said, “is just surviving in the dark without becoming it.”

Lysander leans on the rail, confidence painted across his posture but cracked around the edges. “You guys are awfully quiet,” I say gently. Lysander smirks without looking at me. “Scared kids are supposed to be quiet.” Elysia shoots him a glare. “We’re not scared.” Her voice trembles. I sit down, tucking my knees under me. “It’s okay if you are. Being brave doesn’t mean you’re not afraid. It means you show up anyway.”

The board adjourned shortly after. When the doors finally closed behind us, I released a breath I felt like I’d been holding for ten years. Alexander turned to me, his eyes bright with something fierce and proud. “You were incredible.” I laughed softly, shaking slightly as adrenaline ebbed. “I was terrified.” He cupped my face, his thumb brushing away a tear I hadn’t realized had fallen. “Brave doesn’t mean fearless. It means you stood anyway.” Outside, the city surged back to life cars moving, lights flashing, the world continuing on as if something monumental hadn’t just cracked open.

“But you won’t face it alone. You have one another. You must protect each other.” Syrah lifted her chin, resolve gleaming in her eyes. “We aren’t afraid,” she proclaimed, her little face filled with defiance. “If we need to do this to remain with you and...” She paused briefly, still adjusting to the revelation about her father, “...Dad. Then we’ll do it. We’ll come back safely, I promise.” Tears stung behind my eyes, but I forced a gentle smile. “You’re both incredibly courageous,” I whispered, pulling them tightly into my embrace. “But hear me.....being brave doesn’t mean you’re never frightened. It means continuing forward even when fear exists.”

Or they would just give up like that, Besides she just wanted to thirst how brave they will be. And seriously, her powers was what scared them the most. She herself knew that her powers will scare them and that is why she would want to know how brave they would be. And the power was actually what made them to give up so quick. Which actually appears like they are not brave, but they are brave just the way they are. Imagine not having super powers, no skill, no armor and not only that. Have never also been or witnessed any battle before, so it is obvious that they are even more brave than Zara'm herself.

"My work is sitting in court testifying against someone who wants me dead. How is that not letting them control me?" "Because you're choosing to testify. You're choosing to see this through despite the danger. That's not being controlled. That's being brave." Some of the fight went out of Adrian's posture. "I don't feel brave. I feel terrified." "Bravery isn't the absence of fear. It's acting despite it. You're one of the bravest people I've ever met, Adrian. Don't lose sight of that." He leaned into me, letting me hold him, and I wrapped my arms around him, offering what comfort I could.

"Bravery isn't the absence of fear, Ni. It's pushing through despite it." The Weaver, their voice dripping with malevolent delight, chimed in, "Such touching sentiment amidst impending doom." Their laughter echoed, sending chills down our spines. "Let's see how brave you all are when the true battle begins." As the tension in the chamber escalated, an unexpected warmth enveloped us. The air pulsated with an energy, unlike anything we'd felt before. Our bond, our unity, seemed to grow even more robust, linking each of us in an intricate web of strength and trust.

"What matters is that you're doing the right thing now. You're helping us take down Gideon. You're giving us the evidence we need to destroy him. That takes courage, Charlie. More courage than you know." Charlie's voice cracked. "I was so scared. For so long. I did terrible things because I was scared. I hurt people I cared about because I was scared. I let him control me because I was too afraid to fight back. I was a coward, Chloe. A complete and utter coward." Chloe squeezed his hand. "You're fighting back now. That's what matters. You're standing up to him. You're choosing to do the right thing, even though it terrifies you. That's not cowardice, Charlie. That's bravery."
