In the Shadow Clan: (Torpedo’s POV) “Listen! You can’t be a king if you couldn’t find yourself a mate” Mr. Lycaon demanded from him. “Uncle! I’m not ready for the mate kind of stuff for now!” He replied rolling his eyes. “Can’t you hear my words properly?” He shouted on Torpedo. “Uncle you know that I can be the king without this mate thing!” Torpedo argued with his uncle. “You know that King will never accept this! When he can’t accept his own daughter as a Queen without a mate then who are you?” He exclaimed further.

A shimmer of something brushed over my skin the moment I touched it…magic, light and ancient, the kind that made my spine tingle. “This is a sacred trial,” Ronan intoned. “Not for blood, but for bond. Fucking asshole. I shut the mind-link. He technically didn’t say WHEN to keep it open, so I decided that he implied that I should keep it open once the convoy arrives. I didn’t have much time to think as we descended the grand staircase towards the doors to receive our guests. Before I reached the bottom of the staircase, ready for the Burning Moon pack Alpha to inspect me. Afterall, I was his son’s new poised, prized pony of a future mate that they had come to collect.

I had a clan to lead. And I had a war to prevent, not just at the border, but within my own soul. I turned away from her door and began the long walk toward the Great Hall. Every step felt like a climb up a jagged peak. The torches flickered as I passed, their blue light casting long, distorted shadows that looked like claws against the floor. I was the Archon of Northreach. I was the winter. And tonight, I would have to convince my people that the storm was under control, even as I felt the thunder rattling my own bones.

And the true mate bond called to her like a siren. Lila watched her from across the hall during the feast, suspicion clear in her eyes. Kael drank heavily, his gaze dark. The game was reaching its boiling point. Elara raised her goblet in a silent toast to the shadows. The queen was coming for her crown , and she would drown her enemies in blood and ecstasy.

I kept my gaze locked on him, trying to maintain my composure as I said, "Ariana, go to your room." Ariana didn’t budge; she must have been petrified. Frustration bubbled up inside me, so I growled again, "Go to your room NOW!" Finally, Ariana stood up, ready to leave, but Christian’s sharp voice cut through the tension. "If you know what’s good for you, you won’t dare leave this place!" he asserted, his tone leaving no room for disobedience. His words made her freeze in her tracks. Then, turning his attention back to me, he continued, "She’s not going anywhere until you fucking tell me why he was here and why he fucking brought that cake because I know for sure you didn’t get it yourself."

Serenity couldn't keep quiet any longer. She had to ask Noah, the question which had been eating at her for the last few hours. Why Thorne was like he was and who was the man/creature who did it. “Who is Archon, and why did he sew Thorne’s mouth shut?” Noah froze, his eyes widenening as he stared down at the book in his hands. He finally lifted his gaze to her, eyes still wide and asked, “He told you?”

"The Order may be defeated, but their leader, the Archon, is still at large. And he's not going to stop until he's destroyed everything we've fought for." I felt a surge of determination. We couldn't let that happen. We had to find the Archon and stop him, no matter what it took. "Let's get to work," I said, and the others nodded in agreement. We spent the next few hours tracking the Archon's movements, following a trail of clues that led us deeper and deeper into the heart of the city. Finally, we had him cornered. The Archon stood before us, his eyes blazing with hatred.
