Wrong Pair of Eyes
“I’m waiting for you to make one.”
She held his gaze.
Felt the book in her hands. The warmth of him along her side. The amber light going golden now as the sun dropped.
“Eight days,” she said quietly.

And then, slowly, deliberately, giving her every opportunity to lean away, knowing fully well she wouldn’t take it, he reached over and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.
