Venus's POV I finally decide to walk in, and John Adams's eyes land on me. His face is already so serious and there is nothing to change in his expression. Usually his face hardens and his glare towards me changes a bit whenever Alonso is not around. "Before jumping into conclusions, what the heck is the link between those both?" I ask him directly. He might be the Alpha but I am The Beta of The capital pack. If I want to take him down right now, I can and I will. Usually Betas can never be above any Alphas but the power system in the capital pack works in a different way.

Alex looked over to where Ash was looking and saw four people. One was a long, black-haired female with good style who looked older and clearly was an alpha. And an arm was wrapped around her by a man who is clearly his mate, and he is also Alpha. Next to them was a boy who was like a teenager's kid and was also an Alpha. He was holding hands with a pretty lady with brown, shaggy hair and glasses. She was a beta. He saw the four of them make their way towards a table. Alex looked over at Ash and grabbed his hand gently as he led them to the table his siblings were at with their drinks in their free hands.

It was the first time we talked like that, it wasn’t an argument I thought but. “Oh siren”, he interrupted me with a link. “When we get to finish this we’ll handle this my way” he growled softly. “Can’t wait.“I shuddered to answer his link, knowing what he meant. “Alexa!”, his voice was Alpha again, “Can you explane this?” Jesus, it was amazing how could he be concentrated as if nothing was happening I thought looking at him questioningly as he returned the same look. "So, what do you want me to do my love?” His mind linked me again.

“But aren’t you the Alpha’s Beta? Surely he won’t mind if you step inside the room since you were tasked with the job of fetching me.” Rin seems to be hesitating, and I notice there is a gleam of fear in his blue eyes. It puzzles me. Why is the Beta afraid of his own Alpha? Something isn’t right here… “It would put me at ease if you came with me,” I say in a low voice, and my words are as shocking to me as they are to Rin. I’ve never had a filter, and my words are the truth: I would feel better if Rin accompanied me. But what bewilders me is that I can’t put a finger on why his presence would put me more at ease. I just met him—he is a complete stranger!

I stepped out and met my Gamma and Delta outside on the platform. They greeted me as their Alpha, my driver brought the car around, and we all stepped into the Audi SQ7. On the drive home I informed everyone about how the meeting took place, and that I would need a new Beta. Everyone had somber expressions, and some were disbelief at the news. Overall we did not know what to do with the information that we learned about him.
