“Miss Griffin, that’s a lot of calls. Do you want me to wait while you reply to them?” “No need. They’re nothing important,” I replied casually, my tone indifferent. Once we were on the road, he asked, “Miss Griffin, is this your first time here? Do you want to go anywhere before work starts? You don’t officially begin until the day after tomorrow. I can show you around.” “Yes, this is my first time here,” I said as I gazed out the window at the passing scenery. Suddenly, my phone rang again, the sharp sound filling the quiet car.

MECHANIC BOSS(MM) CHAPTER ONE NOAH “You Noah?” That’s the first thing I hear when I step into the garage. I turn fast and see him. He’s tall. Built like he could lift a car with one hand. Grease on his forearms, black shirt tight across his chest. I nod. “Yeah. Um… I’m here for the job?” “You’re late.” “I—yeah. The bus—” “Don’t care.” He turns around without another word and disappears behind a lifted truck. I’m left standing there like a damn idiot with my bag still on my shoulder.

“What colour do you want to start with?” “At least let me get dressed for this.” Seeing he’s pretending to not hear a word I say, I sigh. “White.” He hands me the white bag. It’s heavier than expected. When I peek inside, something catches in my throat. No way. I reach in and slowly pull out a hardcover novel — the limited edition. Bonus chapters. Character art. Gilded edges. The kind of cover you touch like it’s holy. It only released last month and costs more than my dignity. I’ve had it bookmarked in every browser tab like a prayer.

I insisted . She sighed "you won't give up will you." "I definitely won't so ...go please." She smiled at me as she left and I stayed behind. I began preparing breakfast as the birds began chirping . My hands already felt sore but I had to get it done for Madam Anna . I felt like she really worked so hard she barely had time to look after herself and the humans here seemed to only care about themselves and not each other.They had probably been here for so long they had forgotten how to be united ,how to fight ,they had given up all hope I could see it in their eyes.
